I think both of them are an issue. Islam does not allow women to allow non-Muslim men (other way is OK as long as they brianwash their kids into the cult). Now, even if only a minority of Iranians have a problem with a (nominally) Muslim woman marrying a Jewish man (a big if), a royal family is supposed to be unifying the country. You can't have them do things that a large portion of the population abhors. It's just more proof that these Iranian Chalabis aren't even serious, because otherwise they'd clean up their act.
