Can our children understand why Rittenhouse, a teenager carrying an AR-15-style rifle, was allowed to walk away from the scene of his alleged crime, past police cars, and return to his home in Illinois, while Jacob Blake was Tasered, shot seven times in the back, left paralyzed and still, until Friday, was handcuffed to his hospital bed while fighting for his life? We do not have enough details to answer that question with certainty, indeed police have offered only some information, but we cannot turn away from our moral obligation to keep asking it.

If they haven't already been ideologically possessed and you give them all of the information, I think many of them could figure it out. It isn't hard. Rittenhouse approached police with his hands up and complied with their orders; Blake had a warrant out for his arrest for violent crimes, didn't comply with officers, actively tried to fight with officers and reached inside of his vehicle in which a knife was later found.

It's really not hard to see a huge difference between those two interactions.

But it's now deemed racist to point this out. The west is irrevocably ruined IMO.

The west is irrevocably ruined IMO.

It may seem like that, especially if you've been watching this slow-motion car crash for years, but I still have faith that we'll recover from this. Fortunately for us, the more they push their antics out into the open, the more normal people see their shit and reject it.

I still have faith that we'll recover from this.

But how? As Yuri Bezmenov said; "You are stuck with them."

These communists aren't going to change their minds.

Not sure how these people use such mental gymnastics. Blake was fighting with the cops. She just doesn’t want to see the difference

And rioters were only defending themselves from the gunman. I mean if you saw someone walking around the street with a gun, wouldn't YOU attack them too!? Its just common sense. I mean you have a family to protect, and he might shoot them, so your best bet is to attack him head on, just like Ahmaud Arbery (who dindu nuffin!) and wrestle the gun out of his hands!....no seriously I had a guy make an argument similar to that recently, and I don't even begin to know how to explain to him how unbelievably stupid that idea is.

I think most people avoid looking at this stuff. I think most people who look at it, and are given basic facts (i.e: one resisted arrest, the other didn't - plus there's a lot more reasons and details), come to the same conclusion.

We're just screaming at the people who inhale propaganda like a bag of Doritos at 2AM. That's one battle. The other battle is the empathy of people who are barely aware or have any information and just get their good nature taken advantage of. Those people have to stop voting for the same things that cause the problems they feel empathetic to.

What conversation? This narrative that all whites are bad people is a dangerous. The best conversation that parents of all colors can have is to look at all the facts of the case. I’ll say it again, 7 shots is excessive but it’s hard for me to feel sympathy when you wrestle with cops, ignore their instructions, and reach into your vehicle.

The shots are excessive meme is so tiring. There is no such thing as excessive shots in a life or death situation. Anyone who has ever had combat training know this, even Thomas Sowell said as much, and he was a pistol trainer in the Marines.

▲ 14 ▼
– Smith1980 14 points 5 years ago +14 / -0

Good points. I was in the military, but since I was in the Air Force we didn’t have the same type of combat training. It is wrong of me to second guess. It’s hard for me to feel sorry for the man who chose to ignore cops.

That actually makes sense. The air force label every bullet because they expect you to not be able to reload in any situation where you need a gun, and also to stay out of the way of anyone who can reload.

While the marines treat shooting practice like a tourist. Oh look in the distance, its something ot shoot, and to your right, something to shoot, and oh listen, is that something to shoot? Let's make a statue out of lead for the attackers commemoration.

7 shots is excessive

How can you call it excessive when Jacob Blake survived? When an armed rapist resists arrest, you shoot him until he stops resisting.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 15 ▼
– Smith1980 15 points 5 years ago +15 / -0

Good point. I have to rethink this. But Blake put himself in that situation. This is why I can’t feel bad for him.

– Ricky_CIA 19 points 5 years ago +19 / -0

7 shots is excessive

How so? The only time to shoot is when you want to inflict deadly force. 7 shots were fired and the rapist still lived, so how is that excessive?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 11 ▼
– Smith1980 11 points 5 years ago +11 / -0

Good point. And it’s easy to judge after the fact. Blake only has himself to blame for being paralyzed.

Something about joggers and crossing roads to accommodate their workout routine.

I’ll say it again, 7 shots is excessive

Is it?

by countering ideas like "criminals are bad because they break the law" and "police are good because they stop bad guys."

That womanx is spreading demoralization to the American public. You commit a crime, you broke the law, you pay the restitution to society for said crimes.

I'm still reeling from the reports coming out of Kenosha, Wisconsin, this week, and I can hardly stand to think about a 17-year-old holding an assault rifle, let alone allegedly firing on other human beings.

The boy was there cleaning graffiti off walls and he was brave enough to help a friend protect his business from being burned down in the riots.

How do we actively support White children and youth in becoming antiracist?

Translation, how do I train my children to implement a caste system based on race to spread hatred between the races to help the Democrats maintain power and balkanize the US into racial homelands.

