Not really surprising, however.

If you see a consistent tactic abused time and time again that boils down to 'your tribe did something bad to my tribe in the past, and now you must pay for it', the obvious way to fix this is to make sure said tribe doesn't exist anymore.

No more tribe, no more problem.

There is a reason why most lawful civilizations disregard the idea of 'the sins of the father are the sins of the son', yet here we fucking are.

Games Workshop as a company has been around for over forty years (holy shit) and it shows in alot of their business philosophy. While they're very innovative in some areas(such as their book kindle releases and obscene number of audiobooks), they're positively primordial in others.

They want total and absolute control over thier IP, all thier products are obscenely over-priced(models AND books), and they refuse to innovate or adapt to the times in any way that forces them to not have dictorial powers over thier brands.

In many ways, they are schizo - they simultaneously act like a company that's making a very niche product that sells only to people with high levels of cash to spend, while turning around and trying to 'broaden thier market share'. They dip thier toes into putting out animated shorts of various types, then immeadiately gate-keep the fucking things behind a goddamn streaming paywall. Tried to make a kid-friendly series of Warhammer 40K books(wtf?). Fan-created series that made more people interested in Warhammer and it's associated brands than Games Workshop EVER has in any way shape or form gets crushed, ruthlessly, and tossed to the winds because GW can't have anything they're not in control of.

Asartes was a work of fucking art, had professional film makers gushing over how increadiable it was in terms of design on multiple levels, was actually creative and making up new stuff and new mysteries that has people still talking about it, had people who had NEVER heard of Warhammer before going 'Holy shit, this is AWESOME, I want MORE' -

  • and they basically just snatched the guy up and brutally murdered any future Asartes-like series in the fucking cradle.

Yeah. I fucking hate GW. Every time I have a small inkling of potentially getting into wargaming as a hobby, I just remind myself how horribly they are.

I mean, pretty sure that the majority in-charge are... well... jewish.

Didn't someone do an infograph on the religious denomination of all the people in charge of the various news agencies? And, well...

Or porn - excuse me, 'romance' novels, which absolutely dominates all novel sales in the United States to a disturbing degree. Like, 'over 50% of novels sold' disturbing degree.

One element that the Japanese love to include in their writings is this thing called 'Unreliable Narrator'. It's far, far more common in visual and light novels, and I wouldn't doubt that the Chinese have similar in their own novels. And Koreans. And so on, and so forth.

Thing is, this typically confuses the ever-loving fuck out of Americans. Normies, even in niche hobbies, can't wrap their heads around it. The idea of an 'unreliable narrator' in western literature is horrendously rare, and often seen as 'groundbreaking' when present and noticed. The idea that the protagonist is openly lying to your face? Unbelievable. To the western audience, atleast. Yet, in the eastern literature, it's far more common.

This probably says a whole hell of alot about the respective cultures.

It's mocap.

Pretty sure she got smacked badly with 'TLoU2' treatment, where they took the appearance of the original actress and uglified it.

Nothing new or surprising, really. Just... fairly typical behavior for progressives.

As much as I'd like for this to end up being true, well... I'll believe it when I see it.

You don't go to Harvard for an education. You go for the name, prestige, and the horrendous, blatant nepotism that let's you get ahead in life.

Fingers crossed, I suppose.

Afghanistan should have taught people many lessons, Biden's cataclysmic leadership fuck-ups among them.

I doubt it took. The reason they shrieked like stuck pigs at the NPC meme is because it hit too close to home for the majority of them.

Don't worry, sweetie. I'm well aware of groomer's tendency toward random and state-backed violence, and taken it into account for present and future decision making.

Men have no social power nowadays to come down and tell their daughters 'stop acting like a whore'.

If they do, they get crucified. Even by other men.

Men aren't stupid - even soycucks. So they try and twist it around and mumble something about female empowerment and do everything possible to ignore the fact that the little girl they spent all that time nurturing and growing is going to end up a wasted and abused whore.

For good boy points.

If I ever have kids, having a daughter is not on my list of things to do.

There are times I think things like this are just some sort of twisted sexual fantasy they got way in over their heads about.

Other time I think they're just fucking stupid.

It could go fifty-fifty, really.

We don't even need the oil. US production(when not being hampered by politics) can see net export of Oil, even with the Middle East doing whatever the fuck they want.

There's probably some whack-ass reason involving a combination of Japanese IP laws, said Japanese companies not giving a fuck, with the added potential of 'It's free advertising' for said companies.

But I could be completely off.

It's also ignoring the other half of the parable - 'as thyself'.

