I think Snopes has verified that that was Jefferson's original quote - being as prophetic as he was people at the time didn't understand and omitted "dollar" from future printings.
I really want to come up with some funny analogy about looting a dollar tree but frankly looting a dollar tree is already more cringe than anything I could compare it to.

You would have to take every item in the store undamaged to be worth the fine you would get for robbing it.
You know, for once, the target isn't 100% self-destructive. Dollar Tree, thankfully, isn't franchised. I doubt they knew that going into it, and I doubt they were concerned if it were or not, but thankfully, it isn't. So at the very least they were only ruining the lives of several local workers, not several local workers and an owner.

Uncle Ike's on Capitol Hill in Seattle has been threatened by gangster protection rackets repeatedly lest their popular neighborhood business burn down without a 30% protection fee. Legal retail weed is completely a cash business in WA because of federal law/payment processor restrictions. It's actually a pretty risky business financially.
Well that's what you get when you combine cash business with numbnuts gun control laws. If it happened in Arizona, I never heard of it. There were also constantly visibly armed guards outside, and I would assume the employees were packing heat, too, if I were a criminal. Of course, you could say the same about a lot of businesses.

The media dug up a word: insurrection. I've never heard that word used in the context of a political protest. Even the ones that actually overthrow governments, though I've heard synonyms. It's just weird that they found a 5 dollar word and decided to use it all of the sudden but only to apply to one specific incident.
