How often do y’all still use Reddit? If you don’t use it anymore or rarely use it what was the final straw? I used it pretty frequently up until the summer of love when it seemed every subreddit had to turn into a discussion on race with zero disagreements. Compound that with moderators being mad if someone said “this is a subreddit about babes all cards, why are we talking about this?” Of course covid nonsense started shortly after. I don’t get ont it very much anymore outside of the Skyrim subreddit and very rarely sports (the Dallas Cowboys and even Hockey subreddits went crazy).

Closed a bunch of subreddits for wrongthink and .win was born. I find it demoralizing that people prioritize their scroooling interests and habits in continuing to use these sites that actively work to undermine and suffocate everything we believe in.
But Reddit sounds like a good idea. I guess I’ve learned anything can be a platform for left wing garbage. I never thought I’d get a lecture about racism on a baseball card forum
Reddit was purchased by some globalist megacorp a few years ago. Tons of money goes into making sure the entire site is "advertiser friendly", which in current year means not pissing off terminally online social rejects. Said terminally online social rejects almost invariably lean hard left. Thus, left wing echo chamber. But an artificial one. Leftism cannot survive without tyranny, oppression, and propaganda.
Ironically the libertarian left could but now it's dying due to all the damage caused by the regressive left and how communism always results in a descent into tyranny.
Most libertarian leftists these days are either retards who failed to properly politically adapt or regressive leftists who call themselves that because they are morons.
Reddit exists to gaslight you on politics by consensus cracking subjects in a highly controlled environment. The interests that the individual subs focus on are just a lure, excuse, or incentive on your end to get you into that controlled environment. Reddit makes jack squat from labeled ads in the age of third party apps and adblockers, they make their real revenue as a cesspit of favor-finance and have been forever, even before the original owner and his business model & company mission statements were all suicided.
Just my personal understanding of course.
I read it without an account.
It's not worth posting on because you cannot express a worthwhile opinion on anything without some tranny moderator coming after you. I hope it dies.
I delete and make a new one every year. However, Reddit is only acceptable to use if:
1.Advertising your brand/product.
2.Dedicated to a specific hobby.
3.Are a bored wagie.
4.Should probably be doing homework instead.
I used to be a cringe, thanks-for-the-gold-kind stranger-tier redditor. Haven't used it, other than clicking through to search results, since the donald got banned. I can't stand the users on that site. They are groveling, oversocialized faggots who massively overestimate their own intellects. They are incapable of original thought. They'll never express an opinion which is not approved by the other kind strangers. I know people in real life who use it regularly. They are all fat, manchild consoomers.
I had mostly quit before Covid. The discussion quality had just fallen off. The same discussion tactics leftists use spills over into unrelated things, e.g. "You aren't allowed to not like _______! It's factually good and any criticism you have against it are lies!"
I would occasionally harass people until late last year. All my accounts are banned, generally for reporting abuse reporting things with comments to mods that you'd think those idiots would agree with. Was just something to do. I can't be bothered to mess with that site anymore. Occasionally will end up there via a search result looking for something else.
I left Digg for Reddit 10 years ago after the Digg 4.0 thing. But I havent used Reddit in years. I quit because i noticed a few site wide themes that seemed to be guaranteed:
the non political subs, including r/pics, r/memes, r/funny would also follow leftist narratives for content and comments.
any sub showing violence like r/justiceserved rejected any posts that showed black people as perpetrators
small niche subs: either stayed small and died with 1-2 posts a week at most, grew big enough for the rest of the reddit leftist hive mind to start their takeover, or shut down because the reddit hivemind couldnt control them.
The last good sub i remember was PCM [Political Compass Memes] which was a light hearted meme sub where everyone made fun of everyone including self depreciation. It too started down that road of being taken over by leftists once it became popular.
reddit is in no way an organically user driven content site. It doesnt have near the users they claim. And there is no coincidence that the site is organically lock-step in line with everything the media/left wants. Its full of bots, shills, JIDF, Chicoms, and grifters. A Chinese company, Tencent, injected $150M into Reddit in 2019, which came with a whole lot of stipulations. Reddit will never be independent after that.
Just the Kia2 Reddit to make sure there's nothing important going on over there that should be known here.
And very occasionally I'll Google something and the best that comes up is some random Reddit thread. But at this point it's like clicking on an old yahoo answers result, I expect nothing from it except the chance to laugh at some incredible stupidity.
I only visit a rare few select ones. While watching my tongue a bit, despite a rule of no-politics. Even then, one side is as always free to make political comments, because "iT's NoT pOliTical, It'S coMMon SeNse!!" ugh.
I hate that mentality of “it’s not political because I agree”
I got permabanned for insulting trannies on the KIA there, so fuck them. This was after amassing years of karma.
