Fucking hell. Nothing needed to enter the country, nothing needed to vote, but you'll need passports to go to the fucking store?

Nothing needed to enter the country

Don't be silly! You'll need a COVID passport if you try to enter the country legally, too. Only future Democrat voters will be allowed in without one.

How can we give them their passport if they don't enter the country first? Checkmate bigot. We promise we'll keep track of them very carefully and they won't wander off, or disappear into their racial/cultural enclaves never to be seen again.

It is completely game over if this is actually ruled constitutional by the nine clowns we have on the Supreme Court.

I'm worried but at the same time texas is well, texas.

I remember going into a restaurant to pick up our dinner order for the family and i begrudgingly put on a mask and when i went in not a single person behind the counter was wearing one and they were all smiling, then i felt like the asshole. But this was a couple of months into the full blown hysteria to boot.

I don't like this shit one bit though "oh its just a passport" Yeah, and? This shit is skeedaddling even further into the surveillance state real goddamned quick, and now theyre talking about taxing us per mile driven while gas prices skyrocket? It hasn't even been a goddamned year and theyre going all out.

I've seen several things which require a QR coof pass, the New York venues and the LA school district.

Not everyone has a smart phone, so does the government plan to require all Americans carry a smart phone [tracking device] too?

I don't actually think that will go over well.

The New York one explicitly states that the passport is "optional" and that a vaccine card is sufficient. Maybe they try to change that at some point, but I suspect that given the clusterfuck that vaccine logistics were in the early days that some people who were vaccinated back in December and January won't show up in computer systems to be able to get a passport.

▲ 28 ▼
– onetruephilosoraptor [S] 28 points 5 years ago +28 / -0

They will most likely demand those people be vaccinated again.

These passports are about enforcing tracking and control.

This is not about a virus that only kills less than 1 percent of those who are infected.

These are government apps probably developed by Indians who exactly implemented poor requirements/specs from bureaucrats.

If there isn't a "vaccine passport barcode generator" web site within a month I will be very disappointed.

You are underestimating this threat heavily.

I would bet that they have been working on these vaccine passports even BEFORE they had the Wuhan lab release the Chinavirus.

I don't expect incompetence here to be the saving grace.

Perhaps, but my fallback plan is to have a farm that I never have to leave and to barter with my neighbors for things I can't produce myself.

If I have to live my life as though it's the 1700's where I hardly ever leave my property and going to town is a major life event, then so be it. My ancestors lived like that and lived full lives.

However ultimately all these plans made by our Betters will be implemented by minimum wage workers, by DMV Americans, or by offshore contractors who are trying to do the bare minimum to convince people who don't know anything that they fulfilled the contract so they can get paid.

I have been very consistent in my belief that the one saving grace of the Globalist American Empire is that its leaders are incapable of instilling loyalty in their subjects, don't pay well enough to buy it, and are actively pushing people out who simply want to do a good job out of a basic sense of obligation and duty.

The only people left will be those trying to game the system to enrich themselves and those too incompetent to do the job they're assigned. The former can be bribed, and the latter can be fooled.

I don't think living like the Amish is feasible for most people even though that method will work.

I think it would be better if these "vaccine" passports are resisted by the majority of people and stopped.

I'm all in favor of resisting these policies, but that assumes a society-level action that where I live I just haven't seen from my fellow citizens/subjects.

There's a saying I forget where I heard it from: "if you think it's time for war, run out your door with your rifle and look toward your neighbor's house. If you don't see your neighbor with his, it isn't time". Well I don't even see my neighbors not wearing masks, so assuming they'll resist a vaccine passport is a long-shot.

Meanwhile I still need to eat, so at this point I'm in "I don't need to save the world, just myself" mode.

Vaccine passports are only good for 90 days (yes, really), so December and (soon) January people would be expired anyway.

Leave it to the government to make a bad idea somehow even worse, so people would get to go and sit through government beauracracy every 3 months

Democrats will use this to ensure only their people have the right passport. It is mirroring the Chinese communist party and its millions of "political apparatiks".

I agree. I’m just not sure what it is. My suspicion is that it’s for a manufactured virus they will release in a year or so that will kill off all of us that didn’t get the vaccine. They kill off the people that have demonstrated that they’ll resist them, and get a little population control as a bonus.

But I’m paranoid and generally crazy, so what do I know...

I am skeptical that your average minimum wage walmart employee will actually enforce this. They stopped challenging me on masks back in October.

About all they could possibly do is program it into the POS, but a simple "i don't have a phone or computer to print out a 'passport'" would probably get you past that if you showed a paper vaccine card. I know lefties love to shit on "people of walmart", but there is some truth to it, especially in stores that aren't in affluent neighborhoods.

Speaking of front line low wage workers -

When we were in Montana for Thanksgiving at Winco the cashier requested ID for the beer I bought. I don't have any state-linked id anymore as my driver license expired during the coof, so I pulled out my passport and handed it to her. It was immediately recognizable that she had never seen a passport before in her life.

Passports are also not scanable in the US without fed computer access.

Back in my university days there were bars that explicitly stated that passports were not a valid form of ID for determining whether or not you were old enough to drink there. Didn't make a lot of sense to me at the time, since they were far more stringent in their requirements for getting one than a drivers' license.

The only place I've been to that actually scans a license is Bevmo, and I don't think those barcodes have much in the way of security features to actually ensure they're generated by a state government.

They're discussing something like that here, too. Luckily I live in a country (Germany) that is as incompetent as it is corrupt when it comes to public IT projects.

It'll just end up like those contact tracing apps: they'll sink millions into consultants and contracts for their friends. The project is going to take so long it's no longer useful by the time they get anywhere, and what little they manage to deliver will be even more retarded and unusable than the design concept they started with.

Another "great" example is our national vaccination campaign website: you either get error messages, maintenance downtime or there are simply no vaccination doses available for months.

Corruption and incompetence can be a blessing in disguise.

Germany

Clearly you have never heard of Amtrak or Medicare.

Imagine spending 65 billion euros to build a rail line from Breisgau to Augsburg, with the promise that for another hundred billion it can be extended to Munich. That's how stupid America is.

Well, we've got Stuttgart 21, a railway project (from Stuttgart to Augsburg) that was supposed to finish 2020 with a cost of 3,3 billion €. They've been upping those numbers every year. At the moment they hope to get it done by 2025 with a cost of 9 billion € (and that's only because of accounting tricks where they split off parts into "separate" projects).

Not quite as much money but the same bullshit. Double and triple digit billions are reserved for "refugees" around here.
