any online game is going to be spyware nowadays, if you are worried about your data or your privacy, I recommend having different machines for your personal and professional life and your gaming.
stalker fans got angry (in an ironic, but tangible sense) Anomaly added a singular female in the entire game, who for all intents and purposes acts like anyone else aside from having eyelashes and blonde hair.
unless GAMMA does something completely out of left field, there is probably negative woke in it
Remnant 2 isn't bad at all tbh, I'd skip this newest dlc though but the base game and first dlc are excellent.
Helldivers 2 as you mentioned. DRG is a very solid team shooter.
But there's not going to be any modern type shooters in the bunch. That genre is pretty much more poison than well at this point, and that's every bit as much the fault of the players as the devs/publishers.
I thought the level design and difficulty curve on Boltgun left a lot to be desired. There was a solid core in there but they fumbled it so goddamn hard.
Yeah, I am stuck at a part I think is near the beginning. It was building up, and suddenly I am being swarmed and need to clear the area before I can move on. Death Knights are transporting in, and the button moves are really awkward to use.
When I have to start doing laps around the arena searching for the last enemy and can't find them for a good five to ten minute stretch, you know you've botched your level design.
It's pretty dated now and personally I'm played out on it, but if you're considering things as old as CS and Apex then Hunt Showdown is still a solid game, albeit not exactly a generic shooter.
It's less spyware than some I guess, but it seems you really are out of luck these days if you want a remotely competitive multiplayer game that isn't running snooping anti-cheat programs at all.
The reason the anti-cheats are kernel level is because the cheats are also kernel level.
CS also has always had its pro players/anyone who wants to play actually good ranked use FACEIT client because normal CS has always been botted to hell.

ah yes, the don't be Atrioc setup. Simple and effective. Highly recommend.
Disregard multiplayer, return to single player.
I'm gearing up to give Stalker GAMMA a try this weekend, given my free time. We'll see how that susses out.
Let us know if there is any wokeness in it. I used to really like the STALKER games before the emergent-looter-extraction-survival genre took off.

Helldivers II uses a kernel-level anti-cheat malware.
Yes, yes it does. And sadly, that’s the least of their problems.

I love HD2 but it fits 100% into the category that OP complains about.
Put it on a VM. That's what I do.
Still playing DOOM and DOOM 2 with dosbox. Still fuckin' fun like it was 1993.
There’s always Duke3D.
It's your fault for playing AAA.
The indie scene continues to grow. There's been a whole lot of great shooters in the last couple of years. I'm talking singleplayer.
I did that once for GTA V on the ps3. It was a bad call.
Helldivers 2 has rootkit anticheat built in.
I've been enjoying Boltgun, and Space Marines 2 has a new trailer.
Space Marines 2 looks surprisingly masculine, like it comes out of 2009 for the Xbox 360, but with today's graphics.
I wonder if there is some kind of hidden diversity nonsense tucked away, or if they are actually making a game to make money from actual fans?
They've been working on it for a while. I'm guessing they're too cheap to make it DEI.

Probably not. It's a constant arms race against cheaters.

Not a game per say, but a community mod project to bring one of the best WW2 shooters to life https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-CGNyCgp1Dg
I'll take bot infested shithole over rootkits frankly.
Pub servers are pretty bot infested, but there's a lot of active community servers out there.
Also, it recently got an upgrade to 64-bit, so it's better optimized.
Welcome back, the wall is right over here.
Admittedly, it does make me laugh a little when his sentence pretends to be relevant for the first four words and then veers into his spam.