Well stating that men are not women is “transphobic”. I got attacked for that simple statement
I got permabanned for simply using the word "tranny". Hate speech. Banned.
Also got permabanned from /r/nfl one time during covid when I said that asking all the QBs their vaccination status was nothing more than a witch hunt. Some seething mod banned me while sperging a bunch of anti-vaxxer bile at me. Cult.
I used to hang out on descent JourneysInTheDark but that sub is almost dead after Fantasy Flight put out the latest Descent game. It was completely woke with furies and they/them character included, that on top of only women warriors despite people playing male war character.
And to stop complainers Fantasy Flight brought down the forums on their site.
I sometimes look some DnD stuff and I still visit kia and r/conservative.
I have to stop as I never find anything good anymore.
I sometimes visit r/dota2 (like now around TI). Sometimes a bit of r/soccer - I use German forums for my local team, but occasionally want to watch some cool goals in other leagues without watching a whole game. r/GameDeals if there's a cool deal for a game (or free stuff like currently Genesis Alpha One on GOG).
Same really small / niche subs.
I never used the big subs in general (so never news/science/politics/...).
Never.
There is a point to be made about reddit in the sense that if you are looking for genuine advice, it'll have come from about half a decade ago or more. It was always high in soy content and I always liked 4chan and other spinoffs better until they too were made unuseable or unpalatable.
If you've dealt with communist trannies (neurotic, aspergers afflicted baby-men in drag with no chance of upward development), you know what you're in for and the overt censorship of reddit never came as a shock.
Unfortunately I didn’t discover it til a few years back. But yea I guess I’m naive because after goerge Floyd every moron seemed to want to post messages about it
Never, ever since they essentially became off-hand China in terms of censorship, no point. I get more free speech from YouTube!
I still use it for picture of Doggos, Warhammer memes, and to buy/sell/trade coins. I avoid the political subs like the plague they are.
I hear that Warhammer has been infested. Are y’all fighting the good fight?
GrimDank isn't too bad but there is definitely an infestation.
I only go there to check like 2 subreddits of interest, nothing related to politics.
I haven't logged in the past month because I got a 14-day ban for using the word "nigga" in a playful manner with no bad intentions.
Mind you, there's no rule even remotely close to implying that's a bannable offense.
Since I don't care for reddit and can create other accounts if it comes down to it, I gave the mod a piece of my mind and called him a faggot. Permaban from the sub, not reddit, though. I logged out, haven't logged back in, but still browse those 2 subs occasionally.
Only for rare hobbies and art references. That's about it.
I read it, but since I was perma-banned 2 months ago from a KiA2 post, I can't post anymore.
I can't even remember what I was that I posted. Oh well.
I use it to read up on games stuff, but a lot of it is unbearable because a lot of subreddits just devolve into anti right bs for no reason.
I deleted my account around the time every single user started pretending a few hundred old people wandering around the captiol were the same as 9/11. Already had a foot out the door because of what a ridiculous place it is. When AHS started flooding subs they couldn't get taken down with extremely illicit material I figured it wasnt a site I belonged on.
I'll generally use very specific subs with smaller communities on specific topics. Like various games and what not. The convos are very much dedicated to the subject at hand. Though some of them can get insufferably meme-ey... The Doom subreddit for example can be a circle jerk of beating Ultra Nightmare and the same damn jokes over and over and over... Some even stealing from one another. I blame entropy. The older a game gets, the more stale its subreddit becomes and no one has anything new to discuss.
i'm on my final account. when the admins zap it i'm deleting the bookmark.
I no longer have an account but occasionally lurk. I still check half-kia from time to time. I can't be arsed to make an account to access kia2's subreddit.
Since I was banned over a year ago, it's been read only mode for the lulz.
Banned for what?
I called gay people who were calling for the deaths of anyone who didn't get the clotshot and didn't support the biden regime's lockdowns evil. Apparently you're not supposed to note evil gays. Which is funny, because I linked to a website I used to frequent as a gay until Killary's paid shills made being there unbearable.
Yea the covid propaganda was off the charts and with so many of the subreddits. And people got so upset if someone said “can we get back to talking about vintage toys”
Oh, this was a blog I was linking to and it was on KiA2. The Admins really hated me for that.
I used it frequently until I was banned. Now I'm off completely, except if I need to look something up or have a question that was previously answered there. I'll never make another account though.
Problem is if you want to read about non-political stuff - research I don't know - cell phone plans, new cars, etc - there's not a lot of places to go other than reddit.
Most of the others forums run by someone basically the mods got bored as years go by and the drama-seekers flood the site and they eventually go dead-ish.
That’s true
Gotcha. Like I mentioned the Skyrim subreddit has been pretty good. I know people have tried to inject political stuff but they are told to keep all politics within the realm of Skyrim. So lots of debates over the civil war
