So I saw recently where Todd Howard said that he was tired of people asking him about Elder Scrolls 6 and it reminded me of GRRM’s post complaining that people don’t care about his other stuff, just Winds of Winter. So the question is.. if you were to place a bet on one of the prediction apps regarding which one is released first between Winds of Winter or ES6 what would you put your money on? I say ES6 because i honestly feel that we won’t get Winds until George dies and the publisher finds someone to write the last two

You think we will at least get the end with some author the publishers hire? I would have to believe his publishers are pissed. Had he finished the books during the show that would’ve been a ton of money
It's a common failing of amateur authors, but dude only knows how to write introductions. He did a good job of hiding this fact by killing off characters or torturing them into new identities so he could just write more introductions, but when you start to analyze his works, you see that he carefully removes characters the moment real character development would be necessary: Only one-notes and deadpan snarkers tend to last longer, because they need no developing.
He never would be able to write an ending on his own that is in any way approaching satisfactory.
I hadn't thought about that angle. There are definitely publishing executives out there who are dying for GRRM to pass so that they can hire someone else to finish the books lol
Publishers did it to Robert Jordan and Kento Miura, of course Martin is going to get the same treatment.
To be fair, at least with Kentaro Miura it's being picked up by his understudies and his best friend to whom he basically told his plans for how he was going to finish the story. I still think it's a mistake, but at least they're trying to do right by him.
I know I would buy it
When he dies I bet they have someone finish the rest of the series up who actually knows how to write characters.
And honestly who needs to read that kosher degenerate demoralizing slop anyways.
considering the shareholders of kikerosoft own the elder scrolls franchise
ES6 is coming weather todd is ready or not, game's gonna launch buggy, shitty and full of niggers because this time we're going to Hammerfell
though the real question is if they're gonna try to jew us with paid mods like they did previously, i hope not because Mods literally fix their broken messy games and breathe new life into them
Yea I’m still playing modded Skyrim.
with wabbajack mod installer you can install 3800 mods all within two clicks and shit pretty much works seamlessly (Skyrim Invicta)
plus there is a ton of new lands quest mods like Beyond Reach and Beyond Skyrim--Bruma
practically giving us a brand new DLC sized (talking like dragonborn DLC) experience for the low low price of FREE
AAA corporations cannot compete with neither the pricing or passion that fan-devs have, its why modding can make a game franchise live eternally even after 15 years the flame is still burning strong...
I have Bruma. Will look up Beyond Reach and I’m waiting for Skyblivion
its a turbo based mod with lots of racism
the voice acting is a bit... mediocore due to poor recording equipment if you feel like the voice acting aren't up to snuff you can go the a.i voice-acting route instead
to give you a spoiler free overview you're essentially going to High Rock (land of the Bretons) to help them with their forsworn problem along the way you TND other vile creatures with the other half of the story involing Daedra
i won't spoil it any further but that disclaimer at the start of the quest if you want to censor all the offensive stuff or keep intact--Keep it intact it makes the story really hit close to home
Cool. I always wanted more to do with the Foresworn
Just the lore alone surrounding Valenwood, Elseweyr and Black Marsh is so much cooler than Hammerfell. Especially since Redguard already treaded along that area well enough, I think.
But I mean, if they're gonna crap that one out during their DEI phase, let it die in the spotlight.
If it means no more elder scrolls, then that's fine. Considering the quality drop, it's probably for the best.
Todd Howard said when they got the fallout license that 10 years was too long to wait for a sequel.
Fallout 4 came out in 2015.
Skyrim came out in 2011.
It just waits.
It annoys me that they released that ES6 teaser back in 18. Kinda pointless
Entirely because they knew MS was thinking of purchasing, so they drum up attention for more money.
Calling it a teaser is being generous because it implies it shows hints of what next game would look like, which it did not. What we had was a panning shot over some displacement map texture pretending to be a grand open world. For all we know, this might've been cobbled together quickly in sketchup by last competent intern in the company.
True
Aka, Todd Howard is a massive faggot.
Relevant webcomic post.
What fans think final fantasy was 20 years ago=FFV sprites What final fantasy actually was 20 years ago=FFX on PS2
Yep. An entire generation has grown up seeing Final Fantasy as an ultra-linear, on-rails series of narrative games, not realizing the norm USED to involve traveling to dungeons and towns on a world map and eventually acquiring an airship to zip around it with impunity.
You can hate me all you want but FFX was one of the best ones. No overly silly stuffed animals and a bland hero so bland he pretended to be a different bland character named Zack, no group thats oddly dedicated to getting the main character to bang some thot with a shit leveling system, no stupid ass clown or octopus.
Hey look, downvotes are back.
No, he simply self-removed the upvote every post gets when made. With how things currently are the lowest a post can score is 0, as in no upvotes, but it can never drop below that as downvotes aren't a thing atm.
FFX had a fairly good story, an interesting setting, and the sphere grid was great, but other than that the game was walking down an elaborate hallway and getting into fights, none of which were particularly challenging. It was fun to play through once, but I've never really cared enough to complete it again. Never got into XII enough to complete it and never even bothered with the later games. SNES was peak as far as I'm concerned.
I still love the game. All the mods give it new life
Be careful what you wish for. I used to complain about the rate of Star Wars releases.
Then Disney bought the franchise and I fell asleep during the last film and didn’t even bother to watch it.
True. I love the EU books and comics and still reading them. As an early teen before the prequels were announced I remember thinking that if the future of Star Wars was books and video games I’d be fine with that
Es6 without a doubt. GRRM got what he wanted out of a lifetime of writing and doesnt feel obligated to do anything, ignoring the clear moral/honor obligation between himself and a public which made him wealthy in return for a story. I expect asoiaf to be wrapped up posthumously by his estate usung his notes and drafts
I don’t think anyone is taking the winds of winter here.
Fans of Berserk and Highschool Of The Dead: You have no idea how bad things are.
Recently got the first omnibus of Beserk. Are those mangas where the author is dragging their feet?
Kentaro Miura dragged his feet for years. There was a meme that Idolm@ster was distracting him from his work and the rare new chapter release was just to fund his addiction for Idolm@ster.
He died before completing Berserk.
Daisuke Satō had started dragging his feet and the artist he worked with started working on another series while waiting for him to write again.
He died before continuing Highschool of The Dead.
To be fair: I can sort of forgive Miura for weebing out as hard as he did considering he spent most of his life creating one of if not the most edgelord verse in fiction. Kinda makes sense he would gravitate towards cutesy aesthethics as a tired old man after he spent his youth drawing rape cannibal demons.
I used to be sour that series like HSD:Kenichi, Katekyo Hitman Reborn or Cage of Eden would get axed suddenly. In hindsight, that was a blessing in disguise.
Did someone complete it after they died?
One of Miura's friends has all his notes and is continuing Berserk for him. Unfortunately, he wasn't sure how he wanted to end it, so it remains to be seen if he'll finish it well. Still worth reading. No idea about that other series.
Thank you
Triage X even has a zombie apocalypse in it. It's still ongoing though with no end in sight and i also dislike the localization.
I say Half Life 3 will happen first.
Do they even give updates with that anymore?
From what I've been told and have read, there are many half life 3s that didn't make it. Hard to update when it's constantly being killed.