You expect your neighbor to comport themselves as a good, faithful Christian of virtue, acting in good faith. Because you expect the same of yourself. Just as you expect others to police you and guide you back if you should be lead astray.

I'm beginning to think that the most evil thing one can do in an argument or philosophy is strip them of context. Scripture, history, science - you can twist and deform anything and everything to support even the most gruesome of acts if you strip it of context and let them stand alone, without circumstance.

That said, in reply to Op, I'd have to say 'turn the other cheek' is right up there, neck and neck, as the most misused bible verse.

I liked alot of the early marvel movies because they didn't treat me like a fucking idiot or insult my intelligence.

Weird as that is to say.

With 99% of most hollywood movies pre-marvel, the expectation is that the person watching it is dumb as a box of rocks. (They're right, but work with me here.)

As such, there is a lack of trust that you understand what's actually going on. So the story tends to belabor the fucking point, or ham it up with voice-overs constantly and constantly explaining shit, or the movie repeatedly hitting you metaphorically over the head with 'THIS IS WHAT'S HAPPENING PAY ATTENTION'.

A blatant example I like to use is Dark City. If you've never watched it, I highly, highly recommend it. Excellent movie. If you like your Noir mysteries with a side of eldritch horror, buckle the fuck up. But, fair warning - watch the version that doesn't spoil the entire fucking movie in the opening voice over.

Why does it have a voice over? Because hollywood producers thought that people wouldn't understand what was going on without it.

To contrast, as stupid as Captain Marvel was, and as poorly done, it atleast just pushed me into the deep end and expected me to catch up on my lonesome during the first 30 minutes of the film.

That was one of the big warning signs in 'Thor: Love and Thunder'. They did it in a... look, alot of that movie was stupid, but the fact that they actually had a fucking re-cap to explain all the shit that's happened up until that point was a blatant display of 'things have changed alot for the worse'.

So, yeah. That's why I actually like alot of marvel stuff, pre-Endgame.

Daily reminder that Crunchyroll got their business started by making money off of other people's fansubs of anime.

They're a piece of shit company. Don't give them money.

This is a subset of people whom refuse to acknowledge that leadership actually accounts for anything.

1
Grant_us_eyes 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't see how

Leadership.

It's been a while since I've done my classes on military history, but IIRC, post 1812 is when you saw the development of dedicated military academies that would actively train for military leadership.

All the who's-who of the Civil War on both sides were cut from that cloth. No 1812, and you'd probably get a much different environment in terms of military leadership.

Could be wrong, though. This is mostly my musings off the cuff.

I'm still amazed how a good chunk of women view virgins with disgust.

There was a video clip of Vtubers I stumbled across the other day, where one of the men casually admitted to being a virgin.

You could literally hear the disappointment in one of the woman's voice. It was startling. She got mocked for it and tried to backpedal, but it was definitely a lesson to take away.

The idea of a standing army was very anathema to alot of the Founding Fathers, and up until the war of 1812 there was a prevalent mythology that the Revolutionary War was won by local militia standing up against the British. (Realistically, it's an idea still prevalent to this day.)

The idea of a standing, professional military eliete would have caused several of the Founding Fathers to absolute loose thier goddamn shit. But, sadly, reality prevailed, and both the war of 1812 and later on the Mexican-American war proved the need for a cadre of trained, professional soldiers and leaders.

Interesting to consider that if the US hadn't tried to invade Canada, the Civil War would have ended up very different.

The schizo liberal in action. Name the jew and they loose their fucking minds. But they turn around and jerk themselves off at the notion of Isreal getting pushed into the sea.

9
Grant_us_eyes 9 points ago +9 / -0

I'm more confused that whomever's jerking Biden's chain didn't just quietly put out a memo to shut up or get fucked on the matter.

I mean, why bother? They clearly haven't given a shit up until now(quite the opposite), and this gives the more... hmm, aggressive? Yeah, let's go with aggressive - republican politicians more ammo in the box to use.

Makes me wonder if they're seeing some intel that made them realize things are actually far worse than they realized on a number of levels.

Likely still a groomer.

Society really doesn't want to start asking itself 'Wait, how many young women would want to be around young, virile men they can abuse power over?'

And so society lives in blissful ignorance yet another day and quietly tries to ignore the woman sexually abusing their students.

I'm not seeing it. The farthest I'd go is 'okay'.

If there's one thing that grates that I've noticed in recent years, it's that castings for any type of alien that has 'unnatural' skin, they cast a fucking black person. Just... Yeah, I know why they do it, but fuck is it annoying.
