I think the commies might have actually been able to win if they'd stuck with the slow burn. But the no impulse control, instant gratification, utopianist younger Marxists may have actually saved us. Hah.
I've wanted to kill mine as well since it's a few years old and in need of a refresh. Switching sites lets me start anew with a different username with no ties to that account/comment history. And KiA2 is the only sub I visited anyways, so it works out well for me.
I'm I the same boat as you. I want to nuke my Reddit account but I don't want to replace it with a site where only 1/4 of the discussion is taking place.
But it's like nobody can tell what AoV is doing right now with the reddit sub.
We're deliberating on it. In any case, we do want to make all our subscribers aware of what is going on so they can move here or request approval - but that requires temporary unprivating.
But if AoV can just keep it private indefinitely and not mass invite us to it, then this site might as well become the new norm.
A mass invite is impractical, since that defeats the purpose of being private to begin with, and it will probably get us into trouble for unrequested messages to users.
Some probably gave up, some probably moved on, some came here, some stayed there. There's no clear answer, but it is what it is.
Some are probably lurking, but a lot of people are still addicted to reddit and their internet points and don't have much interest in leaving there.
Communities that go against the social justice agenda are torn down and the people are scattered on purpose to avoid exactly what you seek -- a large collective discussion. The way they've chosen to fight facts and truth that don't align with their ideology is to make it so nobody can hear it.
170 ish right now which is early afternoon UK time [2pm], mid morning East coast [9am], and early morning West coast [6am]. So might have an uptick throughout the day but it's still a lot less active than it used to be.
On a tangential note, anyone considering archiving KiA2?
Submitted a request for access a few days ago still waiting on that. KIA2 was pretty much my main use for Reddit other then a few handy hardware related subs.
PM'd both Tony and Dom here yet heard nothing. Have quite a few posts there I'd like to be able to save stuff from yet nothing is being said about getting access.
Please do not PM us, or post here, that makes it much more difficult. Use the modmail instead. In your case, I'm just going to save you the extra effort.
I cleared the backlog yesterday, or so I thought. Please send another message - because this username is not active there - if we still haven't approved you.
I’ve taken the chance to move over here. I deleted my main reddit account a while back since it was banned from a bunch of subs and over here we don’t have to self censor certain words, you can actually called retarded people retarded (the number of times Dom removed my comments for exactly this) so it’s a win-win really.
Only reason why I still check Reddit is because I want to see it going down with my own eyes. That, and I would really like more Vivian content in the banner of the site here and the side bar.
Not sure where you got that idea. Actually, I cleared the backlog of the modmail yesterday. Everyone who sent KiA2 a modmail should have received a reply - but I may have missed a few. In that case, just send another message.
The problem was that we'd get 40 requests, I'd go through the first 20, but then next time those are at the bottom. So a lot of people were delayed a lot longer than they should have been, and I apologized for that to them.
Not true, I'm approving anyone who has even one comment demonstrating that he is not a SJW. Of the hundreds of people who applied, perhaps 20 were rejected.
Now I'm curious. Were they blatantly SJW, or were their comments too neutral to be able to determine their views?
Either they did not have any comments at all, or none of their comments (that I could find, or they could cite) touched on the issues central to our work: PC and censorship.
I don't think many people moved, its more active here than before the sub went private, but not by much, and its still pretty active in the sub even though its private.
I'm here because I'm not getting into the private sub. Would've messaged the jannies on reddit to avoid directly linking the 2 accounts, but I've been suspended for 3 days by the super jannies for ban evasion, supposedly.
Browsing .win is not as nice as plebbit just yet unfortunately
Being the lurker I was, I sent a pm to the mods to be whitelisted a few days ago but Im still barred from kia2. It was my main use of reddit except for somes 3d printing sub.
That is the curse of being a lurker. I left half kia after the vote incident and left watchredditdie after the admin planted sjw mods. Kia2 was my go to but yes, being full lurker mode might rise suspicions.
I won't give my Reddit username to anybody, so I therefore can't "prove" I was there before, without making a Smurf here, so yea, in just going to upvote everything here.
Eh, I haven't bothered to ask for permission to the Reddit sub. I mostly just lurk now anyway and the only thing I use Reddit for at this point is HFY and LitRPG stuff.
Here now. Ever since smuggies got banned (latest on a long line going all the way back to MDE), the only places on reddit I bothered posting in were the politicalcompassmemes and vermintide subs and both aren't really worth frequenting the site over.
I never bothered to ask for access to the private sub. I was probably generating more work than I was worth for tony et al considering they had to keep giving me handslaps for forms sake
I'm using both, plebbit on my phone and .win when I'm at the PC. I lurk more than actually talk, though. Just waiting to see which way the wind blows for the most part.
I'm glad as hell we got a .win set up but man do I wish we'd gotten here before halfKiA took our name. Ah well.
Half has been dying a slow death for a long time. Just isn't much to the place other than rules (so that only B-Volley gets 75% of the posts) and then the same handful of comments echoed every single time by the same people.
I've taken the opportunity to just shift over here and try to build this place up. I've noticed an uptick in activity here since the privating.
Hopefully some blogger at the NYT gives in and writes a hit piece on Win.
You know you want to write it, commie lurkers. We say nigger here. That has to be worth 400 words.

