Between cities, especially the Shinkansen, is pretty expensive. I assume people who have to go from one city to the other have some sort of subscription. The Shinkansen seemed to be mostly work travel - you're only allowed to use the slowest of the three trains (which stops at all the stops) with the Rail Pass.
And of course all the (((sources))) say the crime is high in Warabi but "nobody can be sure why" - then immediately pivot to sob stories about those horrible racist Japanese and their hate groups discriminating against the poor Kurdish "refugees" for absolutely no reason at all.

Kurds are (mostly) Sunnis. Kurd is an ethnicity, Sunni is a sect.
