"Yasuke" is the modern "Pope Johanna." A figure someone tries desperately to prop up, when there is more than enough evidence to refute their entire existence.

Yeah, I remember that too. That said, the Phantom Thieves' Personas were, if not thievery, themed around deception.
Right, but if memory serves the "deception" in that case was presented as a just thing she was doing to be a rebel (which was the theme for all of them, rebellion against authority) for some greater good.
Either way, considering how absurdly popular that game got amongst the Left I don't doubt its where a huge number of them even learned of her existence.

I enjoyed Afro Samurai
I didn't really like it for the same reason I didn't want to see Tom Cruise in a samurai movie.
While it had historical liberties "The Last Samurai" was period accurate. There were American military advisors there, updating the army.
It didn’t present itself as historical (not sure if the last samurai did or not) plus this was before I was beat down by the “you have to buy this game and live it because diversity”. I also can respect someone making something original. This was made for obvious reasons
Ghost Dog from the film Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai was also a cool black samurai who I'd personally recognize. Though I guess he wouldn't really count; he was more of an eccentric modern-day hitman who lived by the code of Bushido.
Main issue with this guy I take it is that AssCreed games tend to be historic settings in the past and all that. First time they went Japan, we can’t even have a Japanese male protagonist.
