Three years ago I would have thought you were just being sarcastic or hyperbolic. How quickly things have gone downhill...

It's all the fault of Jan van Riebeeck for arriving here in 1652.

On a slightly less sarcastic note, one of my favourite quotes from politicians here was our minister of education, in 2012:

"One of the points we found was a problem in Maths and Science. It was [Apartheid-era President] Verwoerd who made the subjects difficult because he thought blacks would be a threat to him."

Literally "the white man made maths difficult on purpose to keep a black brother down".

Yeah, it's party internal election season here, so all the usual suspects are crawling back out of the woodwork.

The question I have here is:

a) Did one of the puppet-masters prod him into making a noise again in order to stir up racial tensions (for the n-th time) in order to distract the masses from the rising cost of living, food price hikes, electricity brownouts, etc., or

b) Did he see the rising discontent and just try to shoehorn his way back into the limelight on his own accord?

For those that don't know, this guy is your typical populist agent provocateur that riles people up into frothing mobs that only see things in terms of black and white skin.

He is also the textbook case of a champagne communist: he'll put on his fancy Italian tailored suit, put on his expensive Swiss watch, then climb into his luxury German sedan, and drive from his little villa in a gated neighbourhood to go and campaign in the slums, where he tells everyone that they're (including himself) are all "poor workers" being oppressed by "white monopoly capital".

Never mind the fact that the majority party in the country has been black for 27 years and that reverse racism "affirmative action" laws have become only more and more stringent as they double-down on their plan that does nothing but enrich the nepotistic and crony capitalist inclined.

I have no faith in modern Rockstar being able to make a good GTA game, but I have to ask, are these actual leaks, or are they just making up shit to farm outrage clicks?

It's a good thing George doesn't live in the UK, otherwise he'd have gotten a visit from the police for, and I quote, "being untoward against paedophiles".

A blessing for all my fellow creatively inclined bigots who have run out of world building ideas, last spurred on by our esteemed think tanks behind The Great Reset.

Behold our globalist overlord's latest idea: a 100 mile long exercise in social decay and behavioural sinks. A modern reimagining of the urban renewal disasters of yesteryear, commieblocks now available in shiny new mirror finish, Kowloon Walled City but this time we'll get it right. Hive cities, but without the God-Emperor to protect our children from demonic entities which strut around proudly amongst us, getting high off our unconditional and limitless tolerance. Megacities, except instead of Judges, you'll have social workers coming around to have you sent to re-education camps for not practicing Sustainability. The advertisements offer you the Forest Arcology, but instead you end up getting the Darco Arcology, with even more abominations scurrying through the air ducts.

But fret not, you won't have to worry about anything because everything will be centrally planned by government and Experts, so you can rest in assurance that nothing could ever possibly go wrong, and when it does, it'll actually be a good thing, and they'll tell you why. All you need to do is be fearful of what they tell you to, and panic on demand. The Algorithm will tell you where to go, so that you'll never have to make any decisions that might end up in you making socially disharmonious decisions. And we all know how hard it is to balance the rigors of modern life, so we'll take care of managing all the dull mundane details such as how much heating, electricity, or meat-replacement rations you need to spend your Corporate Chits on.

Equality is our strength, and that is why the government is here to help by taking your hard earned money, and mismanaging it in new and creative ways, in order to provide the wrong solution, to problems that don't exist, horrendously over budget and overdue on schedule. Remember, we're all in this together, and that is why you don't need to have any say in how we use your money to continue our decades and centuries of hard work in ensuring a never ending supply of oppression.

Welcome to our new, green, sustainable, equitable future. We hope you enjoy your stay.

I was binge-watching Milton Friedman videos a few weeks ago, and someone asked him whether he supports immigration into the USA, with the context that the USA was settled and built by immigrants.

His response was that you can either have immigration, or you can have welfare, but you cannot have both.

As soon as welfare enters the equation, the reason that people want to emigrate into your country change for the worse. Instead of mostly attracting hard working people who were driven enough to move to a new country and build up their own wealth for themselves and their family, you attract ungrateful people who are encouraged to come in and squander welfare that they did not work for.

It still blows my mind that some people, somewhere, thought that sending the police to investigate people for "non-crime hate incidents" would be a good idea.

That reminds me of that episode from The Outer Limits, If These Walls Could Talk. Except instead of the walls eating you alive, they, well, yeah.

Which ironically hurts the diversity hires in the long run, because they're being coddled instead of being encouraged to improve themselves.

I miss the good old days when you could speak honestly and tell someone straight to their face that they're being an idiot.

These days, someone can fuck up royally and put peoples lives at danger, but if you make a negative comment, they feign a nervous breakdown and you have to deal with HR.

I live in South Africa. I hoped that the rest of the world would look at how badly affirmative action worked out in practice for everyone here, and that they would have avoided making the same mistake.

Instead, it seems the entire West has doubled down on hiring people who are not only incapable of doing the job, but who have no intent or desire of actually learning how to do to the job.

When I started working in 2004, yes, the number of older staff who were white and male was disproportionate compared to the demographics. However: a) they were competent, b) they got shit done, and c) the distribution of the younger staff was closer to the local population. When someone got hired or promoted, you just thought "Oh, they must be good at their job."

Fast forward to today: If a female "PoC" gets hired, the assumption is always that they only got the job because of "diversity", and HR will blatantly tell people that they won't even make the shortlist because they're forced to pick candidates based on skin colour and sex in order to meet government quotas.

Ironically, if a white person or a male gets a job, people will assume they must be damn good at their job if HR had to accept the decision to hire them instead of a diversity hire.

In closing, as ghostfox said, the only reason things haven't been run completely into the ground is because the competent people are busting their asses off working double time to cover for these people.

The responses were amusing.

"Yuck!" "Gross!" "Icky!"

Now if you'll excuse me, I will be going to being insecure that, unlike in videogames, I can't run around with a 2 meter long broadsword smacking dragons in the face.

It is truly problematic that games make so lightly of this Lived Reality of mine.
