It's funny how quiet they've all been recently about the Texas electricity issues, since for the last two years after the issues because of a 100 year winter event all I've heard how the evil right wingers are responsible for the dilapidated state of the power grid in Texas. National sources loved to talk about how great they were and Texas was so so bad. Until this summer when it's been over 100 for the better part of two months in much of the state, and well, the electricity is fine.
They have gotten worse at that, sure. Still helps me a ton. I also use for many of the two-factor authentication things that don't seem to care. If they want my actual cell I decide if it's worth it or not. Often that leans it to not.
I wonder who was in charge when they demolished a 100 year old cathedral in Moscow? Oh wait, it was Stalin. I'm not sure blessing a statue would even have been allowed under Stalin, but I'm going to go with probably not, being that atheism was the official Soviet position.
I keep a cheap voip number for most sites. I'm not very integrated into big tech though. I was never a big user anyway, but I totally disconnected from all of them. Almost everything I've said controversial would be limited to here and I suppose a tiny bit on Reddit that's been nuked for almost 3 years now. I don't think Reddit was ever on my actual e-mail address. This site doesn't have my e-mail. They'd have to use my IP to match me up, which might work ok for a hostile takeover of the site and possibly my ISP or middle-men like Cloudflare.
Still, I'm not naive enough to think I'm not constantly tracked despite my measures. I just try to not be the easiest in an algorithm and keep from being a product to big tech as much as I can. If the government wants to get me, well my name is kinda unique and it's not like they can't just look up my address in some tax records. It's not going to take much. I tried to tell some January 6 people that was a trap for the very same reasons. If you're going for something like that, either have to win or have an incredibly solid plan of ingress/egress that involves leaving cell phones behind, not flying to DC, not renting a car to drive there, perhaps not using your own car, measures to evade surveillance. Even then, you're likely to fail at it.
Of course they support it. They even directly say you can still have a car if you're rich.
So far only here. I can't see it working. I had to go to an actual work meeting last week, and even the one guy left with a mask previously had moved on. What friends I had that bought in all quit in 2021. If they wanted the first virus to be effective for future scares, it needed to actually kill some people. I mean how far do you have to stretch to find someone who really died from Covid?
There's nothing wrong with that. The ones that piss me off are the ones that expect their standard of living to maintain or increase with at best worthless effort on their part. Then when it doesn't happen they scream for the government to give it to them. They can't wait for the communism so they can just enjoy their free shit while relaxing and working on their art, but only when they feel like it. If someone won't contribute enough value that others even want their services, then they can piss off and I don't give a shit if their standard of living declines to a soggy cardboard box.
I'm also not much into the doomer blackpill attitude anyway. I don't want to live my life agitated all the time. Do the best I can to notice and improve things, sure. Give up, throw in the towel, and live out the rest of my life in the shittiest and most disgruntled way possible because it's all hopeless anyway? No.
I'd just revise every story future and past to be a average mid 30s about 5'9" and slightly overweight man. Give their own medicine right back to them.
I remember my parents talking about buying the house they lived in when I was born in the early 80s for 30k. Yeah, it was a shanty by modern standards but I clearly haven't frozen or starved to death so it must have done it's job. My mom always talked so great about the neighbors and such too. I barely remember it we moved around when I started school. I think I've heard my Dad made something like 20k or 25k salary at the time. Totally do-able for a functional house even with crazy interest.
I often wonder so many of the ones that scream that everything is so awful have ever actually had it bad. The things I read never sound like actual poor people, just ones that perceive the world has come to an end for them because the delusions of riches they were promised aren't going to come true. Maybe it just the last 15 years of my life watching just how spoiled all the kids seem. They complain now because they grew up expecting a new toy every time they went to the store, a plethora of streaming services for music and video they've always had whenever they wanted, eating out possibly every day and getting what they want instead of having to deal with whatever mystery casserole was put on the table. These are the ones in the screeching media who grew up and just can't realize that when times get tough, all this shit you expect is just another luxury item.
Seems like the leftists have taken over priest school, priest university, or whatever it is. This guy (I guess) looks like a butch lesbian.
Has FEMA ever been good at anything? Abolish it, give us our tax money back, and let charity and volunteer efforts do their job.
Looks like just another "our democracy" article. Lefties are a majority because we the all knowing media say they are. Poor lefties can't get what they want because the evil righty minority is able to have influence. We the all knowing media demand you be scared because you can't cut off dicks and murder babies.
