Don't buy things to fund grifters who pretend to be on your side.

It's annoying how many times I've had to say it, but the enemy of my enemy is NOT my friend.

It's not complicated. It can be amusing to watch them fight. You can even agree on a specific topic. But never fool yourself that they're on your side, because they will turn on you in an instant.

Leftists often mistake blind consoomerism with happiness and cannot comprehend anything else.

I guess as a non-American, it probably wasn't pushed as hard here and the hype didn't carry it up as high, making that fall much less dramatic.

That's a fair point, the budget was ludicrous and the normal ties to FF were tangential at best.

AccountWasFree 2 points ago +2 / -0

I never thought it was that stupid though. Again, nothing special, but I thought it was fine. Maybe it was just a case of hype going too high and the film not being able to deliver.

I don't really get why people dunk on that movie so much. Sure, it's not some pinnacle of film, but it's still a decent movie.

The irony being that the NRA is itself a Fudd organisation that has done more to compromise on gun rights than ever defend them.

AccountWasFree 10 points ago +10 / -0

He's hoping by Fudd-posting that he will garner some positive traction with people who are pro-gun, not realising that there are far more educated gun owners than educated gun grabbers. His tactics only work on those that are uneducated, which is why it's so effective for gun grabbers.

Finally getting around to Nier Replicant. Watched a let's play years ago, but really enjoying this remake/remaster. Kinda wishing I played this first and then Automata, but it's fine for the most part.

On the side, I'm still playing more and more Noita. Such a fun game with so many weird and wonderful mechanics and interactions.

And more casually, I'm enjoying my replay of Hollow Knight on my Switch. I might even git gud and try some of the optional challenges for multiple endings.

That's a great slogan, and one I don't even disagree with, but we both know that will never happen. Macho talk of revolution doesn't lead to any sort of change. In fact, I've found it's more likely to placate the people who continually engage in such language, as a way to trying and convince themselves that shit isn't that bad, because they could revolt and fight back at any time. They won't, but they "could".

You know what is more likely to happen though. Actually taking steps towards real independence free from relying on the state as much as possible. People love to talk bit about revolution, but the chance are it won't be happening in the lifetime of anyone posting here. You're better off putting in the effort at your own self-betterment than fantasising about what won't come to be with you around (and that isn't to say you shouldn't be prepared for it just in case, just don't rely on it happening).

You accepted a slave state into the Union during the Civil War.

It's because the Civil War was not in fact about slavery despite the decades of historical revisionism that took place to vilify the situation. It was about secession and that's all it ever was about. The northern states knew they couldn't survive without the south, and that's all it was.

If you're that desperate to continue drinking, just start homebrewing. It's really not that hard. I don't even drink, but I've grown up with people who used to homebrew beer, and it's not hard.

Remember, doing it yourself where possible is almost always the best solution. Schooling is fucked? Homeschool. Eat the bugs? Hunt your own meat. Beer companies are pozzed? Make your own.

The more independent you get, the less power these corporations have over you. And frankly, it's even better if you can get more people/friends involved to try and arrange swapping goods between each other. Voluntary division of labour free from those that want to interfere.

"If you child doesn't trust [you] to come out to you maybe self reflect on why that is"

Well that's simple. Because like so many other cases, you mutilations tell these children that it needs to be kept a secret from their parents. You lot are literally the ones sowing distrust of parents. The children distrusting their parents isn't natural, it's a result from groomers manipulating children.

Are there shitty parents out there where this could be true? Absolutely. But time and again, it's because groomers are telling them it needs to be a secret.

"DiVeRsiTy iS oUr StREnGtH"

So why are you calling for diversity only in white nations that are already economically and culturally powerful, and not struggling nations instead? Why are you calling for America to diversify, but not Togo? Why should England abandon their roots and not India? Why should Germany roll over, and not Egypt?

Could it be that it's all a steaming load of shit, and you're not looking to strengthen anyone but are instead looking to validate your saviour complex?

Lack of higher purpose leads to bottomfeeders trying to gain power over others under the delusion that their purpose is to guide people because they don't know what's actually good for them.

The death of life purpose and the rise of statist mindsets are not a coincidence.

You won't change the system from within or via some mythical cultural shift. People have tried far longer than you have even thought about the problem, let alone possible solutions.

The best approach outside of revolution (which isn't something that will happen without radical destruction to everyday elements people truly take for absolute granted) is to break away from the system as much as possible and be as independent as you can be (homestead, learn skills, hunt, homeschool, etc, etc). It doesn't solve the problem, but at this stage it won't get solved until things get much, much worse. So take care of yourself and those close to you and that's the best you can do for now.

To be fair, they tried. It was the arguably that failure that has allowed so much tyranny to flourish ever since. But I agree with the other poster that the creation of the Federal Reserve is another key date that should have spurred revolution.

Yup. Specifically December 23rd.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

People don't like to hear it (because coming to terms with living with tyranny their whole lives is uncomfortable), but America should have revolted a long time ago. Closer to century ago than not.

I'm rather skeptical of the VPNs that claim they don't even log anything

Gotta do your research about where they operate out of and the laws about legal mandates forcing businesses to log their customers. Remember, companies generally don't want to do more work unless it will make them money or they absolutely have to.

That said, if you want to be as private as possible for a VPN, look into Mullvad. They accept plenty of options for payment, each with their benefits and drawbacks and don't require any information from you besides that. They can only really track you if they know who you actually are. not being able to connect the history to the person is a decent step in stopping that.

And besides, even if it is ultimately not worth it, I'd still do it just to make the job of the officers just a little bit harder. Fuck em, if you're trying to put me in jail for speech I'm more than happy to be petty as fuck over it.

My point is that they're not safe because industrialisation has already come for them. AI tech is just the latest step in industrialisation that has now come for cushy white collar jobs.

The underlying point was that virtually nobody gave a shit over the past 100 years outside small little blips that saved nothing. We were not only okay with it, we were eager to slash these jobs, but now it's an issue because it's effecting white collar workers that are overwhelmingly liberal.

Sorry, I'm not buying the outrage that this is only an issue now. It's been an issue for longer than anyone discussing it has been alive and virtually none of them gave a shit about it until it came for them.

Frankly, this shouldn't be "the line". The line should have either been drawn loooong ago back in the mid 1800s or not at all. And we're a long way away from the 1800s.

Tradesmen adapted. Maybe it's time white collar "workers" showed their skill and adapt too. Some already are, but most are bitching because their little skill barrier got taken down a few pegs.

4
AccountWasFree 4 points ago +4 / -0

Which is really why it irks me that this is an "issue". It's such a manufactured outrage and it's so fucking obvious. They're not even wrong to oppose AI and industrialisation, but it's still annoying to see people take any position for all the wrong reasons.
