It's currently why we are seeing different tactics from the western media:
Subversion: this is the tactic they used to undermine the West but it isn't that effective as they are running low on resources to do the same tactic they did in the west and Japan's natural xenophobia is a firm barrier.
Submission: I cannot fully tell, but from what WB has done, they seem to have just given their franchise over to anime studios to work on. Might keep them alive since they know how to make entertainment but will be interesting if studios just give Asian media the licensing to their franchises.
Mori Calliope is the only reason why I have any interest in the Suicide Squad anime at all, because she's the one who's going to sing the ED, so I hope the anime is actually good so I'm not here waiting a whole year for one song that's already a year old (Mori said on her birthday stream that she recorded Go Getters over a year ago, and that was the first week of April)
Yeah, I'll at least be checking it out. They've got Mori which is cool, and the trailer looked sort of interesting and, most importantly, not obnoxiously Western given the context.
It's very good. It's propaganda, but the message being propagated is that getting married and raising a family is rewarding despite the difficulties, and the challenges of being a father in particular are worth overcoming. All of it's in an over-the-top anime fashion, of course, but if you like anime to begin with, you'll probably enjoy it.
Season 1 was the most wholesome thing I've watched since Chi's Sweet Home. It is also extremely good. Season 2 fell off a bit, but I can unreservedly recommend season 1.
Honestly I think it might be some low key pro-natalism propaganda, but we could all do with some of that in our lives.
Man, how the anisphere has changed when enjoying Eva and sympathizing with the characters as they suffer can get you branded a pedo/creep. HO-LY-SHIT.
Although, it existing nearly 30 years in weebspace makes it almost ancient at this point. Only twice that length of time, and you have the era where anime was starting to blossom as a media format.
I was Rei's age when I watched Evangelion. Not apologizing for liking her. Besides I feel like there's an unsaid "if she was my age" thing when taking a side in the eternal Eva best girl debate.
Chained Soldier is still my favorite 180 expectation punch to see people get. All its descriptions and its first episode or so lead you to believe that its going to be some barely disguised femdom fetish, and then it spends its entire run being nothing but a conga line of breaking girls from their Matriarchy induced egos and smugness by forcing them to "service" the aforementioned slave soldier for his service in battle.
I don't know how far the anime has gotten or turned out (I'm terrible at keeping up with weekly releases and am still on ep3), but the manga is a legitimately good Battle Series after the first dozen chapters of ecchi comedy and is what keeps me reading it. Which is another 180 expectation because you'd expect them turning down the fanservice and focusing on fights to make it less interesting, but somehow it has worked.
by forcing them to "service" the aforementioned slave soldier
Isn't that only two of them? The rest of the harem doesn't even need the plot device. Shushu's honestly curious about men and Tenka... Tenka's just plain old weapons-grade horny.
The level of "force" necessary varies, but I think it can be said at least that without the "forced" requirement, most of them wouldn't have gone that far at the least as an opening move.
A few are already willing and its just an excuse, others aren't forced but wouldn't have the balls to do it without being forced, and others are actually and fully being forced against their will. One of which is a major character and a huge part of the story is building towards her shame about that "embarrassment" making decisions for her.
I'm not sure how much the anime has changed (need to catch up), but I think the scales are heavily tipped on "wouldn't do it otherwise" level of force.
Waiting on Chainsaw Man and Youjo Senki season 2, nothing else has really caught my interest. Kimetsu no Yaiba got real old real fast, but I suppose I'm an old man now.
I'll check that out, thanks! Things I've liked a lot in the past: Dorohedoro, Knights of Sidonia, Kakegurui, Ergo Proxy, Lupin III, Kill la Kill.
Demon Slayer
The animation and music is really in a class of its own. My interest though petered out during "Katanakaji no Sato-hen" - only watched the first few episodes but it seemed like they were retreading the same ground yet again and not really advancing the plot.
It’s so weird to me that at this point full blown revolution of many countries hinge on essentially cartoons made in Japan. If the DEI and company sink their claws into anime people will genuinely be angry enough to do something about it
That's one reason the woke want to colonize Japan with their religion

And those new fans are slowly fucking things up.
Those aren't fans, they're tourists, ALWAYS remind them of that
Yep, everything that becomes mainstream turns to shit.

Yes, surprisingly family friendly too since despite the spy assassin dynamic it focuses a lot more on family values.
Yes, it's a case like Frieren where Reddit retards like it because it's actually really good.

I didn't really get into the second season personally, but the first season is excellent, and hilarious.

Chad answer would be to go for Misato
Misato needs some love, too lol.
I was Rei's age when I watched Evangelion. Not apologizing for liking her. Besides I feel like there's an unsaid "if she was my age" thing when taking a side in the eternal Eva best girl debate.
Lol no, fuck off. Make liking anime lame again, we're full and don't need Hollywood retards
was it ever not?

Are you more into the action with slight comedy side as I'd recommend Kaiju No. 8 that's new this season.
Demon Slayer is good it's just they went crazy with the effort they put into voice acting, music and animation.
I'll check that out, thanks! Things I've liked a lot in the past: Dorohedoro, Knights of Sidonia, Kakegurui, Ergo Proxy, Lupin III, Kill la Kill.

I have to give chainsaw man another go. I might have made it 2 eps in before giving up
Chainsaw Man is really good but the anime was extremely disappointing.
Yeah thats fair maybe stick to the manga
MAPPA is currently working on the Reze arc movie for Chainsaw Man, so keep an eye out.
Left field recommendation: try some older ones like Hellsing Ultimate or FMA or the OG hunter x hunter from the early 2000s(i think?).
When was this announced and why was I not told of this?
https://myanimelist.net/anime/49233/Youjo_Senki_II?q=Youjo%20Senki&cat=anime
Seems like it is/was speculated to come out sometime this year. Yeah, I know that site sucks but I haven't bothered to find anything better.
Meh, that site is already how I keep track of all the stuff I'm watching and they've been pretty accurate for tracking stuff that's coming out.
Don't worry. The woke is coming for Japan.
