The media is prepping the undocumented tour of the capitol as some big threat to democracy.
I've heard individuals calling the protestors terrorists, terrorists are people you show no pity and execute without a trail.
They did something similar with Trump supporters=nazis to justify violence, silencing and discriminating basically anyone right of center.
How do you guys see this play out and what do center left average people think of all of this?
The establishment has been pretty blatant about its intent to begin labeling American citizens as domestic terrorists.
You’re already starting to see some rumblings within the military and intelligence agencies; fully expect within the next few years to see domestic “counterterrorism” operations to take place. Anti-establishment protests will be met with establishment violence.
And because so many dumb motherfuckers, myself included, like to keep a huge digital footprint and a tracking device in their pocket, it’ll be easy to label, monitor, and punish dissidents at any time. All under the banner of “national security” and “anti-extremism”.
As for the “normies”, well... most people have already demonstrated that they are severely lacking in critical thinking skills. In other words, they will readily accept whatever the official story is until it begins to affect them directly, and even then most of them will grouse, grumble, and probably suffer, but not do much else.
Gotta use a burner phone that was paid with cash. It is also best to not use burner phones right after purchase. Keep it for a few months before activating it. That way, any potential footage of you buying it from the store has been deleted in case they try to track the phone to place of purchase.
Is that possible to do without showing ID? And can you activate it without giving any contact info such as an email address, credit card or other phone number? (And how do you add minutes? I'm pretty sure prepaid credit cards do require ID.)
If you really wanted to be anonymous, you would have to avoid ever having the phone turned on at your home, or in the vicinity of your phones or those of your friends and family.
I don't have the money or time it would take to do this sort of stuff.
Don't know how it looks in US but here in UK we have ton of cellphone stores where you can buy a crappy basic touchscreen phones for less than 100 pounds and some random Lebara starter just to have a number.
No need to show any documents to purchase both.
We really need to start protests to demand secession due to fraud, and then pool military resourses to launch a counter coup and restart the US government.
Worse than 9/11. Despite only said "insurrectionists" having any deaths, no weapons among them, no buildings destroyed. Totally worse than 9/11.
Chuck Schumer said it's like a "day of infamy" like Pearl Harbor.
Have relatives hounding me about this since I voted for Trump. They got mad when I said they couldn’t be bothered to say a peep about the destruction over the summer but can’t shut up about this. Media went into hysterics as expected. They were dumb to do what they did because it was a gift to the media. There is already a Qanon documentary on HBO coming up. And I expect more to come showing how evil we are.
I've seen posts conflating Q conspiracists with Christians, saying that 'these people' can't live with 'reality' and have to be stopped.
Scientism, of course, isn't -really- a religion, so they're fine, and Islam will behead you if you fuck around, so Christians are a nice safe target.
Exactly. Bill Maher may have his issues but he is consistent. He bashed Islam along with other religions. It’s always funny to see these celebrities bash Christianity like they are so brave.
Average people think what they're told.
The country is so polarized that everything is generally seen through a mindset of left vs not left.
The main distinction is between those that still believe the Mainstream media narratives and those who don't believe these false narratives.
A center leftist that believes the MSM is no different than a far leftist when it comes to hating the right irrationally.
The whole left has become a monolith these days when it comes to regurgitating false MSM narratives and hating the right.
"Moderate" center left people are just as likely as the far leftists to hate us all.
That is what scares me. The only reason I think it would not go to far is that Europe would object and the left do care about optics at some level.
But I still think they will start pulling citizens out of their homes and in to reeducation camps. They will just have to think of a good way to frame it.
What optics?
Ask a normie about the French Revolution, Ukraine under Stalin, what happeded in East Geany after Stalin's Red Army won, Cambodia in the 1970s, if they have a clue whether the guillotining, Holodomor, Soviet army mass rape, or the Killing Fields hapoened.
You can do anything you want as long as you're leftist.
Rightly so. What has the right done to stop the far leftists?
The moderates just want things resolved. They'll side with which ever side looks to offer that.
If the right was offering decisive action, like secession, the moderates would give the right more consideration.
The moderates simply follow power. They will eagerly adapt to whoever rules them. Women are particularly inclined to submit to power, as demonstrated by their swiftness to abandon their men in favor of conquering armies.
I suspect here you will find a lot more of us that can see something and separate opinions from facts. That's really been my problem with the normal populace for years. It's why I haven't posted on Reddit in two years now. It started for me with gaming discussion. The inarguable notion that, "X game is objectively good because of Y opinion. You can't argue this because it's objective and not based on opinion." I just had no interest in participating in a forum with such a prevailing mindset.
That mindset is everywhere. "That building behind you is on fire." -- fact. "This is a mostly peaceful protest." -- opinion. "Protestors made it inside the Capitol on January 6." -- fact. "This was a treasonous insurrection and was a threat to democracy." -- opinion Hell, my favorite is from the VP debate, where Harris said "Joe Biden will not ban fracking, that is a fact." That cannot be a fact. It's impossible as it's a prediction of the future.