We can also, of course, teach our children about the philosophies of non-violence that fueled the courageous movement.

He was there to prevent people from the Left from burning down buildings and destroying peoples livelihoods. Its too late for the Left because they are teaching anti-racist to mean burn down other peoples properties if you don't get your political ideology.

We can also teach them that there were rigorous debates among civil rights leaders about how effective non-violence could be; it was a powerful statement made by civil rights luminaries, but it wasn't the only way of thinking. To know the history of Black protest in America should be to know about the names and lives of Malcolm X, Stokely Carmichael and Angela Davis too, and to know that Rosa Parks -- while she never endorsed violence -- also refused to pass judgment on Black Americans who revolted in Detroit in 1967.

Bitch do you know jack shit about Malcom X, the cities are burning and 32 people are dead because that asshole subverted Martin Luther King's message of peaceful protest, Malcom X wanted to kill people to get his way.

White children need to be invited to notice which people around them are recognized as people who deserve protection -- and which ones are rarely framed in this way.

Translation, she's a white savior, everyone who is darker than her is inferior due to her "whiteness" and whites need to look after the helpless lower lifeforms.

Jacob Blake had a warrant for his arrest for sexual assault, resisted arrest and put him hands out of sight into his car which at that point broke the rules of engagement and the stupid stupid man was then shot to prevent him from gunning the offiders down.. The police in Kenosha during the riot didn't arrest the boy after he turned himself in because they were more concerned about the mob burning down the city than a boy defending himself.

Maybe in certain areas, houston didn't have riots after the barnes incident, not for a lack of trying on the media's part.

It is a bit worrying though, unless some of these shithead mayors start cracking down it is gonna get worse, and unless we see the dipshit in portland arrested and some serious charges theyre gonna feel emboldened.

It's just that you have people printing crap like this in the papers... it's straight up propaganda aimed at demonising anyone who stands up to this. They are going all in.

What solutions are there?!

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 8 ▼
– ghostfox1_ 8 points 5 years ago +8 / -0

Well, most of the solutions aren't good ones. But what will happen is more people defending their property and lives by shooting the rioters, the left cries about it, not understanding their hypocrisy.

I don't think anyone here is smart enough to really answer that, but i don't think anyone is aside from the obvious endpoint of this that the commies want and then we start it all over again on mars 100 years down the road.

You can't kill an idea, even if its a retarded one.

I'm not so pessimistic that i think that this is the fall of an empire but its really not good. But i guess thats the question, how do we make all of this shit go away, cancel culture, identity politics, communism in general. Do we need hard times/some kind of struggle just to stave this shit off again? And furthermore, what happens when we get another dem in office, or will trump winning again make them rethink shit? Highly doubtful.

Its like a long march towards oblivion.

I can only assume you saw how they reacted in 2016 when He won. This violence is practically a continuation of their reaction to 2016. If Trump wins again I'd fully expect them to at least continue, if not escalate.

I mean, election night 2016 was hilarious but now i'm worried.

Not necessarily for my state, i live in texas and for all the leftists moving down here they behave themselves for the most part, and if it hits my city (houston) well, i'm jammed between little mexico and rich conservative territory so IDGAF, but i'm worried for the people that can't escape the shitstorm.

The only way to put out the fire is to starve it of oxygen, and I'm not sure how best to immunize folks so that they stop caring about the leftists think. It happens one person at a time it seems, but there's some hope that it can be done at least.

I'll settle for killing the people who think it's a good idea and are currently committing violence based on that assumption.

Am I the only one more concerned why children are being kept up to date on violence and political matters? Maybe the nearby ones, but otherwise you would only tell them to indoctrinate them.

If someone is already telling them, it is implied that you now must have that conversation with them.

But the people who are forcing this conversation with children are the same people CNN goes to. So its solving a problem they themselves are creating.

Robin DiAngelo has an answer in chapter 11 of White Fragility. White parents need to teach their children to not shed tears for black people, especially not in public.

permalink save report block reply
▲ 7 ▼
– Smith1980 7 points 5 years ago +7 / -0

Why can’t someone shed tears if they feel like it? Robin DiAngelo is racist in a way. She seems to see blacks as inferior. I’ve run into this from white far leftists.

Robin DiAngelo calls herself a white supremacist and says being around minorities make her uncomfortable.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– Smith1980 4 points 5 years ago +4 / -0

Well white supremacist isn’t what it used to be. Seems like any white person who feels guilty will call themselves that. Or the people who say not being racist is racist. I’m black and have been called a white supremacist. I’ve unfortunately heard her in an interview. Couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

– TentElephant 8 points 5 years ago +8 / -0

She is explicitly racist in the original sense of the word. Here is her essay. You don't need to read the book because it's just padding the essay, and the essay could be cut down to a few paragraphs.
