I'm not making anything up, this is what you said:
are incapable of making art without stealing from online sources ( This is why they need to stay connected to the internet )
Please enlighten me on what this is supposed to mean, if not you saying it "steals" images from the internet when you make a prompt. If you were really just saying it has to be trained on images, then 1. that's obvious because every type of AI has to be trained so why even mention it, and 2. what does "stay connected to the internet" mean if it can be run offline?
Because putting your seal on a blue flag is the laziest "flag" design and way too many states use it. There's a reason why flags like Texas's are instantly recognizable, and half the rest of the states the average person wouldn't be able to get in 10 guesses.
I hate how weak people are these days. Being on the internet since probably a far too young age, I learned to not care what people say about you, especially when it's some complete stranger on the other side of the world, because who cares? They don't know you personally, and for all you know they're just trying to get a reaction out of you and don't actually believe whatever they're saying.
But people nowadays have their lives even more intertwined with the internet, and it's only gotten worse. I don't know if it's just because of widespread narcissism or something else, but it's insane. The slightest jab at anyone, or even a misunderstood message, and people act like you killed their dog.
I mean, I don't think it's necessarily wrong. The few (emphasis on few) people who do decide to be obnoxious because there happens to be a girl playing are usually pretty trashy, bad at the game, and rage quit if they get killed 3 times in a row.
I probably misinterpreted your original post, but it was written exactly like how many anti-AI lefties make their arguments. For example again here you said
Even if you don't literally mean "the AI program is using Google when you enter a prompt", anti-AI people on the social medias do literally think that's how it works.
But I don't see how AI is "stealing" anything. Not anymore than any human artist would be "stealing" by getting inspiration from other people's art, which is what every single artist does.
I do agree with you that people overhype it a lot. I've seen way too many people using ChatGPT as a source as if it's a font of knowledge, and not just an advanced Markov chain.
