Even if you do teach them right, they might still turn out to be ham planets like me because of horrible fucking treatment and depression killing any drive to thrive, let alone live. It took me years to get passed the severe depression and into "I can and deserve to live" depression. By then, I had achieved gas giant status. Becoming a fully armed and functional battle station is my end goal.
Dutiful worship at the Iron Temple shall gain you Brodin's favor, that he may smile upon you and cast out Broki's fat demons. It is only through Brodin that we may find salvation from soy.
Lifting weights isn't really all that effective at making you lose weight. Aerobic exercise is better, and not eating too much is best of all three. Combine all three and you have a nice combination.
All three combined is optimal for general health, but if the primary goal is to shed weight the best way to do that is through diet. Most effective method I've found is to just fast one day a week. I'm sure I"m not unique in that restricting calories every day to the point where I still want more food is not a sustainable approach. It's a lot easier to skip food once every seven days than it is to eat at a 500 calorie deficit all week long. Also, zero food for 24 hours pretty much guarantees that your body is gonna go "alright, we're empty. Time to tap into those emergency reserves".
The progressives' permissive attitude towards obesity is especially infuriating given the social pressures currently employed by these very same people in their effort to force experimental injections on everyone. If we had spent the last 14 months shaming and shunning everyone into exercising and eating healthy, we would have saved a lot more lives than any vaccine.
And their push for nationalized healthcare where the obese would devour huge portions of our limited medical resources without the money barrier keeping them out.
It's the miracle cure no fat ass wants to stick to.
Anecdotally, I helped my mother lose alot of weight whe she got her second ( and worsening ) test in the prediabetic range and her fucking doctor told her the weight "probably wasen't the cause because it was mostly stable".
I was pissed to see my mother make herself sick, so I did all the calorie-counting for her and pointed out her "secret eating" she thought nobody knew about.
She still eat the exact same sugary crap, but a smaller amount of it.
The beetus vanished.
Wouldn't have done it without the hand holding.
Like nearly all fat people, they just won't put half the cake down.
Which is why they stay T2 diabetic.
Self-control is hard, food is delicious, someone on TV said calorie-counting dosen't work and will give them an eating disorder, instead they should only eat food they hate forever.
Idk why it isn’t the norm to give your child food, and let them eat until they just don’t want to anymore. If your child didn’t eat all of their chicken nuggets but is asking for a bowl of ice cream, just give them the fucking ice cream! Maybe they’re just sick of the nuggets?? Monitoring a kids food like that is a sure way to lead them to a lifetime of poor relationships with food
The woman writing it is, of course, an absolute psycho who elsewhere has a thread declaring that she got someone to make a hole in her nose and that she wants to stack several piercings there. Also about how sad and depressed she is.
This is what happens when you go past a tipping point where the vast majority of people are very fat or obese. They're going to hate any cultural norm that protects against their... condition.
Imagine if 2/3 was addicted to heroin. They'd get angry at messaging that is intended to dissuade people from using heroin.
The one time I managed to get under 200, it was by exercising 2+ hours a day, 5 days a week, and strictly monitoring calorie count and micronutrients
This is what they consider hellish. 10 whole fucking hours a week of exercise. And then some made up shit about nutrition that makes them think it'll work because they made it over complex.
That's why you never take them seriously about anything. Their reality is so privileged and spoiled they deserve the heart disease and death.
10 hours a week does sound like a lot, it's 1/4 of a whole work-week.
But you don't have to act the same way maintaining as you did losing weight. You just need to eat less. That's what does it. But they want to stuff their face with candy and fast food and lard, without getting fat - or at least, without getting criticized for being morbidly obese.
If you entire life is sedentary its nothing. Most people spend all their work week sitting, or standing around doing nothing else. Then go home and do the same.
By sheer logic, they should have 10 hours a week of energy in there somewhere they aren't using.
Especially because she said "exercise" and not weight lifting. Which based on my experience implies light jogging, yoga, and prissy mom weights (oooo 30 reps of a 2lb weight). Something that only counts as exercise because the bar has dropped to the floor.
And they drive everywhere. Of course, lousy city design that creates vast wastelands of cookie-cutter houses/tenements with no mom and pop shops on every other corner any more doesn't help either (and they only seem to want to build 7-11s on main thoroughfares, not in neighbourhoods.)
I very much doubt they don't have 10 hours of time. They might think they don't, but if they made good decisions on their life they wouldn't be in this predicament anyway.
The only way I'd buy that is if they have a bunch of kids, but I think obese parents are child abuse to begin with.
Someone forgot to tell people that the "eating big meals by the clock" was meant for MANUAL LABOURERS in a time when they didn't have machines to make things easy.
Diet is one of the most important things to consider when preventing obesity. It's not necessarily how much you it, but what you eat. The food industry would love for us to stick to the high processed grain, high saturated fat, and hight artificial sugar diet that caused the obesity epidemic in the first place.
It's not necessarily how much you eat , but what you eat.
If your only goal is to lose weight, how much you eat is far more important than what you eat. All that matters is taking in less calories than you burn each day.
That said, it's true that certain foods will leave you feeling more full than others.
It's not necessarily how much you it, but what you eat.
This kept my mother fat for decades up to the prediabetic test results.
She thought ( because nutritionists keep saying that ) the only way to lose weight was to stop eating the "wrong food" she wanted to eat, and she could never stick to the "good food" for more than a few weeks.
She lost 50 pounds when I did ( she wouldn't do it herself ) the unthinkable nutritionists said to never do : calorie counting to reduce portions of the same sugary crap food, so she could eat less of the same.
Her blood sugar went back to normal. She can stick to it ( it's been years ) because she still likes what she eats.
P.S. : If changing what you eat instead works for you, by all means do what you can stick to long term. Not everyone will succeed managing their weight the same way.

"Fat is a four letter word" is an interesting conversation in that thread. I mean, what the heck!?
It's about the average level of humour I'd expect from a perpetual child wallowing in their mommy/daddy issues on Reddit.
Just strings of curse words vomitted onto the internet as they realise what "a four letter word" means later than the slow bus.
I believe James Lindsay said they actually prefer Obese because that's a medical term so are victims of a condition not of their poor choices.
That's 5 letters

Lift weights. Just fucking do it.
I did. Got down to 350.
Awesome. Now lift heavier weights, more often.
Great job. Now keep doing what was already working.

We all got our demons, but we still gotta become brick shit houses to flex on those who gave them to us.

Just the costs of T2 diabetes management is a billions dollars black hole of public funds.
T2 diabetes is, for the vast majority, lifestyle caused and reversible with weight loss.
86% of patients with T2 diabetes got rid of it if they lost 15kg or more.
Give your body some fucking rest from the overconsumption and it is extremely likely your insulin resistance will go away.
Then stabilize your weight, don't fat again, and that's it..
( Note that although obesity is a risk factor for T1 diabetes, you can't get rid of that one with weight loss. It's a different disease. )
That sounds so incredible that it's very hard to believe. I'll just comment that it's The Lancet, a politicized journal run by a hard-left nutcase.
It's the miracle cure no fat ass wants to stick to.

I see what you did there.
This got 58 upvotes.

Because of course.

She was not "monitoring strictly" a reasonable number of calories if she barely dipped under 200 pounds.
She can "monitor strictly" her 2800 calories diet, exercise 2 hours a day, and stay fat.
I barely even gave that a consideration because we all know its a lie, and mostly consisted of buying Weight Watchers and failing basic math, if that.
And they spend, 15 hrs a week eating, 20 hrs a week watching TV, another 15 hrs a week on the phones bitching about fat is healthy.
Buh-buh-buh muh three squares a day!
