I agree with most of your conclusion, however, Petersen vilified his fan base and rightfully they reciprocated sentiment. It would be doing a disservice to the situation at large to reduce his continued path on the side of evil as an "oopsie."
I play magic the gathering at a local game shop every week and there is some insufferable dude who helps create board games and is currently between jobs. The amount of bitching I heard this guy do was next level. He was like chicken little, waving his hands in the air explaining how the tariffs were going to end the board game industry and the modern world with it. It gave me a little bit of enjoyment, to be honest.
The game of magic is awesome, but it has been woke-ified. In the new sets, all of the angels are black women, lol. All of the bad people are always white. And they’ve removed a handful of cards that no one asked them to because they might offend someone who doesn’t even play the game.
They know that /pol is one of the last bastions of free speech on the internet, and if they shut it down all of the ideas contained therein will be spread back throughout the internet, so instead they use the plan of attack which involves flooding the board with so much bullshit that users become disinterested in posting there. I’ve learned a lot on that website, but it has gotten almost unbearable with all of the JIDF posts, and that was BEFORE the Kamala bullshit.
It’s literally more tangible and functional than 99% of cryptos so I don’t know how you get off on calling them stupid when you’re doing something even dumber.