The US is not a democracy, it is a republic. It's been ruined enough by the constant amendments to expand voting. Everyone should not get a vote for a reason. Earn your right to vote by doing something other than existing. "Our democracy" is some made up bullshit so a bunch of lazy communist fucks can get free shit until it all collapses.
I don't think I'd spend 30 seconds to download that mod. I'd have to regularly pause the game and take screenshots to compare to even have any chance of noticing the difference.
Maybe if they made that chick not so damn ugly it would be better. She looks awful.
What would you prefer? Should I suggest he fling himself off a cliff?
Someone who continued to win office overwhelmingly despite this all being out in the open for years. The people have already spoken. The only ones that care about any of those allegations are raging leftists.
I stayed out of that most of the time because I was well, shit, and why be the ass-end of everyone's talk? I also had no interest in whatever nigger music that tended to require constant muting.
Still, there was so much more wit in chat in those days. Now it's just like one word insults and responses of "omg reported you're toxic"
I was thinking things like trig being outside of childhood education. I guess it's still childhood technically but I wasn't clear. I might end up being a trig teacher in a year or two for my cousin if I can manage it. We don't live in the same town and I'm not sure I'll be of much use trying to homeschool trig over the phone, but I'll try.
Still, I don't think we can totally rid of a more formal education at a certain point. Just I would gear it towards work and it would start as a younger teen and not a nearly 20 year old. Only in fields where it would be needed and not set to a certain age.
I'm sure my plan is full of holes, but well this is all so broken as it is that I wonder if there is even a solution.
It's a system so broken it needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Most of the childhood education is perfectly fine at home with no specialized teachers.
There's loads of problems with this in the modern society though. Responsibility for education has to fall on the kids parents, period. That means there will have to be a ton more nuclear families. The few kids that are left out because their parent died or was a rare divorce can school with their friends families. None of this works in cities because they all hate each other and at least half of them won't even bother at all, so they won't get any education and will end up stupider than they are now. At a certain point the notion of trying to pick everyone up has to stop though. It sucks because they are kids that essentially have to be left to crash and burn, but we can't keep cutting everyone else's legs off to make them equal to the one who has no legs.
I don't see society as a whole ever getting fixed this drastically, so the only fix I can come up with is do it yourself on whatever scale you can manage, and gatekeep the bullshit out aggressively.
I figured after 2022 they had that down. Those elections were full of it anyway.
I have been expecting some sort of crisis though. There's no way they will want to go through an election without their people being agitated.
My first thought was why all of these supposed leaks about a lockdown coming for whatever reason. It seems like if someone is going to leak it, they would know about the reasoning, but there's multiple leaks for multiple reasons about Biden bringing back a lockdown.
I could definitely live in Kansas. I don't think I'd want to be in the west. That's a bit too remote for me. I stayed in Wichita a few years ago, I would have no problem being in the sub-suburbs of there or a nearby small town.
Honestly, I like Texas and I've lived here almost 15 years, but the influx of business is not going to be good for the state. I'm pretty well set in a house I have on reasonable terms in an area that shouldn't grow up too much now, so I stay because I have no friends elsewhere. If suddenly all my friends disappeared I'd be looking to move. I'm glad I moved out of growing metro suburbia hell 6 years ago. It's just getting too busy and there's corporate offices and stuff popping up all over the place.
I like small town culture and society much more than urban anyway, so I'm good there. Unless you mean the Reddit definition of culture, to which I'll just say you can buy avocados, bread, coffee, a toaster, and a coffee pot at the nearest Walmart that can be found anywhere in the US. Still there's a problem. I'd start with cutting off foreign purchase of land myself.
Family I get. They don't make it easy either. I'm not that far away and visit quite a bit and still my mom will make you feel like every second should revolve around being "her" family. I'm trying to build relationships with people that will still be around the last 40 years of my life though. It's gotten where most of the travel I do is to see family anymore, but I want to actually have something with my nephews and cousins down the road. I guess it's actually saved me money. I can stay with my brother for free so that helps once I get myself there.
My landlord response comes from the incessant whining elsewhere where they think the landlord only exists to screw them. It's a reflexive thought. Not really a thing on this site to constantly landlord bash.
Wow, $800 a month. Maybe I should move. That's not much more than I was paying for my first apartments close to 20 years ago.
I wonder who would administer that test? Let me guess the only question would be "Are you white?" at which point it just says you failed.
