Yes, Jordan, let's let emotional platitudes and a reasonable tone lead us unto our government-funded work plantations.
Jordan Peterson will go on stage in front of thousands of people and talk extensively about heritable IQ differences between groups of people and how those differences manifest as disparate outcomes and behaviors, but he won’t look at even the most basic gun violence stats and recognize those same inherent group differences at work.
He's Canadian. Most Canadians just don't get the gun culture in the States, because in Canada, the red coats won the war and basically imposed unqestionned Monarchy.
Canadians will never understand the spirit of rebellion that feeds personal arms ownership because we got 1839 instead of 1776.
The funny thing is that the establishment will always hate him for opposing compelled speech wrt to tranny pronouns. There's no getting back into their good graces after doing that.
Not only that, he's incredibly knowledgeable in the history of authoritarian governance. Yet like so many, particularly regarding gun restrictions, he just can't seem to see the wood for the trees.

And that's what Peterson is selling. His books are mostly just gussied up self help columns, coming from a deeply dysfunctional person. Nothing about that makes sense.

As a clinical headshrinker he had the hubris to believe he wouldn't become addicted to whatever he was strung out on (benzos, I think).
Peterson got lucky because his righteous public refusal of C-16 resonated with a whole lot of people, and he will always be something of a hero to me because he brought the growing totalitarianism issuing from universities to the attention of the general public.
He's never hidden his love of money or capitalism and his hit book made him rich as Croesus. He pimped that success into a world tour and did it again with his sequel, a transparently shallow and profitable effort to piggyback on the success of his first book. His daughter is also cashing in on daddy's fame.

I can see it right now, in his most indignant Kermit the frog impression, saying that we've taken him completely out of context yet again.

To be blunt, this man goes around telling young men to work on being disciplined, focus on self improvement and also get married for the sake of society while he himself is an actual drug addict and his daughter parades around like an instagram thot. His daughter has already been divorced once before age 30. Nice tradcon values he fostered in his daughter

It is a sad sign of the times that people on the right still look to someone weak like Jordan Peterson for any advice in their lives.
It's similar to Trump: Trump lives a lifestyle that is the polar opposite of that of many of his supporters. But he (and Peterson) don't show open contempt for that lifestyle and the people who practice it the way that most everyone else does, even if they themselves don't practice it.
Even among the dissident right there are people like Scott Greer who clearly have a seething hatred of anyone who doesn't live in a major metropolitan area.

It doesn't matter that he's flawed. He's very good--bizarrely good--at making the Western ideal (best described by literature) and Christendom ideal (best described by going to a decent Church) accessible to a modern fuckwads (which is pretty much everyone).
He's a small-town pastor who has global reach. There's no touching this--if you bag on him, you're a piece of shit. What he says is simply Good. If you're so big, big internet man, you do better.
He isn't Christian and if you're not then you're a detriment to whatever society you live in

Peterson also was born and grew up in rural Alberta (and is very proud of this fact), even though he left that life a long time ago (Harvard, University of Toronto, fame and fortune, book tours).
It's still surprising to learn that someone with Alberta roots has such bad gun control takes.

The Freedom movement has definitely unmasked Calgary (specifically) and Edmonton as woke wastelands like you mentioned.
Looking it up on Wikipedia, Peterson was born in Edmonton but was raised 500km and 5 1/2 hours northwest in a small town of less than 3k people in Fairview, AB (that I've never heard of).
Edmonton itself is already very far north as far as Canadian cities go, so Peterson definitely would have had a true rural Alberta upbringing, where guns should be vital and appreciated.
I don't see anything in here about anyone having sex with his wife.
