Legally carrying or not it's not a good idea to have a firearm if you're going to try to interfere with law enforcement. CCW instructors repeatedly tell you not to do stupid shit on top of following the law (the faggot wasn't following the law either, but that's a side point).

If the issue is Alex Pretti's actions, focus on those actions. Not that he possessed a gun.
However badly Pretti behaved, the discourse coming from a massive chunk of "conservatives" is incredibly retarded and disappointing. They're living up to the 'bootlicker' attack.

Yeah, ultimately Pretti would still be alive if he didn't have a gun. There's nuance to that, but it's true.

The admin as a whole has been horrible on this. And even if it was a quick answer/question, it's a topical question that Trump should still have had a better answer for. I really don't care how long he had to answer, when you combine it with all those elements.
Anyone can be carrying a gun or even be wearing a bomb vest, seeing a gun shouldn't change police response.
