The protests across the country this weekend drew ten times the numbers.
Canada is about to get very dark, but I think a critical mass of people even here have already become aware of what's happening, and this can't sustain itself forever.
Even if he manages to get away with this, they can't freeze the assets of tens of thousands of people all at once without creating a parallel economy. If that's the route they take, unpersoning that many people in such a short period of time, freezing them out of the economy, the result will be to create a separate society entirely outside of their control. They will create out of tyranny what we've been trying to generate organically.
Well, other countries are dropping mandates, the rest of the world sees Trudeau as a tyrant whose actions are costing him favor, many of his own provincial ministers are calling him out, his actions against truckers are going to cause economic problems that will bite him in the ass, and Ottawa are going to realize really fucking quickly that the protesters were better.
Yes, the Convoy didn't get what they wanted from this protest. But the results are in no way favorable to Trudeau. It's important to realize that history books leave out the week-long periods of time where fuck all happens during any revolution.
I'm surprised at how easily they dispensed with the phony democratic exterior of the regime. This seems like short-term benefit and long-term loss for the regime, as the loss of legitimacy will be tremendous.

It honestly makes me wonder if there isn't an imminent economic collapse the plebs haven't been told about. That would essentially nullify the long term effects of this powergrab.
Hmm... Housing prices have tripled in a couple years. That's a big bubble. Most of it Chinese foreign investment.
Shipping goods futures have jumped up, Amazon skyrocketing in value. That's a big bubble. Most of it from the Chinese.
Energy/oil has surged. Not necessarily a bubble, but a lot of increased demand from it traces back to the Chinese.
Many western banks have outsourced large chunks of their internal data processing, programming, and IT to India and China, leading to a gutted local middle-age group unable to tax-wise support the elderly, while leaving a huge dependency on foreign Indian and Chinese skills.
China is considering going to war. Pointy things pop a lot of bubbles, especially if they're close to the Chinese.
This seems like short-term benefit and long-term loss for the regime, as the loss of legitimacy will be tremendous.
Loss of legitimacy?
How so?
The media is in their pocket and most of the country is as well.
Optics don't matter anymore and haven't for a long time. This 4th and 5th generational warfare garbage is dead in the water. At the end of the day the one with the standing army wins. Canadian citizens, and American ones for that matter, aren't willing or able to even form an army in resistance. So they lose by default.
Until the people themselves are willing and able to put nuts to butts there will never be anything but what we have now or worse.

they never steal great power for a temporary time... goodbye to democracy, hello great canadian dictatorship... but one day we may free ya'll again. Dont lose hope, free canadies.
Are there any good consequences from the trucker protest? As an outsider it looks like a black pill.
Showed the world there can no longer be any half measures.
Mask fully off and being flaunted

You're assuming people can be bothered to continue with resistance.
Based on what I've seen the majority will simply give up because the "leadership" is either cucked to hell or a controlled asset.
It seems to have motivated non-canadians to ebd lockdown measures by demonstrating how unpopular they are.

that's because he got caught partying basically non-stop.

Feel like I've seen this stuff happen before, for example after a certain fire in a certain German government building in the 1930s.
you mean when the trumpers lit fire to the reichstag? I remember it too from my CNN history lessons.
#punch all trumpfers they are litterally raycis an sheets
Or like after January 6th in America in 2021
If only we had a war hero who could rally the old nobility and commoners in arms against the communists.
It's (D)ifferent this time, we swear!

So this is how democracy dies... Honk.
I was informed that it dies in darkness.
In Canada it dies in KIWI brand Parade Gloss Black shoe polish.
Never forget that the crowds cheered as the trucks left.
And only last week you had Trudeau stans saying "It's only for THIIIIRTY DAAAAAAYS"
Only two more weeks to stop the spread

Two months to slow the protests.
I'd say it's nice being right but then I look ahead and beg to be wrong.
How'd they "clear out" the blockade if the towing companies didn't want to do it? Did they seize their vehicles or something?
Hope those guys come back there. Be a pain in the ass to the govenrment.
That was just in the beginning. They found some scabs.
Then two to three years.
Two months to slow the curve.
didnt he already say they would be permanent??
So forever
And you can forget about future elections
I want Parliament to make him scream, "Et tu Brute?"
Is that wrong?
