Stop thinking in terms of morals and ideals. Those protesters hate you and would laugh at your death. If ICE lined them up against the wall for a bullet rain it would be a good thing. They shouldn’t be defended at all in any way shape or form. They aren’t you, they aren’t your family, they aren’t your friends. The thing to keep in mind about Waco is that the government used allegations of child molestation to justify burning those same children to death along with their families. Basically where I'm at, I hate all supporters of immigration and want them executed, but that doesn't mean I'll defend stupid and sloppy shootings just because the victim was someone who deserved it. The execution(no pun intended) is worthy of critique because the shooting had nothing to do with who he was, only how he acted in the moment. I want executions, not failed arrests that are inches away from being a friendly fire incident.

Having a gun in a confrontation with an officer is dangerous. It was not justified to get shot but it was still dangerous and stupid.
