It makes sense considering canada was founded by a bunch of people who weren't even wanted in their own country and had to effectively be banished by two others (US/Britain), three if you include the whole Quebec thing.

No, it's not called Bolshevism. The Bolsheviks were shooting immigrants (as it happened with thousands of Polish communist exiles) and were extremely violent in their suppression of ethnic minorities.
Speaking of the latter, it's a fun fact how the Soviet Union had a western-inspired entire genre of easterns ("osterns"), typically about the brave Bolsheviks (Cheka or Red Army members) fighting the evil Muslim "bandits" in the Central Asia during or after the Civil War.