What has my rant here said about it all? The average person has absolutely zero ability to separate opinion from fact, therefore when they are given an opinion that's presented as a fact, that's what they believe. How does it play out? Well, I think the rest of us are screwed at this point. I wish I had better answers and hopefully they come in time.
Honestly, I think "domestic terrorist" is going to be the new buzzword for anyone who is to the right of Stalin/Mao in ideology. They've run the "alt-right Nazi" label into the ground so they have to go for something even more extreme and polarizing - and with more brutal implications. By branding someone a "terrorist", that gives them free reign to do whatever, without impunity, to that person.
That shit is scary as hell, because if we thought that the violence against anyone to the right of center was bad before, this will escalate it even further. People like Antifa nutballs and BlueAnon conspiracy theorists will feel even more justified in their unpersoning of the individuals they see as threats to their ideology and will act accordingly. Quite honestly, if I were someone with even centrist beliefs, much less right-wing, I'd be seriously considering getting myself on the "trained, armed, and carrying" train if my state/local laws allowed for it. As the saying goes, "God made man, but Smith & Wesson made them all equal." Protect your own freedoms, because the government damn sure isn't going to.
It also means there's really no barrier to entry on domestic terrorism.
The saying was about Samuel Colt.
Thanks for the correction. I either mis-heard it in the past or mis-remembered it.
A radio station I was listening to used the numbers of those who died (for whatever reason) as evidence it was terrorism. Ironic, because one of the hosts also said the capitol police should've gunned down everyone.
last year the one person that called for live ammo to defend government property was excoriated.
pelosi tried to get MACHINE GUN EMPLACEMENTS in the capital, and nothing came of it.
Terrorists are terrifying, scary people. Kind of built into the name, terror-ist, one who works with terror.
People will flock to call the Capitol casuals "terrorists" because they're not scary. Not terrifying. People desperately don't want to be scared, and will buy any product, eat any narrative, believe any cult, that says they don't need to be, that their fears are fools.
Terrorists, REAL terrorists, regularly have kill counts in the 10:1 through 30:1 range. Can you believe if, instead of cheeseburger-induced heart failure and a depressed cop committing suicide at the realization he was attacking innocent civilians, there were ACTUALLY terrorists in the numbers quotes at the Capitol?
America would literally be a desolate wasteland.
Luckily for THE WORLD, they were "bemused-ists" and not "terror-ists", because America falling would screw the entire world. Because if even a FRACTION of the people they're using to market their cult, were ACTUALLY terrorists, America WOULD fall.
The American Revolution involved only about a tenth of the USA population, which is certainly more than appeared at the Capitol, but that was against a formalized external force, AS a formalized internal force. We learned (those of us who read history, at least) in Vietnam that the force multipliers of "fuck you at all costs" and "we don't need to play by YOUR rules of engagement" are tenfold multipliers.
Those are my thoughts as an informed center, but the uninformed center-left likely will be that 2nd paragraph, desperately joining any cult they can. The person who speaks loudest and most confidently, regardless of the truth of their words, will gain their loyalty. A newscaster shouting "Nazi!" at a jewish gay man will be believed over said man, if the man replied timidly and meekly "but... my optics!".
In Britain, it is a criminal offense to call one of your glorious overlords "nazi", but it is entirely legal for them to call you one, because shouting mean words DOES work, and they need to deprive that weapon from their victims.

First google result on searching is NOT the one I was looking for, but included for completeness, but that case involved an email being sent, not just someone ranting and raving in public.
This one: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-49050288 Was the case I was thinking of. Arrested for, in a protest area, calling one of their Dear Leadership a Nazi.
It will be remembered fondly. Just not this second.
Here me out:
Most of the people there were angry about the lockdown and how it had effected their family and livelihood. 155 days of intentional rioting. Refusing to prosecute felony crimes, and intentionally prosecuting innocent people for self defense.
This 'raid', effectively, will be looked at in the future by people who are even more oppressed than we currently are today, as what a bunch of disorganized fuckwits can do with mere agitation alone.
Let's say that South Dakota's governor decides not to abide by some new Domestic Terror law, nor any new COVID-22 mandatory lockdown orders, nor is willing to implement at digital currency. As the government responds badly to each act of defiance, they will strip funding, impose punitive actions, file federal lawsuits, institute lockdowns with federal law enforcement, and maybe even just straight up arrest the governor and quarantine the state legislature.
People in red areas and blue areas will suddenly remember, that chuckle-fuck boomers seized the Capitol for a few hours, and after 2-4 years of the Biden Harris administration, they will realize the empower has no clothes.
Power is fundamentally illusory.
Those boomers proved it. As shit gets worse, people will remember that more, and they will realize that power, even when it's holding a gun, is still illusory. It requires compliance, that is why civil disobedience is so dangerous.
Prepping? Where have you been?
(The same time warp TheAndredal came from?)
The did all this, very successfully, back in January.
They and their lies already won.
It was a fucking riot not a insurrection. At least this riot only lasted one day unlike a certain other group.
