They have blamed gamergate for Trump 2016, Brexit, anti-CRT movement, stopping vax/mask mandates.

I unironically think that Gamergate is part of the reason Trump won in 2016.
Because of Gamergate, more people understood the media apparatus and the 4AM talking points and slack channels that they use to stay on message, so the fake news generated by the media against Trump did not work as well as in years past.
