This is not a game.

It's a humiliation ritual for anyone who liked the first one. It must have really made the proverbial they mad, to have gone to such effort to retroactively ruin such an old niche game.

I reject the entire premise that they are "retroactively ruining" anything. The original Stars Wars trilogy is still incredible despite the garbage that came after. Pepe the Frog is ours despite his creator being a massive faggot. Joker references still resonate despite the awful sequel that nobody watched. The art stands for itself. It's only "ruined" if you let it be.

It's not the bad sequels made with simple incompetence that retroactively ruined the previous works, it's the revelation of how much the actors hate us that made the original series cringe to watch, especially if the sequels have people from the older series involved. The original trilogy is ruined because Mark hamil was in it. Star trek tng is ruined because Patrick Stewart was in it. Joker would have been ruined if Joaquin Phoenix was mouthing off tds all the time. The actors and directors are part of the brands' image even when they are off the stage. Games are less susceptible to this because they are made by coders nobody knew, who are expected to leave the company after 10 to 15 years, people who made the original games usually have nothing to do with the sequels, and until recently they don't mouth off about their customers

Don't know if I'd go that far but the politics did affect me. Picard used to be my favorite captain, but I now realize that Kirk was always the most based one.

I always liked kirk ..but ....it's programmed globalism or so via Coopers breakdown

Oh I didn't say they did it. I said that was the intent behind all this effort they put in. They're certainly trying to taint the original with this.

Vavra literally could have mitigated half of this controversy by simply not or stopping talking. The leaks would have still happened and blown up, but that would eventually fizzle out as people moved on.

But every time he has opened his mouth, it has reignited the flames with entirely fucking new controversies to hate on. Not just keeping the same ones going, but opening entire new fronts on this battlefield.

Its truly baffling how badly he has handling all of this.

They can't help themselves. Serpents love kvetching more than anything; they live for it.

Like you said, he could have just kept his mouth shut, but no. They have to run their mouth like a bitch.

The funniest thing to me is how unashamed he is about it. He's like a corrupt establishment politician who says crazy shit and knows they'll be reelected no matter what. He's pissing on your leg while looking you straight in the eyes and telling you it's rain. Vavra's the embodiment of chutzpah.

Its truly baffling how badly he has handling all of this.

IMO he knew that the leaks only scratched the surface of wokeness. He panicked hard because he knew it would all come out before release and affect sales.

He wanted to have his cake and eat it too, but cried out like a child when he lost both options.

They don't shut up because the point of all of it is to virtue signal, rub it in and attention seek. If they were at all serious about improving their game or listening to feedback they'd go the no mans sky route of staying quiet and getting to work.

If the game is a success than he can brag about it. He wants the controversy because he is certain the game will sell.

He defied all those "alt-right nazi chuds" and won. Bioware, Ubisoft, Firewalk, Rocksteady all failed to create a successful "woke" game to own the chuds but he did it.

Saddest part is that it does seem like he is winning and the game will be a financial success. Bleah, time to stop giving a shit.

It seems to be a success but only monetarily. No one is really praising the game in any way. The people who are talking about the non-controversial bits all say its a downgrade from the first in nearly every way, though apparently still good enough.

His actions have proven that he isn't fully in it for the money, he wants the accolades and fluffing. And so far the Woke crowd doesn't give a shit about him pandering to them, and everyone else either hates him or is blase to it.

So while right now he is "winning," in like a month's time he will be driving himself mad still fighting on twitter and his game will be forgotten. Double so because he released it early in the year, meaning by the time of Game Awards no one will remember it at all.

I wonder if all the stuff Trump did since he got in to office took away from Vavra's thunder. It is hard to care about turning Henry gay or having a black dude lecture you about how much central/ eastern Europe sucks when woke propaganda is being dismantled.

Although this is US and his main target audience I assume is Europe so who knows.

I think the timing on that worked in his favor. People were too high on winning leading up to the release to care about the leaks, and then about the time for release Trump slowed down (and the Gaza thing sprung up) which took a lot of that train away so people could begin talking about the game a lot (giving it a lot of free marketing).

Also American politics is European politics more than European elections and governments are, they are that obsessed with us, so that wouldn't effect it.

Wait WHAT? Is this true?? You can't access a single Christian church in a game set in the MIDDLE AGES?

Meanwhile they had an entire Monastery in the first game and FIVE churches.

The Dragon Quest series treats Christianity and the middle ages with more respect than this game.

Ubisoft is unironically treating Christianity with more respect in recent games.

AC: Valhalla - dozens of churches you could enter. Granted for purpose of robbing, but they were tastefully recreated, and the MC Eivor was discouraged from killing innocent priests and clerics; even if not very Viking like.

Far Cry 6 - several enterable churches, tastefully recreated in a Caribbean aesthetic. The villain of the game burns a church to the ground and that is depicted as a bad thing.

Far Cry 5 - One of the main characters, Father Jerome, is a Catholic priest. Several missions involve the MC protecting a church from attack. Also, Joseph Seed was right; enough said.

One of said churches is what you rebuild from an abandoned town you liberate from a group of bandits. The church was explicitly given priority to build and is the centerpiece to the town.

You know in the first region i've yet to spot a church

They're all small chapels, little rooms with a singular cross on a table (no frescos either)

Something is (((off))) about this, esp since the churches are mentioned in-game

I have tried searching quite a bit online and I can find 0 evidence that Katherine cucks Henry, let alone with the nonsense Musa character that shouldn't exist.

Who started this stupid rumor? What evidence is there that Katherine cucks Henry?
