Who cares?!

He pulled out a chair for Netanyahu!

He ordered statues of black guys!

WE'RE FUCKED!

I hated it when Idris Elba was cast as Knuckles...and then he knocked it out of the park, so props to him.

But James Bond? No.

When I watched Jurassic Park again, I actually winced at seeing her name in the credits.

I'd completely forgotten she'd worked on that movie.

At first I thought it was about W.I.T.C.H., those books that became a cartoon that reportedly got shut down by its own ripoff, Winx Club.

The books were better than the show.

There is only one good Lilith, and sadly, Capcom doesn't do crap with Darkstalkers.

The one in Evangelion is more of a neutral figure. Doesn't count.

That's fair. Japan's courts are basically a confession mill, or at least they were when I first learned about them in the late 1990s. Who knows what they're like now.

A failure to convict is seen as a loss of face/honor on the police and prosecutors.

They don't have plea bargaining either.

Are you serious?

The finish line is in sight and you're blackpilling?

The state of this win, man. The state of it.

The Japanese legal system is no joke, it has an EXTREMELY HIGH conviction rate, so this was about as far as they could go.

They didn't even use juries until 2009.

For that reason, I'll go to my grave believing that the Ace Attorney games, which started in 2004, were meant to be a satire of the Japanese legal system.

My grandmother continued to get a check every month or so from some black-lung compensation group or settlement or whatever, because her husband was once a coal miner. She kept getting them after she had to move in with us because she couldn't take care of herself anymore.

Said husband died in 1997, and she died of a stroke in 2020. The checks stopped coming in then--I guess we did things right.

Is there such a thing as Social Security fraud?

Asking as someone on Social Security disability, and had to swallow his pride to apply for it.

I'm afraid I might one day get charged with this.

It doesn't help that the character Kathryn Janeway was explicitly named after feminist author Elizabeth Janeway.

Milo Yiannopolous is back?

I still haven't forgiven him for betraying us. He demanded the Second Amendment be repealed.

I bought his book before I realized he wasn't on our side.

Though they didn't, you CAN die from being shot in the leg.

NFL rising star Sean Taylor was shot in the thigh when his house was broken into. It ruptured the femoral artery.

I wouldn’t expect to see “Jesus, son of God,” as a playable character in Smite.

King David is playable in Fate/Grand Order.

Yes, the one that slew Goliath.

I was pleasantly surprised at the representation. He's not exactly one of the most powerful characters to use, but I was just happy he was there.

Hell, in Record of Ragnarok, Adam, Eve and "the Serpent" show up, and their scenes actually got a chuckle out of me--because I can take a joke.

I'll paste what I said elsewhere:

It's nice to see Japan stand up for its dignity, while not being a dick about it.

I much prefer this than, say, when a bunch of Hindus raised a fuss over Smite's highly-accurate depiction of Kali, claiming that depicting her so accurately was disrespectful.

Read that again.

So the devs had to make her LESS ACCURATE to shut the Hindus up.

Had a Shinto shrine gotten destroyed, but this was portrayed as a BAD THING and they showed honorable people working to rebuild and restore it, with a festival at its re-opening, Japan probably would have been fine with that.

The jingle just randomly popped back into my head a couple of days ago. I thought it could be a little relevant to this place, hence the title.

I even had a set of these. Lost most of them when moving, though.

And yes, they were real metal.

Go ahead, create your own website. Start getting popular with free information sharing with zero censorship.

Oh no! All of a sudden you can't process payments because financial institutions will no longer let you, so now you're going to have a hard time expanding your bandwidth and handling the web traffic by paying for servers.

What's that? You got enough money together where you can just buy your own servers and handle all that traffic?

Oh no! All of a sudden you can't get donations anymore because all the sites that process those things have banned you because hate speech or some bullshit.

What's that? You we're able to get the money together independently to keep your website on line and have your private servers run?

Oh no! You've been deplatformed! The ISPs closed your website down by taking away your domain name.

What's that? You created your own website on your own servers running on a network outside the US?

Oh no! Now the search engines are taking you off their search results, and if you don't know what the website is and directly to look for it, you can't connect to it!

What's that? You have a big enough following who privately donate to you directly so that you can keep your website going on a server outside the US, because everyone is censoring you?

Oh no! You've been named in a lawsuit by the ADL and SPLC, they want you to provide all the information about your donors, who goes to your website, and so forth. They promised they weren't going to use that info to dox people, even though they have no legal reason to want that information, but now you going to have to go to court to fight and keep your user information private.

What's that? You won the lawsuit and were able to keep all your information private?

Oh no! Now some DA with direct connections to the ADL and SPLC are charging you with conspiracy and saying that you are an accomplice to hate crimes, hate crimes that have not even been proven to have even taken place, and they are going to get a warrant to get access to your information servers website and everything else, but they totally promise that they aren't going to make that public, and now you have to go back to court again to fight this and to get an injunction to even give up that information before the cops can come steal it. Good luck with that! I'm totally certain that they aren't going to leak that information.

But yeah, other than everything that was mentioned above, you are totally free to start up your own website.
