So with this judgment, they are acknowledging Alex Jones runs a legitimate news station of solid repute.
Because parody and "comedic" shows have gotten away with libel/slander under the "I'm a comedy show" umbrella, the "it's not a serious show" fact.

Ridiculous. I still don't understand how they can prove damages at all. The media tells us that Alex Jones is a crazy person. Crazy people say crazy things.

Surely this will be overturned on appeal.
Taxes caps punitives at 2x actual damages, so the judge is supposed to reduce it to confirm with the law without any need for appeal. The PLAINTIFFs are threatening to appeal, which is just a joke.
The bigger issue is that Alex Jones has multiple other trials like this already lined up and they are all going to try to take a bite out of him.
Appeals lawyers get paid too. They're going to drain him dry with penalties and endless legal fees.

The entire trial was less a show trial to scare dissidents but a mockery showing you can't get any justice from blue areas in any state. They denied him all areas he could argue this case and skipped to a default judgement on a technicality.
There needs to be purges in a lot of the judiciary
