People still care about star wars that aren't insane leftists?
I gave up after tlj.
Yeah, tfa wasn't great, lots of issues, lots of woke shit, lots of bad writing, but it could have been salvaged. And then tlj just made it worse.
Rogue one was the best of the new star wars stuff that I'm aware of, and it was only a 6.5/10 or so. I'd have to rewatch to give a better opinion now, because it's been a while, but it also had a lot of things I found mediocre to stupid from the first time.
I've heard andor was good, but I refuse to pay for Disney plus, so haven't watched it.
Andor is enjoyable, but I would hold off on watching it until the second season is finished in a few months. I don’t trust them to not try and sneak in some stuff in a show about rising up against the government. Nothing concerning has come out to my knowledge yet but I’m prepared for it to happen.
I still do, even if it is a "I wont let them ruin my memories" sort of care. I still love and rewatch the 7 movies that are actually worth a damn (1-6+Rogue One), and I still love the old Expanded Universe. And I always will, even if I will never forgive Disney for ruining the newer movies.
I still don’t get why they didn’t allow the EU to continue. The fact they keep making re releases shows that people still buy it. Or why not do anime adaptations of EU stuff. If you haven’t seen it check out YouTuber Darth Angelus’s animated Heir to the Empire adaptation
But they own it. I guess for me that was the first red flag. You had a loyal group of EU fans but instead of throwing us a bone and continuing it along with their canon stuff they gave the middle finger. Guess I should’ve seen that first what it was
When I was young my parents got divorced, my mom moved us around a lot (and I mean a LOT, we were practically nomads for a few years), I would spend my summers with dad who also moved around a bit (not as much but still more than I would have liked) because of his job, because I'm introverted by nature it always took my a while to make friends when I would go to a new school so by the time I just made friends we were on our way to our next home, add on to that the changes that happen to everyone growing up, and constantly being told day after day that the world was going to end any day now and that when it did we (because we were good Seventh Day Adventists) would be subjected to torture and torment greater than anyone has ever felt before. My life was in a constant state of flux and I lived in a constant state of dread for many years. But through all of that Star Wars was a constant. I knew, wherever or however often I moved, I could always put on a SW movie or play a SW game and I could just lose myself in the galaxy far, far away and forget about everything for a few hours. Star Wars helped get me through some difficult years. So even though I'm in a much better (and more stable) place now SW will always be important to me. That's why I'm so annoyed at Disney for ruining it, and why no matter what they do they can never take away what it used to be.

Lol I did not expect to read about SDAs here. Sorry that caused you so much turmoil. The Matthew 24:21 prophecy is not supposed to put people in a state of fear and yet it often does.
I think millions and millions of people have had similar experiences with Star Wars, and because the libs and bean counters will never be able to understand this, they are constantly surprised by how strongly people feel about their corruption of the property.

The main problem is that SDAs are literally an end-of-the-world cult, growing up I probably spent more time listening to the preachers talk about Revelations than every other book combined. We were constantly being barraged with the end times and how it's definitely going to happen any day now. They went into vivid details about the horrors we would allegedly suffer (not exactly something you should be teaching a 9 year old). SDAs also shun non-SDAs (including other Christians) calling them "worldly" and I was literally taught I can associate with "worldly" people but I could never be actual friends with them. And while they'll never admit it they actually care more about the unhinged writings of Ellen G. White than they do the actual Bible.
Sorry for this rant, I try to caution people away from the SDA church as much as I can so I get kinda heated on this topic.
No that's fine, those are all observations that I've seen myself in some congregations. Unfortunately people can be excessive in focusing on that prophecy. But none of those practices are church teachings or how things are conducted at SDA schools, hospitals, or actually most churches.
For example, going into vivid details about the last days in Matthew 24. The Bible and prophecy offer key details, but anything beyond that is speculation.
Or shunning non-SDAs: most SDAs don't do this. Outside institutions and systems are referred to as "worldly" but given feminism and rainbow sludge permeating almost every single level of business in America, the shoe obviously fits.
Ultimately when you show people the prophecies about the Second Coming, some of them are going to take it the wrong way.
The thing about the original trilogy is how rewatchable it is. It’s great every time I see it again.
The prequels weren’t quite like that but the action and CGI was a blast. Even if the acting and writing were bad.
The sequels were awful. TGA wasn’t terrible, and it brought back some nostalgia but not worth seeing again. TLJ was woke bullshit that should’ve never been made. I regret watching it. The last sequel I didn’t watch.
Now, rogue one I’ve seen three times. It has some fantastic elements and really good scenes that echo the originals. However, rewatching it wasn’t the same. Each time I felt like the magic just wasn’t there. Maybe because I’m getting old and jaded. Still and good movie but lacking the rewatch factor.
Now, Andor was good. But it’s a different beast. It’s a slow build up to a crescendo back to a slow build up and another crescendo. But holy cow was it good. I’m terrified that they’ll ruin season 2 though.
No, most anime viewers are children. They have no political opinions, they just make whatever noises get them the most validation from their teachers and peers.
Not that 90% of adults don't also operate this way, but you know.
I don't think children consume much anime, you would have to mean under 12 because 13 is a teenager not a child. Most anime is too mature for most "children" to be entertained.
I wasn't even watching anime at 13.
So my point stands most anime viewers are liberal.
I would need to see more about this. If it is anything like the Star Wars: Visions (where Disney just let them go to town), it could actually be pretty interesting. And considering that even modern Anime has been able to do female characters that actually have depth and are interesting, it isnt necessarily a turn off for me.
But I have very little faith that Disney would be willing to do that again 4 years on, and will probably micromanage it to the point it becomes shit and they ruin anything good that could have come.
Are they desperate for money and anime are popular or are they trying to ruin anime since is the last medium that still makes media that appeals to guys?
Either way this is globalism corrupting another medium
if it's based on the short from the anthology, there's a sliver of a chance that it could be good. I won't hold my breath though, because Disney will have obviously sunk their teeth into it.

Fair, I should have said modern SW (and continuing to support it).
The old EU books were anywhere from top tier (Thrawn trilogy) to kinda weird, but still good (the last EU books pre disney).
I still don’t get why they didn’t allow the EU to continue. The fact they keep making re releases shows that people still buy it. Or why not do anime adaptations of EU stuff. If you haven’t seen it check out YouTuber Darth Angelus’s animated Heir to the Empire adaptation
because the eu was a huge back catalog of good shit that would directly compete with their slop

Rogue One sucked. Maybe it was partially because I waited so long to watch it and I'd heard all the hype for 2 years, but I thought it was bad.
I hate how disney and netflix is culturally appropriating anime lol.
Is sickening seeing the left starting to wear an anime skin suit.

The Force is Female after all. 🙄
That looks like an anime girl cosplaying as a Jedi for her high school talent show anime.
Wow

Yes
Is this anime or is this "anime"?
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/The_Ninth_Jedi
It is made by the Japan-based animation studio Production IG and written and directed by Kenji Kamiyana.
This is not anime, it's really real.
Sorry couldn't resist that joke .
Anyways if it's made from Production IG then it's made in Japan and it's animated, then it's technically an anime.
Technically
Butt-Head: Uhhhhhh...does she have big thingies?
if it's based on the short from the anthology, there's a sliver of a chance that it could be good. I won't hold my breath though, because Disney will have obviously sunk their teeth into it.
Longform, interesting. Didn’t think they’d do something in this style that wasn’t a short.
Their MC looks like the generic Adventure Quest female PC.
Its all female lead now with disney's star wars so I shan't be bothered to care.
