Like I said, it's not an ideological treatise. It's a drama. It doesn't present his perspective regarding his family, the war, his issues with the military, his bizarre and precarious command position in the end of the war, etc.

Seriously though there are no Nazis, but the amount of new "noticers" the absolute ridiculousness of this propaganda creates must benefit vehement anti-jews a little bit, by proximity. Creating your own personal holocaust fantasy doesn't benefit jews, the same way creating a rape fantasy doesn't benefit women, the same way white supremacist fantasizing doesn't benefit blacks, the same way pretending child drag shows are normal doesn't benefit people with gender dysphoria.

The nazi chess scene is probably just a bad remake of Carrion Comfort’s use of human chess. At least the Nazi in Carrion Comfort had psychic powers to force others to his will, which was also the point of the entire book.
Why do Jews have this thing with performative masochism? You could argue black people have the same thing but not really because even though all their narratives revolve around slavery and cops, they still find ways to look cartoonishly triumphant e.g. Yakub and George Floyd murals. But Jews just love to tell stories of evil Europeans lynching them and they don't seem to express ethnic pride in the traditional way.
