One thing that's interesting in the UK and France is that the Islamists don't necessarily react violently to this provocation. Specific radicals over-react on one thing, and that sends the message.
Their burning churches because no one's defending them... but they are not burning LGBT flags because they know not to start that fight. It's very specific levels of directed violence. And the Queer Theorists are (frankly) too scared to try.
