Apparently only if it's crickets/grasshoppers which are one of the insect Orders intended for use in mass produced entomophagy.

I might be mixing up my religions though as it's Leviticus 11:22 that excludes Orthoptera from unclean animals that should not be eaten and I don't know which religions Leviticus does and does not apply to.

20 “Don’t eat insects that have wings and crawl.[a] Even the thought of eating them should make you sick! 21 But you may eat insects if they have legs with joints above their feet so that they can jump. 22 You may also eat all kinds of locusts, all kinds of winged locusts, all kinds of crickets, and all kinds of grasshoppers.

🤷‍♂️

That kinda makes sense. Many beetles (e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blister_beetle) and true bugs (e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_marmorated_stink_bug) have defensive secretions which at best smell and taste horrible and at worst are dangerous. I guess stinging insects like bees and wasps also "have wings and crawl".

Beetles and some other holometabolic insects could possibly be a better idea in some ways than crickets/grasshoppers when thinking about it.

Holometabolic insects are ones where the offspring [larvae] undergo complete metamorphosis from something grub/caterpillar like to the adult insect. So beetles, butterflies/moths, flies, etc.

Hemimetabolic are ones where offspring [nymphs] look similar to adults however the nymphs are not sexually mature and do not have wings if the adults do.

While both larvae and nymphs mostly only exist to consume food until reaching a point they become sexually mature adults in the case of holometabolic offspring they are more or less nothing but eating machines with mass stores wrapped in a bag. Nymphs will have various other structures matching the adults like legs, a fully developed carapace, and other parts which are less efficient for anything that then eats them. So a billion beetle grubs would possibly produce better mass yields per organism than a grasshopper, especially when considering the largest beetles in the world can produce grubs that approach 3-4 ounces/100g in mass, like the goliath beetle grub.

Still, people outside of Asia are highly unlikely to eat such a thing as is hence why Western attempts involving processing and repackaging into bars, powder, and whatever else.

Additionally as locusts are the typical swarm and plaque insect because of how destructive they are it could be the suggested plans by some groups are dependent on the growth medium they intend to provide which larvae would be unable to digest while grasshopper nymphs would just demolish anything near them, like goats do.

In one corner, you have people who say "Malthus was empiracally observably wrong, and everyone who ever used his postulations was proven wrong generation after generation. I'm not eating the bugs."

In the other corner, you have people who say "Malthus was a visionary! Yes, he was wrong in his lifetime, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, on and on and on for centuries, but this time, he's DEFINITELY right! ...So you eat the bugs, I'm richer than you, so I'm keeping my good stuff, but you deserve less."

If the niggers and chinks hadn't been allowed to weasel out of birth control for the past 50 years with the whines of "oh, they'll catch up and flatten the population out before we get too much past 6 billion ..er .. 8 billion .. er .. " we wouldn't even be having this discussion, but hey, EATING BUGS was predicted FOUR FUCKING BILLION HUMANS AGO. But only whites were beat with the "you'll be eating bugs if you keep having kids in litters" threat. I guess because the other races literally like to EAT SHIT.

Well, here, I'll donate what's in my cat's litter box for the fuckers to feed their endless brats with.

I didn't "conserve energy" just to have four billion more niggerific assholes come use it all up in one fucking generation ...

What do you think about the fact that millions of insects have to die to produce the same amount of protein in a cow?

I think the real solution is the lab grown meat from cell cultures (but not bugs, why does it have to be bugs in the title? You can print ANY thing from the cell lines). No worries about disease, food poisoning, or anything else. Farming everything that fucking moves is NOT the answer. Not everything needs to be shoved down monkeypig gullets. Cell culture/3D bioprinting is also the answer for organ transplant, and perhaps blood transfusion later on, too.

AND lace that shit with BIRTH CONTROL for the stubborn nignogs.

Oh, but how are the poor gonna get that lab grown meat? Same place they got the money to vaxx 8 billion people for free. :P Anyway, who says that the tech won't become cheap and common enough for ANYONE to print/culture their own food? Just buy a few starter cells for cheap, or some shit. Buy the machine and whatever fluid you need from Amazon, everyone wins. For sure the NGOs would be helping distribute that stuff (any that are worth sneezing at, anyway.)

Should also be dropping rabies bait and raining Advantix over the wilderness, too (because fuck the pure parasites).

not the guy your replying to but i think its unsustanable. yes insects may outnumber us a mil to one but you would devistate the ecosystem doing this, my guess thats likely the point. create a slow(?) domino effect that ripples out ending in select few having growing and general food production capabilitys. hard to talk some people to revolt if its against their food supply... this also has the effect of giving these people inordate power.

Honestly though I think they're all sleeping on seaweed. It's not bugs, it's already food or close enough for normal people, and growing it captures CO2. But no. Got go for the shitty bug-ranching communist dystopia meme.

They want you to eat the bugs for the same reasons that they prefer Woke Washing White characters into non-White characters instead of just creating new non-White characters.

It is about humilating you, taking stuff away from you and eventually getting society to just accept it.

One of the best things I've ever eaten was a seaweed salad at a really fancy Japanese restaurant. I keep trying to go back, but you have to make a reservation like months in advance, and I'm bad at planning.

I have been totally grossed out by anything resembling "seaweed" since enduring the horrors that one found on the beaches of Lake Erie in the 1970s. It's my one major irrational fear.

There's no fucking WAY I'll eat that shit.

Well, then, send that tech right to your wah-wah uniceftard turdwhirled villages, where they need it. Make them get out their free mosquito netting the next time the locusts come.
