I finally managed to land a real job with real benefits, and this is my first foray into corporate America. In grad school the nonsense was largely limited to emails I could have a chuckle about and move on with my day. Is the corporate world any worse than this or are the virtue signaling retards just as easy to ignore?

In IT every corporation, big or small is still heavy on DIE crap. The last time I had to change jobs was because it was affecting my mental health, I was part of those who would test new hires. White males could and did get offers but any woman, no matter how incompetent got a job offer, they could literally know nothing about the required skills and could get hired. At one point someone in management thought we need it more Arabs, because diversity, but we couldn't find them locally so they had to bring some over from Canada and Egypt, it turned out to be a mess all around and one guy was on the global terror watch list and he was not allowed to be involved with clients from several countries.
The job before that one, we had annual training that involved:
They also had a habit of firing the older 40-50 year old white guys when ever they wanted to do job cuts.
Now I'm not working at an IT company but at the IT department of a company. It is better but still had people praising diversity and efforts to increase diversity was part of the last corpo status meeting. No training and no calls for diversity in IT specifically, not that would matter as we're 80% Indians anyway - I hate working with Indians (dots not feathers). No DIE program compares with the ingroup bias of Indians and their complete lack of morals.
Can confirm, have a job where the a new department got made a few years prior and a women got placed as the department lead, few weeks ago they came into the main support room for their department asking 'hey what is this thing?' when the thing was the primary software piece that department was actively working on and having meetings on that they were in every fucking week.
2-3 years as a head with at least bi-weekly meetings and they know fuck-all about the software they're supposedly responsible for.
Last I recall, that department has 1 or 2 white dudes, 5-6 women, most in 'lead' rolls of course with maybe 2 of them actually knowing wtf is going on there, then a bunch of indians/asians for the rest of the department.
It seems the same everywhere. I actually have a funny story from a friend. She got hired at a startup that was to good to be true, high on diversity but gave trips to France as rewards, high salaries and ton of vacations etc.
My friend got in a small team with a dude and another woman, the other woman had almost no skills but tons of experience, her experience was getting the guys to do her job because she was hot. Funny part was that because of the DIE requirements the guy was gay so she was struggling like crazy to do basic stuff. My friend enjoyed her suffering very much. Of course the startup crashed and burned in a few years.
The large bank I’m leaving is basically majority Indian here and in India. Diversity doesn’t matter there - no women are promoted and only the top castes are hired. If the bank kept pushing DEI I’d be asking about that in public forums.
A different branch of my department got an Indian lead, in 1 year the team was almost only Indians with just 1 white guy left that I brought over to my team. That 1 white guy was treated like crap in order to force him to leave but no one cares that Indians do this and worse.
For a lefty, a department that is 100% Indian it's 100% diverse.
Lately they've just stopped talking about it. No flyers, no email announcements, HR has been about eighty percent laid off, etc.
I'm sure it varies by location and industry though.
I assume Microsoft and Google are still full on Alphabet pandering and celebrating the removal of white men. Those with infinite money can afford the luxury of DIE
More like they're extremely committed to becoming outright Indian companies, but same difference.
I weep for the coming technological dark age.
That is what I'm thinkin, same with Amazon. The entire AWS is just indians, at one point can you consider it just an Indian company? Just move the HQ and change nothing else.
That's the trick I learned way too late. You want less DEI bloat, work for a smaller company. When I joined my current one it was 90% white men and women (mostly people that knew what they were doing). As we grew in success, the DEI tax must be paid and we've been pumping ourselves full of minorities left and right. I've shifted my priorities from what's best for the company to what's best for my career and spend more work hours studying for certs in preparation for a job hop.
The easier it is to melt into the background, the easier it is to avoid it.
My industry didn’t really have anything because it is a gloryless industry, not something fancy or exciting. The more prestigious the company, the likelier it is you’ll run into this crap.
Hmm. My employer is the second biggest player in its industry (I'm being deliberately vague for opsec reasons) but it's a somewhat boring field and I'm working a pretty boring job. All the cool kids are fighting over the dwindling number of tech jobs. It probably helps that my boss will be a laid back white guy in his 50s. I'll also be working remotely which should shield me from anything too awful.
Yeah the glamorous industries/companies seem to attract the anti-White fish quite a bit. Those tech jobs especially.
Save your dollars up, if you are remote then that job can easily be outsourced. I have a remote role but will be traveling some of the time.
I'm not as concerned as I would be otherwise. My role has to be onshore for regulatory reasons, and they use remote work and work/life balance as ways to attract people. I was hooked up with this job after they hired a jeet for a more limited role on the other team.
