The writers are narcissists who surround themselves with other narcissists, so none of them can imagine someone engaging with media that doesn’t perfectly reflect their own worldview. They write for themselves and their social circles, and their fellow travelers in major studios have been convinced that this is somehow “the way forward”.
Meanwhile, their collective ratings have never been worse.
I feel bad we grew up in the era where diversity and the globohomo agenda were shoved down our throats subtly, and we all bought the whole they're just like us and we can all get along bs while wasting time being 'entertained'. now the masks slipped and they openly showed how much they hate whites, nobody can just go back to the old shows and watch them with naive eyes anymore. you can't unsee the agenda. Hollywood has always been fake and gay and pushed the agenda, I'm not angry about waking up from their propagandas, I'm angry about waking up late.

The OG show did get into race & politics at times but it was rare, the show had 0 white main cast members but everyone in my small white school watched it.
Whenever I debate the young woke crowd that obsesses over diversity I point out the original fresh prince, Cosby show, or blade as an example that people will support something with a good story regardless of race. A black show in the modern era that endlessly harps on racism…. Not so much.

Sanford and Son was the best. I'm not even that old but I watched it all on a TV Land marathon. Every episode was funny except the ones where they replaced Sanford.
It was before my time too but my grandfather loved it so I learned to live it. Yea Grady wasn’t as funny in a leading role. But I thought when his son left Sanford and the guy that replaced him was still funny

My small town never had more than 5 black people in it. We all watched Fresh Prince, Family Matters, Cosby Show, Different World, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, etc

I grew up watching the original and enjoyed it. At no point since the show went off the air did I ever want to see a reboot. Especially one with such a different tone.

I heard the first episode was decent but I figured it would get worse. Plus they said it would address race/class and I’ve reached my limit for content on that subject. Also I heard they made Ashley gay which adds to the modern day trope of unnecessary lgbt characters.
Anything 2014 or prior I’ll give a chance. Anything after I’m very wary and a modern show with a mostly black cast will cause me to assume it will harp on the same narratives. I could be wrong but so far I’m not
Same but I’ll hold my nose and go up to 2016. Anything afterwards is a hard no regardless of subject matter.

It's on every morning on VH1. I watch it a few times per week while I'm catching up on work emails.
They should do like games and stop showing the old episodes so we're forced to watch the new shit. (looking at you San Andreas)
IMO if you expected a good show out of that premise/reboot then you deserve to have your time wasted.
