Once you start to see this stuff, you can't un-see it. The GOP rails against "wokeness" and then frames issues as "women and minorities most affected." They aren't "pointing out hypocrisy" of Dems either. They are selling a softer version of BLM to the GOP base.
Welcome to “conservative” politics 101. Claim to have a stand, then fold on said “lines in the sand” in place of personal profits. This is why the neocon rot has to be completely purged at every level.
Just "Dems are the real racists" all the way down
That's because "conservatism" isn't a political ideology. "What the left is 20 years ago" isn't a joke, it's a literal definition.
Conservatism is an empty, nothing ideology. It's simply is the opposition to change or at most the desire to return to tradition. That's why most "conservatives" now support gay marriage, an unthinkable position 15 years ago.
Traditionalism would be an actual ideology. conservatism just wants to go to the last iteration of society.
Well, at least they evolved from "women most affected" TERF crap.
They haven't. They will still do that, too.
Hopefully DeSantis goes down like the "Chinese spy balloon". Then it'll end.
It really won't.
I would fully support a politician that was honest and said that.
The problem is all of the niggers, not their politics. Violent and impulsive morons are gonna cause turmoil no matter who they vote for.
To the extent such Dems face any pressure (and some of them do), it has little to do with this type of messaging coming from the GOP.
I don't see the problem with pointing out "hey, this party claiming it represents group X actually pursues policies that disproportionately harm that very same group.
There are worse examples of GOP pandering.
That's not what they are doing. The urban blacks they are pretending to care about have a decades-long one-party loyalty to the Dems even as their cities have been shit that entire time. That relationship works on machine politics and the Dems' relationship with black churches. The GOP isn't winning them over, and they know it. They are selling ideology to their existing voters.
...Yes, so what's wrong statement that might prompt some of them to open their eyes and leave the democrat plantation?
The best thing blacks could do for themselves is stop voting in democrats whose interest in them begins and ends with keeping them dependent on welfare.
Generally its considered bad form to waste time on pipe dreams, especially to the detriment and outright ignoring of actual tangible results you can get from your efforts on those who have been supporting you.
Trump had some of the greatest improvement to black lives of any president in memory, while Biden outright told them he was the arbiter of if they counted as black or not. All that work spent for 4 years of helping them, including not putting half their adult population in prison for BLM rioting amounted to a whopping 3% of them "leaving the plantation." With a full 90% still voting for the blue.
Trump's refusal to crack down on the BLM riots was the soft bigotry of low expectations and it did absolutely nothing to help black people.
If Trump wanted to help black people, he should have exposed democrat lies. Black people live their lives believing thousands of unarmed blacks are shot by cops every year. The real number is about ten.
He should have denounced Floyd of the junkie he was and put Floyd's record on blast. Instead, Floyd's criminal history was info you would only find if you watched Tucker Carlson or followed the right youtube and twitter accounts.
Trump did nothing to combat the left's stranglehold on discourse. He had absolute tunnel vision on the economy.
As for 'wasting time on pipe dreams', a tweet takes literal seconds.
I mean, it kept a huge portion of their population from being in jail. They are a small minority, the amount involved in rioting and looting would actually put a dent in their numbers (and ability to vote). It absolutely helped them on a personal level.
Ah, so your entire argument hinges on "do this thing I made sound super easy that instantly works and wins!" Makes sense why you think the way you do, but unfortunately we live in the real world where its never that easy and nobody actually cares about the lies. They just want the gimmies. None of them gave a shit about Floyd, just like they didn't care about Trayvon or Michael Brown, it was an excuse to be angry, be racist, and steal/burn shit.
The blacks proceeded to burn, loot and murder because they knew they were allowed to.
They should have walked straight into a wall of rubber bullets, and if they kept walking, lead ones. You do not get good behavior without discipline.
You will not that blacks were better behaved when they could expect air strikes for their crimes.
Generally if your group of people have a majority turn into uncivilized immoral monsters the moment they don't have immediate and direct consequence, they aren't capable of higher levels of thinking like "they were lying to you!" and "deny immediate gains for long term success!" This isn't an isolated incident, they do it in every single instance that it occurs across generations on a consistent and majority level.
Which is why even the "literal seconds" of tweeting is wasted effort on pipe dreams.
And look where it got them. Like Trump said: what do you have to lose by backing the GOP?
Agree. But is that a problem?
That didn't work at all. The GOP continues to get its usual ~10% of the black vote.
Which part, the Dems' relationship with black voters or the GOP's soft pedaling black idpol to its voters?
It didn't. I think the focus on blacks was a mistake, esp. as the GOP got +10% of the Latino vote by simply not being retarded. Imagine if they had focused on that more (and I know you probably wouldn't like that).
