I'd like to see body cam of the incident, not that I don't believe an officer can't be this much of a prick to do this but that equally I can believe the person arrested can not be telling the full truth about the situation.

If it's pre body cam then now you know why we have them.

I’m immediately skeptical of any story like this because its sole purpose is to stir things up. I’m all for police accountability but this isn’t what the goal is here

I remember that black army sgt woman that got pulled over and claimed it was because she was black and the officer was threatening her yadda yada. She released a video crying on the side of the road. It made the rounds, so the cops released the video. Cop was pleasant as punch without threats or name calling

Exactly. Plus since there is a ridiculously high demand for white racism I am very skeptical of such claims because all it takes is a sob story and the media runs with it with zero evidence.

"black" "army Sargeant" "woman" I mean that explains it all

What ticks me off is the background music. The "dramatic" type, just there to make you react in anger about what's being said. Just a dirty manipulation trick, show me the actual footage.

Reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Homer is falsely accused of sexual harassment and they use that dramatic music on him

I don't believe anything said in clickbait videos. People do get stuck in jail for dumb shit.

The whole segment smells fishy to me.

There's being a prick, and then there's raging psychopath. It does smell fishy.

I'd have to see hard proof that the dude was even arrested for "obstructing justice", let alone convicted, let alone served "like, uh, 60 days" in jail. His name probably isn't even James Bond.

The guy with the dumb and dumber haircut getting immediately hauled out through his car window sounds like bullshit to me too.

Not exactly the first time someone would go on the internet and just lie for a shitty clickbait storytime.

He really does need arrested for that haircut.

It's surprisingly common for people to not know why they are in jail. They don't do a good job of communicating their case, or anything in jail. If he were denied bond, for whatever reason, that probably explains the 60 days. That's speedy for the government.

And I’ve heard of similar cases with whites or Hispanics. They love to hyper focus and make a mountain out of a molehill

No chance we're getting an accurate account of what happened.

I'm not sure we can say this is a race thing as much as a "cops are assholes" thing. I mean the white guy with the same name got dragged out of the car and held at gunpoint in a similar situation.

Once things get past a certain point, the system is loath to simply say "we made a mistake and we apologize", because they wrongly believe that admitting fault will somehow lessen people's respect for them. I think this mistaken belief that they're protecting the system overall is behind a lot of really fucked up rulings by judges excusing absolutely outrageous behavior by cops.

In fact it's the opposite, admitting your mistakes and making amends is a sign of maturity and legitimacy. Making a bad situation worse by punishing someone unjustly instead of just backing down when you're at fault is what actually undermines faith in the system.

100% of these cases are absolutely false, even if they have direct camera evidence of it happening exactly the way they described it happening.

It always feels like there's parts of the story being left out when the cop supposedly turns a situation from a 1 to an 11 at the drop of a hat. I get that they have their bad days, but come the fuck on. All it fucking takes is an ID check. Literally zero reason a normal human being gets that hostile for no fucking reason.

What do you bet he said "the name's bond... james bond" in exactly the same way we're all thinking?
