I heard the latest shit they did was this , having AC Shadows merch with a broken tori gate which many there relate to the atom bombings.
Between ordinary citizens and Yakuza, I don't know who'd manage to beat them first if they DID come, can safely say French Japanese relations are at an all time low right now.
At first I thought it was just pure ignorance and Westerncentrism that kept them thinking they could get away with all their nonsense in this game. Standard Ubisoft retardation.
But at the rate of direct and very difficult to pull off by accident fuckups they have, this feels deliberate. Like they are actively trying to accomplish some task through sheer offense against the Japs.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was pulled by Ubisoft management realising how racist the team behind AC Shadows is and if they were left to go to Japan they'd end up running around Tokyo as Johnny Somali clones.
It's as if someone at Ubisoft is deliberately trying to get the Japanese people's attention and warn them of how toxic western media is becoming by being as offensive as possible. Like writing a message on a bomb casing they know will fail to detonate.

I've had the same sense, but it might be less specifically anti-Japanese and more the typical need to "own the chuds" that regressives have. They can't help themselves and always double-down.

Once with a group of young men who told him no more atomic bomb jokes, they're not yakuza, the second one I can't find is an older guy who made him parrot an apology in japanese and I think he was "former" yakuza or some shit.
Having said that, I have no doubt if you're a dickhead in public nothing would happen but a few threats and pressure to apologize. But if you continue to act like an idiot and not show respect to the person threatening you? I have zero doubt they'll come after you when the cameras are off. At that point it's not a national pride thing it's a personal one.

...you know... the sad part is instead of making it an assassin's creed game, they could have made a new game, set it in modern times, and had a black man somehow learn the ways of the samurai from an old man, trying to keep the old ways alive. could have done all sorts of things with that, maybe even started a new ip the way capcom did when their RE:4 concept strayed too far from the rezzy series.(Devil May Cry started out as a prototype for RE4).