I just don't see how pointing out Dems' harmful policies to the people they use as their mascots is "black IDPol".
Imagine if they kept the country whiter. That would have been their best option electorally, but they care less about winning elections than serving their donors.
You wouldn't like it either if you were actually opposed to idpol and not just when white people do it.
I already explained this. They are selling soft BLM mentality to their mostly white voter base. They aren't moving the needle with blacks, as you just acknowledged. Whites need to have our own (precarious) future as the basis of our politics, not worrying about saving blacks from themselves.
Correct.
More people voting GOP is not "IDPol". You just like to brand anything as that in order to justify IDPol for white people.
That's a separate issue. If the mentality sells, it's because it is appealing at this moment. If you view things differently, then sell that mentality to people so this is no longer appealing.
People won't stop caring about black people simply because the GOP stops using these appeals. That's not how things work, and it's surprising that a normally crafty strategic realist like you would not see that.
You are talking about pandering to Hispanics, right? The GOP already does a ton of that, too.
You've got this all turned on its head. The white GOP voter base never had any in-built fondness or care for blacks. To the extent they have that at all, it's because of propaganda like this.
The GOP isn't pandering to its voters. It's trying to shape their worldview. It doesn't even appear to be very appealing at the moment, either, considering the GOP's underwhelming performance lately. 2016 Trump showed you what worked - anti-immigration, anti-crime, anti-intervention, snubbing corporate interest in favor of populism. The GOP, including him, would just rather lose than live up to that rhetoric.
If there were ever a politician who could have captured black votes away from Democrats, it would have been Trump.
Instead, because of how the political machine works, now they all think he's a big racist.
The GOP knows they aren't winning the black vote. They just don't want to openly be the "White Party" because that spooks their Jew handlers. It's their role to wrangle their white voter base into supporting shitty, self-destructive views and policies. They want their white voters to be deracinated and politically impotent. The GOP isn't trying to sell themselves to black voters. They are trying to sell their own brand of diversity to their white voters. That's the point of this type of messaging.
That really painful "war on women" Trump speech? God I'm glad he never repeated it. That thing should have stayed in Ivanka's warped mind.
"Conservative" political parties are often just Liberals driving the speed limit.
The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of Conservatives is to prevent mistakes from being corrected. Even when the revolutionist might himself repent of his revolution, the traditionalist is already defending it as part of his tradition.
capital b
Let's be honest, people are retarded and would vote for the person that says 'nice thing' as they endure blackouts and crime and boo an honest guy that says 'your culture celebrates your criminality'
So this a 'whatever' for me to be mad at politicians especially since I'd lie to get into power then do this to all my useful idiots day 1
Just leave it at crime is on the rise. They don’t want to get into the root issues regarding said crime which would take guts. I would say I’ve seen worse cases of “negro worship”
A lot of it is because boomers don't understand that leftists don't actually care if you're racist or not when they call you a racist and trying to prove them objectively wrong. It's well intentioned but pointless.
this reads to me like they are using the Dem's rhetoric against them.
It is losing the war.
They are accepting, and promoting, the premise that "disproportional impact" that negatively afgects blacks is a valid metric.
They will never mention anything that "disproportionally impacts" whites, men, or Christians as a bad thing.
I'm not so sure. Simply replying "nuh-uh!" to a concept is not much of a refutation, and really only works for tribalism. if you can take your opponent's logic, and bend it against them, then watch them squirm as their supporters get red pilled, that is a much bigger political victory in my opinion.
it's harder to do, and I'm not sure if OP is going to pull it off much, but it's not trying at all is a defeatist attitude.
Absolutely is when the concept is a kafkatrap. If accept that "disproportionately affects blacks" is valid then you put yourself in a no-win situation. Either you agree with the next thing which is usually some commie agenda pushing, or you are morally invalidated through "racism". The real explanation of why anything "disproportionately affects blacks" is outside of the overton window so you have to dance around it and can never really make an argument.
Why mention race it at all?
In Biden's America, Democrat run cities have become unlivable due to out-of-control crime.
That is a perfectly reasonable normieboomer take but it goes harder for those who are with it and know that crime is a synonym for blacks.
I don't see anything wrong with this.
A day where the Imp and I agree.
There's no lie being told. Democrat policies increase crime rates, and they increase it most drastically in majority black areas.
Who destroyed black families? Democrats.
Who keeps blacks hooked on, and dealing in drugs? Democrats.
Who does everything in their power to keep blacks receiving welfare and having no incentive to do honest work? Democrats.
Who uses affirmative action to call into doubt the legitimacy of any black person with educational attainment? Democrats.
We don't call them DemonKKKrats for nothing.
They're not stupid, they are just another enemy.
