I love the GoW games but they were already losing me with the two Dad of War games. The first one was alright but Ragnarok was a huge dud, so even if this new game did have Kratos, I wouldn't be interested.

Freya was the required DEI representation of women. She played it well. A bitchy, sulky, conniving cunt of a woman who harangues and henpecks you the whole game. Clearly this character was made by a woman, because they clearly understood women on a deep level.
Yep, that definitely would have worked. Also being able to play different characters through flashbacks that you unlock throughout the game as you uncover the history would have been a neat feature.
But like with every other male-led franchise, this latest game is a demoralisation campaign to have a woman usurp a man's role, and to make it lame and gay.

I would accept this game, if it were so. And maybe it will be. But I highly fucking doubt it. As a dork who played thru Dad of War 1&2, the setup to get rid of Kratos was there from the start. But we figured it would be Loki who would carry the mantle, as that was also clearly set up.
Randomly subverting expectations to make the dead wife the lead is strange. The concept isn't bad, but the execution I'm being shown isn't great. Laufey isn't a god. Why is she in the god-afterlife? Why didn't Kratos go to this god afterlife?