Not us but...
Our biggest advantage is the commies' complete lack of impulse control.
I think the commies might have actually been able to win if they'd stuck with the slow burn. But the no impulse control, instant gratification, utopianist younger Marxists may have actually saved us. Hah.
Impulse control is patriarchal oppression, shitlord!
I don't want to go back to tiptoeing around everything just because mods are cowards.
I've wanted to kill mine as well since it's a few years old and in need of a refresh. Switching sites lets me start anew with a different username with no ties to that account/comment history. And KiA2 is the only sub I visited anyways, so it works out well for me.

A mass invite is impractical, since that defeats the purpose of being private to begin with, and it will probably get us into trouble for unrequested messages to users.
I killed mine a few months ago, and thus had no evidence to get an invite. I can't even lurk KIA2 like I usually do.
So it goes.
Some probably gave up, some probably moved on, some came here, some stayed there. There's no clear answer, but it is what it is.
Some are probably lurking, but a lot of people are still addicted to reddit and their internet points and don't have much interest in leaving there.

I'd say there's a bit more activity over there but it looks like it may be banned in the very near future.
I wish everyone who's currently in the leddit sub would just migrate here. There's definitely still more activity in the old sub.
170 ish right now which is early afternoon UK time [2pm], mid morning East coast [9am], and early morning West coast [6am]. So might have an uptick throughout the day but it's still a lot less active than it used to be.

Likewise.
PM'd both Tony and Dom here yet heard nothing. Have quite a few posts there I'd like to be able to save stuff from yet nothing is being said about getting access.

Since I recognize your username, I'll just dispense with the vetting.
I cleared the backlog yesterday, or so I thought. Please send another message - because this username is not active there - if we still haven't approved you.
Thank you, good sir!
I’ve taken the chance to move over here. I took the privating as a hint and just came over here.
Only reason why I still check Reddit is because I want to see it going down with my own eyes. That, and I would really like more Vivian content in the banner of the site here and the side bar.
I'm keeping an eye on it but who knows for how long
You have to get approved user status to be allowed in, and it seems like Antonio hasn't been checking to give it to more people after the first day.
Its probably better to be here where the cooler kids and less filters are.
Not sure where you got that idea. Actually, I cleared the backlog of the modmail yesterday. Everyone who sent KiA2 a modmail should have received a reply - but I may have missed a few. In that case, just send another message.
I only got it because a large number of people in this thread said they hadn't received theirs after days.
The problem was that we'd get 40 requests, I'd go through the first 20, but then next time those are at the bottom. So a lot of people were delayed a lot longer than they should have been, and I apologized for that to them.
It ain't no thing man. I know you are busy trying to deal with all this.
As of right now, it's about 618 who have been invited in the past few days.
No I'm to lazy to send the dude a message to let me back in
Doesn't matter. Doesn't look like more than a few well established folks got invited back in.
Not true, I'm approving anyone who has even one comment demonstrating that he is not a SJW. Of the hundreds of people who applied, perhaps 20 were rejected.
Thank you. Guessing there was a large backlog to work through then.
Now I'm curious. Were they blatantly SJW, or were their comments too neutral to be able to determine their views?
Not that I really care, just find the attempts at infiltration weird. Never underestimate discord trannies, I suppose.
Either they did not have any comments at all, or none of their comments (that I could find, or they could cite) touched on the issues central to our work: PC and censorship.
That seems like such a low bar, too. Thanks for all your effort, man.
Main issue with this site is the lack of a real mobile app imo.
Don't you guys have browsers?
I'm posting here exclusively, since this is where I think the future is.
I don't think many people moved, its more active here than before the sub went private, but not by much, and its still pretty active in the sub even though its private.
No, we are approving users with a good history, or who can demonstrate that they are not SJWs.
I'm still browsing both just for interests sake.
I'm here because I'm not getting into the private sub. Would've messaged the jannies on reddit to avoid directly linking the 2 accounts, but I've been suspended for 3 days by the super jannies for ban evasion, supposedly.

Same username? Your history is very limited and doesn't really allow for a vetting.
That is the curse of being a lurker. I left half kia after the vote incident and left watchredditdie after the admin planted sjw mods. Kia2 was my go to but yes, being full lurker mode might rise suspicions.

I'm using both.
Over there its pretty dead, and only slightly more active than here. You aren't missing much.
Yet, it's still more active than half, judging by it's positioning in my top bar.
Half has been dying a slow death for a long time. Just isn't much to the place other than rules (so that only B-Volley gets 75% of the posts) and then the same handful of comments echoed every single time by the same people.
