Except they’ll be wasting taxpayers money, not their own, it’s a lose lose. And the people who are watching, single women, are the democrats largest voting base
Revenue for their parks is up over 70% YoY, and Disney+ isn’t struggling so much as not achieving the unlimited growth Wall Street seemed to think was possible.
Disney is far from dying yet, and even if they continue to fuck things up they’re probably “too big to fail.”
Disney is a very female staffed company now, and they have no idea why old Disney used to be so good. This video going over their new cruise liner helps illustrate that in many ways.
All of the money that was used to prop up these companies for propaganda is running dry or so worthless thanks to inflation that it may as well be lunch money.
Which is great, though they can't rely on McDonald's as a fallback, a lot of the ones I've seen switched tills for interactive boards to order so even they got automated!
I wonder if it isn't that the West has crossed an event horizon and now the propaganda simply isn't necessary anymore. If we're already sunk from the decades of psyops, then why would our enemies bother to continue funding said operations?
That or they can't fund it themselves, China is in a BAD state, Russia is dealing with an active war, the 'darlings of propaganda' no longer have the same impact and I'm waiting to see how much of Europe freezes to death due to constant inaction.
The robotic backend could destroy McDonald's. Once there is no reason to have all the workers, there is no reason to have most of management. Suddenly one competent guy is running all the McDonald's in the district and the restaurant is something akin to a soda machine.
Since McDonald's is really a real estate and rental company, having everything change means their actual profits disappear. The mall has 200 restaurants in the food court, and it's run by one guy. He does well, but the companies don't.
If Twitter makes a profit, then all of the other social media companies will follow it. That will likely destroy the reason to be paid for propaganda. The entire middle management and other classes have no reason to exist. We as a people move forward, but the depression from the job losses will be terrible to watch.
I should elaborate, they only automated the ordering process, which is an improvement as have you met the public, I'd want to reduce my time interacting with them too. They now have less on tills, more in the kitchen.
And I think that's the way forward from now on, humans make the product but no longer have to deal with idiotic people ordering taking 5 minutes to order a cheeseburger
The automat was sort of a trick. People pulled the ropes and got food, but it was being placed by people. The system we have now is the same just more open about what is happening.
I think that perpetuating the removal of human interaction wherever possible will have negative long term consequences. Humans are social animals and if we are making active efforts to reduce social interaction...well that's not gonna end with a healthy well adjusted population.
It depends on the interaction. Most guests I have met don't really want to talk to the staff or deal with people. Talking to equals is different from the help.
Even the people in the kitchen are on a short timer I suspect. I've seen videos of burgers, pizza and coffee being made by vending machines (and I know burrito vending machines exist, just don't know if there's one which makes the burritos or if it's just per-packaged ones). While I wouldn't count on a robot-built burger for quality, or a vending machine for the best food hygiene, I would not count on McDonalds for quality or cleanliness either.
There is also something to be said that Disney and many companies like it are making a bunch of stupid choices off of the idea that they will never fail.
There was a business podcast I was listening to where they were talking about how Florida is planning on building a high-speed rail network to all of its major cities. At Orlando, the rail company decided to look into building stations at some of the major amusement parks. The railroad went to Disney and asked them for a bid. Disney scoffed and said that if anything, the railroad should be paying them for driving traffic. Negotiations stalled, right up until Universal Orlando walked in and said they would be willing to pay for that station, and the railroad agreed.
That is something that won’t be noticed immediately, but in a few years when Disney is losing business because people go to the easier to access Universal, they will scratch their heads and say “what happened?” All because they thought they were hot shit that would never lose.
They thought because of their legacy (all thanks to Walt that they currently trying to distance themselves from) that they don't need to negotiate, they print money, all their products are gold so people should be thankful they are even involved and should pay them for the privilege.
goy, there's a big crash incoming, if you haven't learned by looking at which sidereal constellation this fucked up eclipse took part in, learn by all the big companies downsizing
Good, die Disney.
They won’t die, the democrats will step in and bail them out because they are the largest propaganda wheel for them
Let them waste money. Reason that they’re failing in the first place is no one is watching their propaganda.
Except they’ll be wasting taxpayers money, not their own, it’s a lose lose. And the people who are watching, single women, are the democrats largest voting base
And would be regardless of propaganda...

I heard the opposite. Parks were failing gradually and Disney+ was like amazon+, a failure,
That's pretty easy to do when their parks were closed for most of the preceding year, and open for this one.
The question is, what is park revenue compared to, say, 2018?
China is no longer buying Disney so all the have are single white women

At the very end of the "Confusing Design" section, the project lead admits to never having set foot on a cruise ship before running the project.
Now, I'm not saying project executives need to be subject matter experts, but I have to imagine a passing familiarity with the subject helps.

I know. There are robotic systems being promoted right now to places like McDonald's as a replacement for those workers.
scary thing is they seem like feasable options...
Will they be able to program the robots to be snotty, surly dipshits that get your order wrong?
The low quality of most fast food workers is the main reason I stopped going to fast food restaurants.
Getting the order wrong? It will happen. Surely jerk? Talk to the engineer in charge.
Is it really all that different than the old automat concept?
The automat was sort of a trick. People pulled the ropes and got food, but it was being placed by people. The system we have now is the same just more open about what is happening.
Next step in evolution.

The era of the Automat returns! dons trenchcoat and fedora while laughing

Universal has a habit of swooping in and making deals.
They thought because of their legacy (all thanks to Walt that they currently trying to distance themselves from) that they don't need to negotiate, they print money, all their products are gold so people should be thankful they are even involved and should pay them for the privilege.
And look where that's currently got them..

stock up or perish
The 51% female board remains, of course.
They do 13% of the work.
That’s being very generous.
