Took a look at the lease terms. These leases aren't rent-to-own; you either continue renting it month-to-month or return it. At the end of the 36 months, you've paid the price of a new PS5 with nothing to show for it.
Buy a decently new 1L/Tiny/Mini/Micro PC, install Batocera, enjoy everything up to the PS2/OG XBox era. A i5-12500 and iGPU can run all of that, though later XBox games might choke it a bit.
Dosbox, Scummvm, even buying direct from gog. Very accessible. Some of the older games can be challenging to play today. Some are just as good as ever.
That shit penetrated all the way to my martial arts instructor who is very much not a political guy. How the fuck do you crash out about the fucking stock market when being grilled about why you aren't prosecuting child rapists?
That's not even the most dystopian thing I've seen in regards to leasing.
You can now lease LEGO SETS.
As in you borrow the set, build it, and send it back to be disassembled for some other poorfag. Don't know how they unstick the stickers or if they even bother with that.
My first major purchase of a PS2 was done via layaway. I've also bought consoles from catalog shopping, like Fingerhut. Point being I bought things with payments, I wouldn't lease one
Given the quality of these consoles, I would hope the lease contract specifies that if the console inevitably craps out, the leasing company will eat the cost.
You will own nothing and your emotional state will not matter.

Blacks, the target audience of this program, do not consider their future selves to be the same person as them.
So it's renting, but you have to commit?
Yes.
They got the idea from NZXT lol...

That'S logic - the one weakness of blacks and other low-IQ subspecies
No wonder retro gaming is a thing

Thanks!
Even better, turns out that Batocera has Kodi built in, so you can have one box be your retro game machine and your media PC.
Cool!
I need to do that. Wanna go through old Sierra games
You ever play Battle Bugs? Pretty sure that was Sierra...
Memory unlocked. Never played but vaguely remember

I thought this was going to be about another Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price increase.

They say playstation is popular with third worlders.. seems fitting for the UK lololol.
How will they stop people from stealing them?
they know console players are retards though, they accepted the idea of a "battle pass", and "Xbox live", the paying for online service.
its not really a step further for console players to pay monthly to use their own system, or lease it outright.
