I did watch the video to the end. I don't doubt people self-censor themselves on youtube to avoid getting banned. The video could have implanted seeds very deep in some people's minds which will sprout in years to come. We can hope.
You talk as if sanctions were invented yesterday. "Judea declares war on Germany". All Jewish businesses were urged to boycott anything German. If all Mexicans in the USA decided to boycott all non-mexican stores and services wouldn't it show they are Mexican first and American patriots second? There can be no dual loyalty.
I just finished Volume 2. It should be required reading in all high schools, as I heard it is in Russia currently.
I laughed a few times. Both from the author's humour and from the absolutely absurd incidents Solzhenitsyn recounts about certain situations. It's a very interesting read. You'll learn a lot about how Soviet citizens lived, Soviet ideology, how gulags were like of course. The books will make you appreciate the horror of what happened. I knew it was bad before reading these books. You can't imagine how bad it was. Gotta read it.