My company is more woke than others so I’ll say this: on a day to day interaction it’s work talk and normal social interaction. Where DIeversity really comes into play is hiring, firing, & promotions.
As a White male, I’m very knowledgeable, charismatic & management loves me. However, I’m about 2 rungs below where I should be promotion wise. Why?
Company only hires blacks, browns, and White women since 2020. And when they’re hired, they have inflated titles already so promotions are “hard to come by” for anyone else.
Under-performer minorities are never fired. No matter how bad they are at their job.
Not bad, won't go into details obviously but work with quite a lot of women at my company.
Majority are tomboys or like me in a way that they'll subtly follow my lead when I propose a line of action. Never had to do pronoun bullshit, sensitivity training etc though that might be helped that we have a very small HR pretty much one person so no time to nanny.
Had to do some training for a different sector recently. In the training materials:
I live in the midwest. Its bad.
I have worked for one of the very large banks for 7 years, but am going to put my notice in soon since I’m moving elsewhere.
The bank was all in on DEI bullshit after the junkie died and pushed very hard. Many nigs were promoted that didn’t deserve it. Nigger shit was pushed nonstop for equity and inclusion, but they rarely focused on Hispanics or Asians - the latter only when they were getting attacked by niggers. The past year has almost stopped completely- I still get crap about Hindu holidays while ignoring our own. Trans bullshit has also been nonexistent. Their diversity is mainly women. Seeing how most of IT has been farmed out to India, the women will start seeing the results.
The funny thing is I have privileged access to a Tableau dashboard that lists DEI stats, and there has been a 2% drop in blacks in my company the past year. I’m sure they fired most of them since they were hired only for their skin color.
I am leaving for a company that has been marked low on Glassdoor for diversity ratings, so I think I’ll like the new company just fine.
In my experience DIE wasn't as bad as the pro woman bullshit. I have no problems with women if they can do the job but that's only been a very rare minority. Then they promote them to management and it's a huge shitshow. I've had female bosses that had no idea how to do the job and lose thousands for the company.
There have also been a number of cases with different employers where women talked about shit that would be a huge concern if they were men- openly talking about how much they hate men, how men suck, long discussions about vibrators and sex toys- really inappropriate shit and we're supposed to act like nothing's wrong.
Also the number of women in the workforce have turned it into more of a nursery school where they have little playbreaks and bullshit. Childish shit.
I work in... well, for OpSec I'll say security, though it's an adjacent field. But we are required to write up profiles of basically everyone that crosses our paperwork pile.
We get emails and mandatory training about "never assume xirs gender! This is super duper important!" probably once a month. It's honestly excessive. At the same time, our boss says "if you dare put 'unknown' on every "gender" checkbox for the 400 profiles per day that pass your desk because 'you didn't personally ask them what they identified as', even for one day as a prank, you're getting written up."
The profiles and reporting are for legal purposes. The company would skip it if they could: pure cost savings to not do it, if not legally required to report it. Thus, enforcement/getting written up would purely be because of legal ramifications, not internal desires. The DEI materials come from the government too. So in other words, the government is pushing the DEI on us, but the government is going to punish us if we follow it.
Every hospital in Canada is running DIE and people can't find jobs because the management is so bad.
I wanted to make an addition to my doomer comment. 99% of time it does not factor in to anything, it's some eye rolling when a minority gets praised for doing some basic stuff because white managers treat them like kids but that is the extent of day to day.
If you manage to ignore and not focus on the discrimination and pandering it is mostly ok. You can still enjoy the superficial culture of fake-happy that corpos create. Even when they're promoting diversity it is always as some happy event that somehow makes it better for you. You feel very pampered most of the time. they're hardly hostile towards you (except if you're manager is a woman and you're not hot af). Just don't let your guard down, corpo politics is a game of thrones - feminists, Indians, other minorities all smile but each fighting for themselves and now that white guys aren't that many they do turn on each other and that makes things easier for us.
Post-Trump election I haven't heard shit.
Pre-Trump disgustingly cucked. Couldn't even look my director in the eye anymore after he went on a cucked diatribe galvanizing black people. I fucking hate the soulless corporate NPCs I work with with a burning passion.
Where I work, it’s mostly background noise that can be tuned out. There’s lots of lip service to woke shit, and we have a DEI team that’s effectively stealing money from the company, along with maybe another 10% of the company that’s in ostensibly useful functions who actually don’t do shit other than post about their front holes or whatever on social media…but there’s nothing mandatory if you don’t want to participate in it, and so far no one has tried to push me toward hiring any specific demographic…so mostly DEI is just kind of an annoying money pit but at least doesn’t fuck with my day to day work
