Here is another thing: the current information landscape allows these sorts of people to blissfully go through life without being exposed to information that challenges their opinions. This is because all the major institutions are controlled by people just like them. The right does not have this luxury, because of how pervasively leftist all the institutions are, so naturally a conservative has their beliefs challenged many times over the years.

For me, personally, I don't bother engaging with progtards any more. BATF has a 50 year long history of making shit up as they go when it comes to prosecuting people for NFA violations. All sort of legal standards they use to prosecute people are entire fabrications concocted out of thin air. Constructive possession is one example, they will charge people with unlicensed possession of a suppressor just for having all the parts to make one, whether you were going to put one together or not. There is no legal language anywhere in the NFA that allows this, but it is a BATF regulation anyway, because they get to make shit up as they go along.

Another thing is there is no written standard their Technical branch follows when it comes to classifying something a firearm or not, or an NFA item or not. It is all professional opinion.
