So I saw recently where Todd Howard said that he was tired of people asking him about Elder Scrolls 6 and it reminded me of GRRM’s post complaining that people don’t care about his other stuff, just Winds of Winter. So the question is.. if you were to place a bet on one of the prediction apps regarding which one is released first between Winds of Winter or ES6 what would you put your money on? I say ES6 because i honestly feel that we won’t get Winds until George dies and the publisher finds someone to write the last two

You think we will at least get the end with some author the publishers hire? I would have to believe his publishers are pissed. Had he finished the books during the show that would’ve been a ton of money
It's a common failing of amateur authors, but dude only knows how to write introductions. He did a good job of hiding this fact by killing off characters or torturing them into new identities so he could just write more introductions, but when you start to analyze his works, you see that he carefully removes characters the moment real character development would be necessary: Only one-notes and deadpan snarkers tend to last longer, because they need no developing.
He never would be able to write an ending on his own that is in any way approaching satisfactory.
I hadn't thought about that angle. There are definitely publishing executives out there who are dying for GRRM to pass so that they can hire someone else to finish the books lol
Publishers did it to Robert Jordan and Kento Miura, of course Martin is going to get the same treatment.
To be fair, at least with Kentaro Miura it's being picked up by his understudies and his best friend to whom he basically told his plans for how he was going to finish the story. I still think it's a mistake, but at least they're trying to do right by him.
I know I would buy it
When he dies I bet they have someone finish the rest of the series up who actually knows how to write characters.
