Still slightly better than the "I reincarnated as the weakest monster but little does everyone know I got all the OP skills of the game" sentence vomit that Japanese isekai titles have.

The first one's story wasn't great. It was decent, but what people liked was the BACKSTORY. The tale of Ted Faro fucking over the entire human race not once but twice due to his retarded stupidity cemented him as one of the worst human beings to ever exist. And the first time he didn't just fuck over the entire human race, but made Earth's whole biosphere extinct because he didn't think his perpetual motion killing machines needed a killswitch in case something went wrong.

But Aloy's story is just okay. She plays the "smartest caveman" cliche to a T, but really the reason characters are so impressed with her is because she tells everyone she's from the Nora tribe - which is the tribe with the gimmick of being the stupid Amish while all the other tribes are advancing through civilization. So Aloy, who actually grew up segregated from the Nora and has been completely reliant upon advanced technology to tell her how to survive and fight, knows a bit of how to fight and track things makes people easily impressed by her.

And since Aloy does the Strong Independent Woman thing, there aren't any secondary characters who are memorable. Can't have a boyfriend, can't have a family (albeit there's a plot reason why), can't have a deep emotional connection with anyone else. This isn't the worst thing, since most of the game is just you enjoying the lush environment and fighting robot animals and dinosaurs, but it makes it difficult if you're going to make a show. Not to mention how expensive it would be between depicting a post-apocalyptic Earth and all the robots to fight.

Apparently there are some pretty damning receipts, both Whatsapp text records and pictures.

Remember, this is a guy who has boasted for years about his open marriage with his wife, and for years people have talked about how he likes to flirt with young women and teenage girls doing his book events. So this is a guy with an established history of depravity to begin with.

Yeah people have been quick to point out that the Supreme Court has just given the OK to let the President do a whole bunch of terrible shit. If people were scared of Biden being corrupt, they should be shitting their pants now.

Daucus9 -7 points ago +3 / -10

So President Biden can just do whatever the hell he wants so long as it's an "official" act? as President??

This is true for all types of surrogacy. There isn't an ethical way to do it: by paying money it's incentivizing impoverished women, but not paying money is even worse. Pregnancy takes a toll on a woman's body, carries health risks even with healthy women, requires doctor and hospital visits, and arguably deprives a woman from engaging with starting her own family during her best breeding years.

The episode is not about saving Earth. It's not about rediscovering humanity. It's not even about mourning our loss. The loss of Earth is a background detail, and its point is that you don't matter, your time is at an end, and you just have to deal with it if you want to be part of the future.

You're looking at the episode through a "modern day lens", as the kids would say.

The episode is used to establish that the Time War has greatly impacted the Doctor. He is much more cynical and bitter, while Rose is depicted as utterly naive. The Doctor wants to rattle Rose's cage, so he takes her several billion years into the future to show how Earth will basically be nothing more than a glorified building demolition. He's lost Gallifrey, his home, and eventually Earth will also be gone.

But the purpose of this is also to show how Rose will gradually soften the Doctor as the series goes on. She is naive, and she does have some harsh lessons, but she also makes the Doctor realize that as tragic as his past it and that nothing will last forever, it can make what you do have now all the more precious.

oh my gawd why aren't those bitches honored that people posted memes about them sucking men's dicks after the cameraman stuck around extra long to film them licking up ice cream /s

Yeah obesity impacts female fertility on a biological level and messes up both the menstrual cycle and ability to carry a pregnancy. With obesity males only have to worry about their dick getting smaller and the society level of being a fatty makes fewer people want to mate with you.

I just do normal gaming and I've been pleased with Logitech G502. Mice seem to be the only reliable product Logitech still makes.

The ones you see begging on the corner are the ones that have the "best" places staked out and will totally scrap with others who try to encroach on their territory - don't be fooled by their "poor frail me" appearance.

What's wrong with them is that they'd rather waste their life away getting high/drunk and don't care how much it inconveniences the rest of us. "Carry me," is their motto.

I vaguely remember the Dragonlance creators getting nagged about how all the characters are based off of Europeans. The Dragonlance series really helped me learn how to read as a kid, they're full chapter books but are also easy to read.

Speaking of which has Trump stated who his running mate is? He's an old obese boomer and I don't know if I can trust him to last another 4 years.

I've had to work with homeless people before. About 50% are people who don't want to be homeless and just need some help. The other 50% are people who are homeless because they've shit on, abused, and taken advantage of their friends and family so often that they've had enough and quit helping. They're the people who aren't just addicted to drugs, but they would be total pieces of shit even sober. They don't view you as a human being, they view you as prey - you're just another means for them to scam something and they don't give a shit about human decency or morality.

Most people would have sympathy and tolerance for the homeless if such a large proportion 1. didn't piss/shit all over like animals and 2. didn't leave other trash and dirty needles everywhere. Such assholes can't even be bothered to use a McDonald's restroom (unless they're injecting drugs) or a public trash can. All these people deserve is to be put on the moon so they can't stink up streets/stores with their feces or harass people minding their own business.

And most people demanding that everyone else have sympathy and tolerance for the homeless have the privilege of not having homeless on their doorstep.

The only biological evidence I have seen is that some languages are inherently easier for the brain to process than others. But this only pops up when you look at things like dyslexia: some languages like Italian produce no significant amount of the population with it, while in other languages such as English or Russian this affects something like 5% of the population.

It's probably accepted because (in the US at least) you need to financially compensate a surrogate a LOT of money, and even then not many women are willing to go through the inconvenience and health risks. A brief search engine checks indicates only a couple thousand babies are born from surrogates each year. In comparison, that's less than 1/10th of the number of sperm donor babies born each year so in the field of genetic dead ends going against God and reproducing anyway, people using surrogate mothers are low on the incident list.

"Don't have kids if you can't afford them!"

"Okay."

(surprised Pikachu when people take responsibility and choose not to have kids if it'll send them into poverty)

Gee maybe killing off the middle class was a mistake?

But how do you parse an ethical dilemma when the line in the sand has been drawn on a fetal heartbeat?

5
Daucus9 5 points ago +6 / -1

The problem is that such as situation is not so cut and dry. For example, you can have a failed pregnancy but since there is still a fetal heartbeat a doctor's hands are tied to do anything. This forces the woman to wait until she's in a health emergency like developing sepsis or other life-threatening development, before the doctors can lift a finger. "Hey your wife has a ticking time bomb but we have to wait until it explodes rather than remove it before it can hurt her" is not an ideal situation.

Actors get plastic surgery a LOT more than people realize, but when a job is botched EVERYONE notices it.

She managed to look cute and natural and turned herself into every other plastic surgery face bitch on Instagram.

Brendan wore a fat suit.

Fat activists cried greasy tears over it because they consider fat suits to be the equivalent of blackface, and of course The Whale is all about how this dude's life is a wreck because he's eating himself to death.

I'd rather watch a 12 million dollar movie with okay CGI and a good story/characters, than a 200 million dollar dollar movie with slightly-better-but-still-painfully-obvious-green-screen CGI with insufferable story/characters.
