That will just make murder unsafe. We need to legalize and regulate murder with large costs at every step with promises to fix broken infrastructure using that money. We will all be happier as the murderer will be properly controlled and only murder those chosen by society.

If God truly didn't exist then we're just a bunch of atoms and it doesn't matter if we live or die but no one actually behaves like that's true.
They also don't behave like an afterlife existing is true, though. People cry at funerals, instead of exalt and cheer, for one has achieved immortality and infinite joy through death. So it's not a good argument. Most arguments that start with "humans are smart and rational and their actions can be looked at as a logical basepoint" aren't good arguments.

People who genuinely believe in a tangible afterlife are relatively rare but they still outnumber true consistent nihilists by several orders of magnitude. It should be the other way around if materialism is the more logical viewpoint.

You can, you just then need to resolve The Problem Of Good (for the one side) or The Problem Of Evil (for the other side). Either an omnipotent god exists and thus all is God's plan including the torture of innocents, or an omnipotent god does not exist and thus pure sacrificial goodwill needs a rational explanation.
The answer is free will. Like it or not, for your neighbor to have free will then the choice has to be on the table for him to be a dick to you, to piss in your lawn, or to vote for a government that will genocide your race. That's why you're not getting graded for what he does - only what you do and how you respond to someone else using their free will to fuck you.

They want us to believe it happened at least twice, and in the amount of time we've allegedly been here. In that time frame, the other life form has advanced to the point where they can build possibly interstellar vehicles that can outspeed any craft humans have fielded in all of history.

There's never been a discovery of an operations base, any outpost or staging area for all of these scouting teams' reconnaisance craft...which, they would have to be - the second humans could, 'we' made the nuclear and hydrogen bombs, and everyone else who had the know-how and 'privilege' followed suit, yet none of these craft seem to have any kind of weapons system like our military craft do; and I'm just humoring these dumbass boffins at this point, I don't believe it. The gun laws are fine. It's humans that don't obey them who are the problem. When I was bullied, I didn't slaughter innocent classmates. I just made sure that what I did was enough to make the bullies never want to target anyone else.
