This is part of what makes the event exciting to me. OWS got blindsided by an unfamiliar strategy and was wrecked. But this strategy has been abused so much since then that people are basically innoculated against it. So I'm excited to see if I'm right, and people are relying on their own convinctions more than the mainstream media's decrees.
One major boon is that this event has no physical presence nor any leadership. The easy fed weakpoints are gone.
Better late than never. If you're a social player, good luck getting your friends on board.
because I don't have friends that play it otherwise
Enter vidya. If you'd like to try mtg, try Shandalar, the old pc game. Do -not- bother with any mtg vidya made this century, they are all trash. Shandalar isn't well known because wotc chose to memory hole it (I'd do the same thing if I was trying to sell garbage).
If you want to try Yugioh, there's a big selection of vidya titles. I haven't even tried half of them, but it seems to only require a small amount of research to find an adequate entry. Personally recommend older here because I think the newer mechanics are silly.
Agreed, but I highly doubt we'll see that here.
Incidentally, this is also the fatal flaw of bitcoin. The limited supply means that its value will increase indefinitely, which means it will almost always be better to hold your bitcoin than to use it.
Neatly sums up my position. I've heard about how the value changes for it. It screams pyramid scheme to me since more people using/mining means all previously gained coins increase in value. But I can't give a proper explanation to it because I'm mostly reading my gut feelings.
Decentralization efforts are great and all, but it's no magic wand to erase problems.
If there were some kind of crypto that had no inflation or deflation, I'd be excited for it, but I haven't figured out a reliable way for that to exist. The desire to reconvert into other currencies kind of forces value fluctuation, so my best guess is to make an isolated currency that cannot be exchanged for other currencies.
From what I remember hearing a couple years ago, primarily community service things like cleaning public spaces. Harmless, but taking such action shows the local government that they aren't needed to fulfill all the roles they would like to.
Hard to recall hearing much about them outside of protests or scuffles.
They have quite a few, I believe.
Really? That's interesting. Same type of activities as in the US? That'd probably explain why, if so; their activities promote community health, which sets back efforts to fully atomize the population.
No official dismissals yet, right? I'm sure there's gonna be some businesses that would be ecstatic to hire such people.
Maybe militias will have a surge as well.
But, yeah, good message.
I would have seconded it, but by the time I heard about the move here, the names were set in stone. Not very happy about there being no discussion/vote over the name, but at least we have a place to talk here.
I think there's a simpler reason. If they show up in person, their faces and names can be discerned, allowing Amazon to keep a record of how each person voted. Of course, I don't know exactly how this mail-in procedure is going to be handled, so maybe they still can with an extra bribe.
It's hard to sympathize with either side, personally. Unions are a great idea that's kind of turned into a joke. At the same time, corporations are so absolutely assblasted over unions that they successfully pushed "diversity is our strength" because of some studies that showed it would make unions more rare.
That's a fair evaluation. I'll try them again in a month or two.
But as far as ideal "how would it work," just having a more organic version of Reddit is a start. No (or minimal) shilling, no tyrant mods removing stuff they shouldn't, no brigading. The content would only need to be people talking about new things they tried or upcoming things they want to talk about. That'd be good enough for me.
I get your point about the boycotting, but if I don't keep an ear to the ground, I'll miss any indie creator trying to bring new life to the wasteland. Yet, there's too much junk being produced for me to possibly parse it all through inefficient formats like youtube or journalists/reviewers.
I had an argument in response to this, but then I read a few threads over there. Even 4chan/v will be more useful than the current state of that sub. I just wanted to read about new games.
Marriage is gone. The family is gone. The middle class is gone. The culture is gone. The nation is gone.
This is merely atomization, no? I firmly believe that an atomized man is not without hope, but it does become far more difficult to move forward when you're completely alone.
I was actually thinking this morning after waking up, that it'd make a great modern children's book series to teach little boys how to grow up in the black pit of atomization. Of course, the ideal is to prevent and cure the atomization - but that's up to the adults around each child, and some will refuse to give their child a happy life. It is for those unfortunate children that I am thinking of what tips I could give.
I want to say some Nietzsche lessons could apply, but I've been too lazy to go over his work again. It is a rather modern problem, though, so any final form would be a new philosophy.
I think he also threatened to disband the CIA? Your point is stronger, though - the federal reserve is way off limits.
Well, they haven't been told that they won. They think their enemies are still at large. They cannot know peace until all of their foes have been vanquished. Even if their enemies were all gone, they'd keep looking for them, forever, until they're told that they're happy now.
I'd pity them if they weren't trying to destroy me.
I hope you weren't taking them seriously when they claimed to only want to clean up "their" spaces.
It was a joy at the time, but now voat is gone, isn't it? They didn't exactly win that battle, but we suffered a loss.
An excellent point, but would that come after the destruction of farmer's markets? Or perhaps all non-processed foods would simply be taxed to hell and back? Or maybe even require a loicense to cook your own food?
I'm not even gonna bother trying to read it. Screencapping is not an art, but it at least requires enough care to ensure that most screens can fit the width of the image. Needing to scroll in all four directions to read a bunch of text is a straight Nope.
made in Unreal Engine so it looks good
Sarcasm? It looks awful. I was able to enjoy it after forcing my eyes to glaze over all the visual problems. Perhaps I could blame the director for the lack of cohesive artistic direction, but that was Iga's choice, just like referencing outside games and anime.
I also am not impressed with Iga's childish hate-boner for Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. He's been open about thinking it's a mockery of the franchise, yet he took the innovations it laid out with no qualms. He went out of his way to subtitle his Bloodstained spinoff Circle of the Moon just to try to override the title relevance. Really makes me want to see the Circle of the Moon guys come back and btfo Iga with innovations again.
To Iga's credit, though, I have loved many of his games.
I like the idea of it, but unfortunately they didn't like the idea of having it work on my operating system.
But if you're going to agitate someone into a fight, you have to have someone that's willing to get into one.
You're assuming that's the only victory condition present. If it were 100% paid actors that went into ("stormed") the capital, would that shut it all down and media would just say aw phooey? The victory condition for the event was a smear job, which can be done entirely without consent.
I'll present a generous argument for what you're interpreting as backpedaling. They want no claim to the event because they didn't feel like they got a chance to participate. The job was done badly, wasn't it? I'd be pretty irritated if I got blamed for a bad job done by some jerk wearing my symbols when I was still preparing to do the job right. But I wouldn't give up afterwards, so we'll only really know if this is true by the end of the month.
I hope you at least have a close friend to talk to; being able to simply vent your concerns and frustrations without fear can be a huge buffer to stability. You found this place, so you're clearly resisting subversion.
Dreams is a big topic, and I don't feel like I'm qualified to address it, with the state my own life is in.
I'd add in some physical training and learning how to survive without electricity.
This shit troubles me a lot - kids being pushed into engaging in political strife. They've got a lot going on in their minds and hearts already, they don't need the extra stress. I've got extended family telling me about how their elementary school kids are politically involved and it takes a lot for me to not lecture them.
Could you at least describe these books?
