this is not representative of our institutional values
Educating about the birthplace of an important figure in history? Yeah I guess that couldn't be further from the values of an indoctrination institution.
TBF that is, best case scenario, pretty fucking weird to show at a fucking football game even if we didn't see see Hamas try and break his best Jew killing day record.
Like seriously, Charles Manson & Jeffrey Dahmer are historical figures too but it would be weird at a major sporting event to see "This cannibal was born the same day Mauritania became independent of France in what's known as the "Year of Africa". WHAT YEAR WAS IT?"
I don't know, it's what looks like 81 minutes prior to the game. It's some generic trivia they put up there to give people that were going to sit there for a ln hour something to to do. Not like it's something they put up during a timeout in the middle of the game.
Hitler is not "generic" trivia. "Which Friends alum starred in films with Bruce Willis?" is generic trivia, not "This failed children's entertainer murdered over 30 teenage boys and buried them in his crawl space. Can you name this "Killer Clown"?"
And there's lots of world history that isn't about genocidal maniacs they could have used. Are you so internet-brained you can't see the obvious problem with this?
I think this is a bad analogy but I'm having trouble putting into words why. I don't think any random infamous murderers (except maybe Jack the Ripper?) are considered "historical figures" on the level of Hitler, the ""legitimate"" leader of Germany at the time. He was responsible for lots of deaths but he wasn't a "serial killer" and there's a lot more taught about him at school, so it's trivia that a lot of people could guess. Pol Pot is much less discussed in North America (referencing your other comment) so questions about him would make less sense.
Anyway if the trivia was about Manson and Dahmer, it would be really strange but somehow I doubt it would make headlines or there would be such an official statement released.
They really voldemorting Hitler huh (sorry for the Harry Potter reference but it was either that or a Stalin reference), he was charismatic and arrived at a time Germany was at it's most desperate for direction.
We NEED to learn from history to avoid that situation again, going 'I'm triggered' everytime you learn a dark part of humanity should revoke all rights to vote on the future immediately.
That's the unfortunate truth, if you put either the world turning into that scene from Event Horizon or giving the keys to power to a madman who would stop that happening, the madman wins EVERY time.
The lesson is, never MAKE a situation where that's an 'either/or' question.
Nobody's saying school's shouldn't teach about Hitler, but it's pretty fucked up they put one of the biggest genocidal maniacs in history on the scoreboard for gameday trivia.
Not really as he's a historical figure, so long as it's historical and not currently happening then it's free for use.
Besides he STILL doesn't come close to the commies in terms of genocide, and even during WW2 the Japanese were WAY WORSE. So long as it's just 'when was this guy born' then it's a non issue.
There are kids who come to these games, why are you people having so much trouble thinking we shouldn't be putting Pol Pot pics at a Saturday afternoon college football game???
Like Jesus you guys, go outside and touch some grass- this is a very sane thing to be offended by. It is possible for normal, reasonable people to be offended by normal, reasonable things.
Yes dude please do go fucking touch grass, the only people shitting their pants over “where was hitler born” trivia questions are spastic zionists who think there’s a pogrom hiding in their walls
If you can't see why giant photos of Hitler at sporting events is bad, especially <2 weeks after the biggest slaughter of Jews since him, I don't think I can help you.
I never said "a picture of hitler is an endorsement of his actions", just that it was inappropriate at a fucking football game- something every non-retard agrees on.
On what planet is history something to hide from children? Children need to learn from it. Most people alive in the US today were likely taught about ww2 at least in passing in elementary school. No, a random trivia question about a historical figure is not reasonable to break down over, especially at a COLLEGE football game. Even at a little league game this would be fine.
On what planet is sex something to hide from children? Let's have anal sex trivia at football games because they need to learn from it!
You wouldn't teach a 4 yr old about the Holocaust any more than you'd teach a 4 yr old about anal sex because it's not age appropriate. And there are serious topics taught in a classroom you don't show on the fucking Jumbotron.
Hitler is more than just "an historical figure", if you can't see that you're either retarded or something far worse...
Hitler needs to remain the insanely over the op comic book villain. So anything that might suggest "he who shall not be named" was anything but a spawn from hell is not allowed.
It's just a strange idea in general, having trivia at a sports event that isn't about the sport, team, local area, or some corporate sponsor. Bringing up Hitler at most any college campus is going to cause panic attacks because Voldemort. Put a current conflict with jews into the mix, and this is a recipe for disaster.
You can probably find a cricket team called Hitler in India right now, brown people don't have white guilts about something that happened on the other side of the world 80 years ago
The reason it's more complicated over there is the UK was their colonial oppressor. It's not like the US which had become butt buddies with England at that point.

If trivia about a dead historical figure triggers people so badly they need to throw a fit over it, that's a them problem.
Hitler is taught about in middle schools. If people can't handle WW2 trivia or an image of hitler they're actually lunatics.
You sound Jewish.

It turns out that putting an end to degeneracy makes people willing to overlook a lot of things.

I am reaching that point. It might just take a madman.

Tell me you're a kyke without telling me you're a kyke
Oh you're retarded, aren't you.
The soviets killed more jews than hitler ever managed, and more people in general as well.
No, a picture of hitler is not an endorsement of his actions.

Hitler didn’t fund hamas
He's a Hero to Many.

"How dare Hitler..." [checks notes] "be born"

In about 150 years there will be a team called the Hitlers.
Their merch is going to be sweet.
You can probably find a cricket team called Hitler in India right now, brown people don't have white guilts about something that happened on the other side of the world 80 years ago
Didn't they fight for the UK?
The reason it's more complicated over there is the UK was their colonial oppressor. It's not like the US which had become butt buddies with England at that point.
Quite funny. Not sure how it happened but the school is mortified.
The facial expression is pure kek
Yeah whoever did that was definitely trying to troll
Probably was just going for the hehe 420 joke
