Erm, excuse me, but you're supposed to forcibly split up the family in this scenario.

As a U.S. citizen, V.M.L. is likely to have the ability to return to the United States, setting her case apart from others that have drawn national attention in recent weeks, such as the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Wait, wait, wait. Can you say that again, Politico?

The Salvadoran native was deported to a prison in his home country...

Wait, I thought he was a Marylander? Wait, er, Venezuelan? And, what, he was in a gang after all? I thought he was just a loving father?

I can't keep up...it's almost like you were lying about everything again, legacy media!

Trump administration officials said in court that the mother told ICE officials that she wished to take V.M.L. with her to Honduras. The filing included a handwritten note in Spanish they claimed was written by the mother and confirmed her intent. But the judge said he had hoped to verify that information.

“The Government contends that this is all okay because the mother wishes that the child be deported with her,” Doughty wrote. “But the Court doesn’t know that.”

If the court doesn't know something, then all actions by all parties are forever suspended until the court's is given enough knowledge to become omnipotent.

The mother took her kid with her when she got deported, ok?

I usually argue for more rights for the father in custody battles but this is custody mixed in with illegal immigration and judges showing obvious leftist bias to keep EVERY illegal in America. So if this is the consequence for getting them out, so be it.

It sounds like the father is also an illegal. Even if she were to stay with him, the only difference should be that maybe she gets deported to a different country, or maybe even a different part of the same country, assuming the father wouldn’t get deported to join the rest of his family. Under any sane reading of the 14th Amendment, the daughter shouldn’t even be a citizen in the first place and this entire case should be moot.

I want a background check on that judge. Fag was trying to keep a child separate from the child's parent. Even odds the child would have become part of that trafficking statistic.

I imagine a leftist judge would be living the two red buttons meme sweating at the choice between supporting the woman’s choice vs supporting the daughter’s choice, as the daughter can easily stay with the dad it would seem in the US. Few kids would choose to leave the US after having left the US for somewhere like Honduras.

I know some illegal families that came from Honduras. One came because it’s gang land out there and they had their house raided at gunpoint and their daughter got traumatized by it all. The other came to send money back to her country to support her family like a lot of them tend to. The latter’s mother is actually on death’s door, but she won’t go back to visit since she most likely won’t make it back into the US after that. That’s how much people don‘t want to go back to Honduras.

Funnily enough, the sons of the family that came here illegally are all big Trump supporters. Trying talking to them about whether that was wise in their particular case. They’d rather risk deportation than let Wokeism continue.

I’m pretty sure he’s an illegal as well.

Let me guess, the only “acceptable” solution would be to allow the mother to remain in the US…

No. It would be letting her stay, and shipping any remaining relatives, friends, and acquaintances from Honduras to here so that she can be more comfortable.

Even as Doughty made clear that he was disturbed by the government’s actions, in his order Friday the judge seemed to tip his hat to the president, adopting the term “Gulf of America” for the body of water traditionally known as the Gulf of Mexico.

lol, Politico still seething. Fuck you assholes 😆🖕

Oh no, the mother kept her child. I assume the judge was hoping for an abortion.

From a related court filing:

Respondent Harper stated that the father could try to pick [the child] up, but that he would also be taken into custody. Respondent Harper later sent an email further evincing her refusal to release [the child] to her custodian […] and stating that she would instead require [the child]’s father to turn himself in for detention and deportation.

I would have some (extremely) limited sympathy if the father was a US citizen and therefore his daughter’s citizenship was genuine. Obviously, however, the article is leaving out the part where the daughter shouldn’t even be a citizen in the first place.
