It's currently why we are seeing different tactics from the western media:
Subversion: this is the tactic they used to undermine the West but it isn't that effective as they are running low on resources to do the same tactic they did in the west and Japan's natural xenophobia is a firm barrier.
Submission: I cannot fully tell, but from what WB has done, they seem to have just given their franchise over to anime studios to work on. Might keep them alive since they know how to make entertainment but will be interesting if studios just give Asian media the licensing to their franchises.
Mori Calliope is the only reason why I have any interest in the Suicide Squad anime at all, because she's the one who's going to sing the ED, so I hope the anime is actually good so I'm not here waiting a whole year for one song that's already a year old (Mori said on her birthday stream that she recorded Go Getters over a year ago, and that was the first week of April)
Yeah, I'll at least be checking it out. They've got Mori which is cool, and the trailer looked sort of interesting and, most importantly, not obnoxiously Western given the context.
