The state Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeals (supreme court for criminal cases) are both pretty based. I've met a number of those judges and they hate the left wing retardation as much as those here do. The problem judges are all the locally elected judges, like that crazy judge in Dallas who gave primary custody to the mom who's pushing to transition her son. Those are the judges who need to be booted off the bench.
The legislature has already studied this issue and the solution that was being pushed is to change it so that the governor appoints judges and then they run for retention every four years. But just like the youth transgender ban, this judicial fix never passed the legislature because the legislature is full of worthless RINO trash who can't pass a law if their lives depended on it despite having a GOP majority in both houses.
I still don't understand how this can be allowed. They're paid to represent their communities and go on a vacation instead-I feel like the Republicans need to just ball up, issue a 48 hour ultimatum of 'If you don't get your asses back here, your votes are counted as abstaining,' and let them cry about it afterwards.
The problem with the texas legislature is they must have minimum number of people there to have what is called a quorum. This is the least amount of people there to have a vote on something. It is to prevent a minority from acting like a dictatorship, but it has been abused to by a minority to prevent anything they don't want to pass from even being worked on.
Yeah, I understand the quorum. My issue comes back to 'How is the quorom allowed to have standing when they actively admit they're just using it to blueball everyone else?'
While I am normally in favor of anything that makes legislators move slowly so they have to consider everything and can't kneejerk us into 53 world wars, admitting malice in your tactics should make your vote null and void.
Good question. I've never heard of "civil arrest" before this. There are some references to it being used by ICE. Best I can tell it means the person is just arrested to be brought back for a proceeding.
Arrest means a restraint on your liberty. So these rules allow a LEO to arrest a house member and bring them directly to the house chambers. Another example of civil arrest is when someone is held in civil contempt in a legal case.
As I understand it, this means that if they come back into the state of texas, they can be compelled to attend the State House and perform their duties.
I imagine the longest that they can keep this up is until the next election. Is it possible to represent a district if you refuse to go there?
They need a state constitutional amendment that if any rep leaves the state to avoid their duties they automatically forgot their office and the governor can appoint a replacement until the next election.
It's not going to lead to civil war. It's happened before actually. I think it was Republicans who did it in some state a few years back. I forget what the resolution finally was.
It was Oregon, and IIRC, the Dems ultimately got what they wanted.
The Democrats, big tech, and media blow everything way the fuck out of proportion. You think a bunch of these narcissistic cunts won't pretend to be martyrs the moment they start getting arrested for acting like this is one giant soap opera? Why do you think Texas is moving so slowly, barely enforcing the full might of the law? They don't want to look like they started it. But the first shot was fired a long time ago, and they've been shooting ever since.
I want them to do extraordinary rendition, straight up in DC. Do it in the Democrats back yard and use private jets to bring those feckless pieces of filth back to the capitol to vote, in chains.
I loved to see the leftists freaking out about this, calling it a dictatorship, saying they need to continue to take over Texas, etc...on I believe the same day that news was happening about how Congress or the Senate would arrest people for not wearing masks, or whatever it is.
So enforcing existing laws in Texas (as I understand it, at least) is tyrannical, but introducing new bullshit mandates to punish and humiliate your politic appoints is brave and responsible. Fuck off, commies.
Next line:
I hope the Republic of Texas will have the position of the Texas Supreme.
They first need to expel all leftist activist judges that plague their justice system.

What does that mean? how can you be arrested under civil codes?
They're being arrested to be forced to show up for the vote not to stand trial would be my guess
Aren't they confirmed super-spreaders? Or was it a different bunch?
I don't recall Texas passing a law that made it illegal to accidentally spread disease.
So are they going to bring them in NBC suits and not just handcuffs?
They should place plastic bags over their heads and tape it down tightly. You know, to prevent the spread of COVID.
This isn't ebola, mate.
They can just put N95s (if that; christ, the 'rona response is absurdly overstated) on them and bring them in.
They should put them in military gas masks and let them mumble in these.
The are democrat traitors, mocking bird kid fuckers are gonna memory hole that shit

Ofcourse, this is the Leftest of habits.

Yeah, that isn't going to do anything.

So, can regular citizens execute these warrants? Asking for a friend
"They were the police, jury and executioners, all in one. They were the Judges."
Starring police classics "Stop Resisting!" and "Gun! Gun! Gun!".
In other news: Judge Clay Jenkins just passed a mandatory mask mandate for all of Dallas county, starting tonight.
https://www.keranews.org/government/2021-08-11/dallas-countys-indoor-mask-mandate-starts-tonight-heres-what-you-need-to-know
How does a judge do that for an entire county? This is exactly how the gayness started last year, from this same fucking judge.
Also, fuck this shit, I'm not wearing the mask. My job will have to fire me. I'm so god damn sick of liars, tyrants, and useful idiots.
Sic Semper Tyrannis.
Well, he can't enforce it. The state has already said no.
I thought that was only Florida so far. Oh well, I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Have a good night dude.

Here you go, my dude!
Awesome. Thank you.

Send them a limo stocked with Old English.
Surely won't be a cop car and handcuffs. It's all optics. So tiring of all the show. For once can we just get stuff done?
but really there is no other way to deal with obstructionism? then to issue arrest warrants?
